Fig.

The invention relates to a device according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
Experience has shown that urinal basins are often misused by throwing in various types of waste such as matches, leftover bits, cigarette ends and pieces of paper. Such waste gives rise to blockage of the drain pipe, so that in addition to the cleaning work of the basin which is necessary anyway, the drain pipe also has to be cleaned and, in the worst case, replaced.
Swiss patent no. 477 608 describes a protective sieve for insertion into a urinal basin, which protective sieve has an essentially flat sieve body with a circumferential shape close to the inner wall of the basin above the outlet and a raised edge at one point. This edge serves to retain the waste lying on the screen body when the protective screen is removed during the cleaning process. This known protective screen keeps the above-mentioned waste away from the drain pipe, but has the disadvantage that when the urinal basin is used or during the rinsing process, part of the liquid bounces off the protective screen and splashes on the user. In addition, the rinsing effect on the part of the pool below the protective screen is impaired.
It is an object of the invention to provide a device of the type mentioned, which does not have the disadvantages mentioned above.
The device according to the invention is characterized by the features stated in the characterizing part of patent claim 1.
The subject matter of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing, for example. Show it:
1 shows an embodiment of a urinal basin in section with an embodiment of the device according to the invention, which is inserted into the outlet channel,
2 shows the simplified view from above of three different urinal basins, the outlets in the exit channel being designed differently,
3 shows the side view of a first exemplary embodiment of the device according to the invention,
4 shows a section through a modified exemplary embodiment of the device according to FIG. 3,
5 shows the side view of a second exemplary embodiment of the device according to the invention, which has feet which are inserted into the mouth of an exit channel of the urinal basin, which is shown partly and in section, and
Fig.
6 the top view of the device according to FIG. 5.
Fig. 1 shows a urinal basin 1 for wall mounting in section, with a bowl 2, an inlet pipe 3 for the rinse water and an outlet channel 4 for discharging the urine and the rinse water via a so-called siphon 5 in a drain pipe 6. In the mouth of the Output channel 4 is a device 7 used to keep foreign objects thrown into the bowl 2, such as pieces of paper, cigar residue, cigarette ends, matches, etc., from the output channel 4. The device 7 is described in more detail below with reference to FIG. 3.
In Fig. 2 three different of the most common urinal basin are shown in the view from above. 2a shows the plan view of the urinal basin according to FIG. 1 drawn on a smaller scale. The cross-sectional shape of the output channel 4 corresponds to a circle flattened at one point. 2b shows a second embodiment of a urinal basin 9, the outlet channel 8 of which is slit-shaped. 2c shows a third embodiment of a urinal basin 10 which has two relatively small outlet channels 11. The distance d between the ends of the slot-shaped outlet channel 8 of the urinal basin 9 is approximately the same as the distance d between the outer edges of the channels 11 of the urinal basin 10.
3 shows the side view of the first embodiment
Example of the device according to the invention 7. Starting from a cap 12, a multiplicity of curved rods 13 extend downward and form a hood 14. Between each two adjacent rods 13 there is a slot 15. The free ends of the rods 13 are linear and run practically parallel to one another and form a neck region 16 which is intended for insertion into the outlet channel 4 of the urinal basin 1. The urine and the flushing water can pass through the slots 13 into the interior of the hood 14 and from there through the neck area 16 into the outlet channel 4. The foreign bodies are kept away from the outlet 4 by the rods 13.
For the sake of simplicity, only one half of the rods 13 is drawn completely in FIG. 3, of the other half only the outermost rod is shown.
The rods 13 are made of an elastic material and are shaped such that the diameter of the neck region 16 in the state not inserted into the outlet channel 4 is larger than the inside diameter of the outlet channel 4. To insert the neck region 16 into the outlet channel 4, the hood 14 in pressed together in the radial direction and the neck region 16 inserted into the outlet channel 4. After releasing the hood 14, the stretched ends of the rods 13, which ends are preferably thickened, spring outwards and hold the device 7 firmly in the outlet channel 4.
FIG. 4 shows a modified embodiment of the device 7 according to FIG. 3. For the sake of simplicity, only two opposite rods 17 are drawn completely. In reality, a multiplicity of such rods 17 also extend from a cap 18 from top to bottom, similarly to the case in the embodiment according to FIG. 3. At the point where the neck region 19 begins, a radially inwardly and upwardly directed mandrel 20 is arranged on each or every second rod 17. The total number of mandrels 20 form a trap, so that, for example, a spherical disinfection and / or deodorant cartridge 21 can be pushed through the elastic neck region 19 and between the mandrels 20 into the interior of the hood. After the cartridge 21 has passed the mandrels 20, the cartridge 21 can no longer fall out.
5 and 6 is a further embodiment of the device according to the invention in side view and
the top view. From a cap 22, arcuate rods 23 extend down to an annular bead 24. The rods 23 are kept apart by horizontally arranged rings 25. The rods 23 and the rings 25 together form a hood consisting of a latticework with recesses 30, the neck area of which is formed by the bead 24.
Resilient feet 26 extend downward from the bead 24. 5 shows part of the urinal basin 9 according to FIG. 2b in section. The feet 26 protrude into the slot-shaped outlet channel 8. Because the feet 26 spring outwards, they hold the lattice-shaped hood in the urinal basin 9, the bead 24 abutting the bottom region of the urinal basin 9 surrounding the slot-shaped exit channel 8. 6, part of the rods 26 and the rings 25 has broken away, so that one of the feet and part of the slot-shaped outlet channel 8 are visible.
Radially projecting rod-shaped projections 27 are preferably arranged around the ring 25 adjacent to the bead 24.
These lugs 27 form a grate on which the foreign bodies thrown into the urinal basin can be deposited.
When removing the device according to FIG. 5 with the aid of a pliers (not shown), the foreign bodies, or at least a large part thereof, are also carried along by this grate and can thus be removed from the urinal basin in a hygienic manner. Part of the rod-shaped lugs 27 is shorter than the rest. This allows the spherical hood to lie close to the back wall of the urinal basin. In this way, it is achieved that the bead 24 really lies completely against the area of the urinal basin 9 surrounding the outlet 8.
A pin 28 preferably extends downward from the inside of the cap 22, see FIG. 5. A disinfection and / or deodorant cartridge 29 with a corresponding bore can be plugged onto the pin 28 in order to hold the cartridge 29 within the cage-shaped hood . This cartridge is not shown in FIG. 6.
The device shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 can easily be used in urinal basins according to FIG. 2c. The two feet 26 are inserted into the two output channels 11. Because the distance d between the ends of the slot-shaped outlet channel 8 and between the outer walls of the two outlet channels 11 is approximately the same, the clamping action of the feet 26 is the same in both applications.
The spring action of the rod parts inserted into the outlet channel 4, i.e. of the neck area 16 of the device according to FIGS. 3 and 4 or the feet 26 inserted into the outlet channels 4 and 11 is so large that the devices are not washed away during the rinsing process.
Instead of the cage-like hood of the device shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, a hollow ball provided with a plurality of holes and / or slots can also be used.
The rods 13, 17 and 23 and the rings 25 preferably have a round cross section, because this shape means that the tendency to spray of the urine or rinsing water impinging on them is lowest.
The devices described above can be made from a urine-resistant steel, from ordinary steel covered with a plastic jacket, or entirely from an elastic plastic, for example from polyethylene. The production of the devices from plastic has the advantages that they are very cheap to buy on the one hand and on the other hand after the disinfection and / or deodorant cartridge has been used they can be removed from the urinal basin and thrown into the waste. This avoids the unpleasant cleaning work of these devices.
