PATENTANSPRÜCHE
Man erhält 47,3 Teile rohes l-Amino-4-hydroxyanthrachinon.

PATENT CLAIMS
1. A process for the preparation of 1-amino-4-hydroxyanotrachinone by exchanging an a-position hydroxy group in quinizarin for an amino group, characterized in that the quinizarin is reacted with ammonia or an ammonia-donating compound at a temperature of at least 900C, wherein at least 3 moles of ammonia or the corresponding amount of an ammonia-releasing compound are used per mole of quinizarin.
2. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that one proceeds in an inert aqueous, aqueous / organic or organic medium.
3. The 1-amino-4-hydroxyanthraquinone produced by the process according to claim 1
4. 1-amino-4-hydroxyanthraquinone according to claim 3, prepared by the method according to claim 2.
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of l-amino-4-hydroxyanthraquinone by exchanging an a-position hydroxy group in quinizarin for an amino group, which is characterized in that the quinizarin is reacted with ammonia or an ammonia-donating compound at a temperature of at least 900 C, at least 3 moles of ammonia or the corresponding amount of an ammonia-donating compound being used per mole of quinizarin.
The quinizarin (1,4-dihydroxyanthraquinone) is used directly for the process according to the invention without converting it to the corresponding leuco form or without using the corresponding reducing agents.
The ammonia can be in gaseous form or as an aqueous solution (ammonium hydroxide) or in any other conventional form such as e.g. the adduct of ammonia with calcium chloride or as a slightly dissociating ammonium salt, e.g. Ammonium chloride, ammonium acetate or ammonium carbonate can be used. Gaseous ammonia or, in particular, aqueous ammonia (ammonium hydroxide) is preferably used.
The reaction can take place in an aqueous, aqueous / organic or organic medium, the organic media which can be considered are those which are chemically stable under the reaction conditions used and which are inert to the reactants (i.e. can give at most one adduct such as ammonia with water); Such organic media are preferably alcohols, ethers, ether alcohols or amides, as are usually used in industry as solvents, in particular ethanol, butanol, methyl cellosolve, ethyl cellosolve, methyl carbitol, dioxane and dimethylformamide. The procedure is preferably in the presence of water, i.e. the procedure in aqueous or aqueous / organic medium is preferred. The simplest and therefore economically most economical method is to use only an aqueous medium.
The reaction medium, preferably water, is expediently used in at least such amounts that the reaction mixture is readily stirrable and at most in such amounts that the reaction product can be separated from the reaction mixture without too much effort. 2 to 50 parts, preferably 3 to 20 parts, in particular 4 to 10 parts, of reaction medium, in particular water, are advantageously used per part of quinizarin.
The reaction can be carried out at any temperature compatible with the pressurized apparatus of at least 90 ° C., for example between 90 and 200 ° C., advantageously between 95 and 150 ° C. In a batchwise procedure, for example, the procedure is advantageously between 95 and 11 ° C. ; however, if you want to accelerate the reaction, e.g. to work continuously, you can also operate in the temperature range between 110 and 150 C.
As already mentioned, the reaction takes place in closed apparatus, and the temperature or the corresponding pressure must be adapted to the corresponding partial pressures of the reaction medium and the ammonia.
The amount of ammonia used (or an ammonia-releasing agent) can be as large as desired, but is advantageously kept as low as possible; It is advantageous to use at most 15 moles of ammonia, preferably 3.5 to 15 moles of ammonia, in particular 3.5 to 10 moles of ammonia, per mole of quinizarin for the preparation of 1-amino-4-hydroxyanthraquinone. It should be noted that the amount of ammonia is preferably kept as low as possible for the preparation of l-amino-4-hydroxyanthraquinone, especially if the temperatures are chosen to be higher, e.g. in the range between 110 and 150 C.
The process is carried out at an overpressure above atmospheric pressure; the pressure may be in any range compatible with the equipment, e.g. at a maximum of 100, preferably at most 50 bar, advantageously between 0.1 and 6 bar, in particular between 0.5 and 3 bar, depending on the temperature and apparatus.
The process can be carried out isobarically or the pressure by the course of the reaction, i.e. due to the consumption of ammonia, drop easily. The course of the reaction can be followed by thin layer chromatography so that the reaction can then be interrupted (e.g.
by relieving the pressure) if the desired or
optimal yield of the desired end product (in particular l-amino-4-hydroxyanthraquinone) is reached.
If desired, the reaction can e.g. by further addition of ammonia and / or further reaction at a higher temperature (in particular in the range above 100 ° C., especially above 150 ° C.), so that the second hydroxyl group of quinizarin is also replaced by an amino group and 1,4-diaminoanthra The process according to the invention makes it particularly interesting to be able to produce the 1-amino-4-hydroxyanotrachinone in a form which is as free as possible from diaminoanthraquinone, as described above.
The amino derivative of the anthraquinone obtained, in particular the 1-amino-4-hydroxyanthraquinone, can be separated from the reaction mixture by methods known per se, for example, if appropriate after neutralizing the excess ammonia, by extracting and / or concentrating the reaction medium and / or precipitating if it does not automatically precipitate out by simply cooling the reaction mixture, after which it can be filtered off. If the 1-amino-hydroxyanthraquinone also contains 1, 4-diaminoanthraquinone as an impurity, it can be cleaned of it by the different solubility of the corresponding salt form. A customary acid, in particular an inorganic acid, preferably hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid, of which the latter is preferred, is advantageously used for this.
So you can e.g. stir the solid product in water and the acid in an excess over the stoichiometric amount e.g. add in an excess of 10 to 150% by weight over the stoichiometric amount; after salt formation, if appropriate after heating to temperatures up to 100 ° C., the solid residue is separated from the solution and, if desired, washed again; practically pure 1-amino-4-hydroxyanthraquinone is obtained in good yield.
In the following examples, the parts mean if
not otherwise specified, parts by weight and percentages by weight; the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius and parts by volume are in parts by weight such as ml to grams.
example 1
In an autoclave with a volume of 1000 parts, 300 parts of water, 50 parts of quinizarin and 50 parts of a 25% aqueous ammonia solution (ammonium hydroxide) are added with good stirring and heated to 100 ° C., as a result of which the excess pressure rises to 0.9 bar 6 hours at 100 ° C. After this reaction time, the pressure drops to 0.7 bar. Then the autoclave is relieved, the reaction mass is neutralized with dilute sulfuric acid and filtered, the filter cake is washed with water and then dried , 3 parts of crude l-amino-4-hydroxyanthraquinone.
Example 2
300 parts of water, 50 parts of quinizarin and 100 parts of a 25 percent aqueous ammonia solution (ammonium hydroxide) are placed in an autoclave with a volume of 1000 parts and heated to 100 ° C. with good stirring; the pressure in the autoclave increases to 1.3 bar Stirred for hours at 1 00 C and after this reaction time the pressure drops to 1.2 bar. Then the autoclave is relieved and the reaction mass is neutralized with dilute sulfuric acid and filtered off.
The moist filter cake is stirred in 100 parts of water and 50 parts of sulfuric acid (d = 1.6) at 50 ° C., then filtered, washed neutral and dried.
The yield is 47 parts of purified 1-amino-4-hydroxyanthraquinone.
