Abstract
This sealing strip for doors and windows has a V-shaped cross-section. It comprises two slats (1 and 2). The first slat is flexible. The second slat (2) is intended to be glued to the leaf. It is provided with a layer of glue (6), this layer of glue itself being covered with a flexible detachable layer (7). The junction between the two slats has, on the inside, a groove (8) which provides the necessary flexibility. The free edge (5) of the first slat ends with a rounded bead (9) which gives it a certain rigidity and facilitates sliding. The second slat ends with a rim (10) which protects the end of the first slat when the latter is completely folded in. <IMAGE>

CLAIMS
1. Sealing strip for doors and windows, comprising at least one flexible blade (1) resiliently fixed by an edge to a second blade (7) and making an acute angle with it, the second blade being intended to be pressed and fixed against the leaf (3) or the standing frame (4) of the door or window, the free edge (5) of the flexible blade coming to rest and being held resiliently against the sleeping frame, if the strip seal is fixed to the leaf, or against the leaf if the strip is fixed to the frame, when the door or window is closed.
2. Sealing strip according to claim 1, characterized in that the second blade is covered, on its face intended to be pressed and fixed to the wing or the standing frame, with a layer of adhesive (6) to which is applied a flexible removable layer (7).
3. Sealing strip according to claim 1, characterized in that it has, inside the joint between the two blades, a groove (8) reducing the thickness of the strip.
4. A sealing strip according to claim 1, characterized in that the free edge (5) of the flexible blade (1) has a rounded bead (9).
5. A sealing strip according to claim 1, characterized in that the edge of the second blade (2) opposite the joint ends in a flange (10) directed towards the free edge (7) of the first blade, this the first flexible blade being shorter than the second blade, so that, when the strip is completely flattened (fig. 2), the flange (10) projects beyond the flexible blade.
6. Sealing strip according to claim 1, characterized in that it is made of low density polyethylene comprising a substance protecting it from the action of ultraviolet rays.
7. Sealing strip according to claims 2 and 3.
8. Sealing strip according to claims 3 and 4.
9. Sealing strip according to claims 3 and 5.
10. Sealing strip according to claims 3 to 6.
11. Sealing strip according to claims 2 to 6.
12. Sealing strip according to claims 3 to 5.
13. Sealing strip according to claims 2 to 5.
There are several sealing devices for doors and windows using one or more flexible blades, whether or not lined with an elastic compressible material, such as for example synthetic foam. However, these strips have the defect of being either too expensive or fragile, or else of wearing out too quickly due to too great rigidity, or else of curling and thus causing sealing defects.
The present invention aims to remedy these defects. It is generally described in claim 1, and in its specific embodiments in claims 2 to 13.
Figure I shows in cross section the sealing strip at rest, with all the features of claims 1 to 13. Figure 2 shows, also in cross section, the sealing strip in the extreme compression position, with the features of claims 1,3,4et5.
The strip which has a V section is formed by two blades (1 and 2). The first blade (1) is resiliently flexible.
The second blade is intended to be flattened and fixed to the leaf or the frame of the door or window.
The adhesive layer (6) provided in claim 2 will preferably be a transfer adhesive. As for the flexible removable layer, it is a strip, as they are generally used for stickers today.
The groove (8) provided in claim 3 thins the strip at the joint of the two blades and thus allows easy flexing of the blade 1.
The rounded bead (9) provided by claim 4 has two functions: first, it stiffens the flexible blade I, which prevents it from curling; then, the rounding allows the edge of the strip to slide easily over the unevenness of the surface with which it is in contact.
The rim (10) which is provided with the second blade according to claim 5 has mainly the function of protecting the edge of the second blade when the latter is folded as in Figure 2. It also has the advantage of stiffening the second blade and to avoid curling which is harmful to the effectiveness of the bonding.
Low density polyethylene is undoubtedly the most suitable material for the manufacture of such a sealing strip. It allows easy and inexpensive manufacturing. It has the necessary strength and flexibility. However, it is necessary to protect it from ultraviolet rays with an adequate substance, for example a colored filler.
Claims 7 to 13 are combinations of the preceding claims.
