CLAIMS
1. Hinged bracelet, comprising a series of links with decorative plates, characterized in that each link (2) carrying at least one decorative plate (3, 15) comprises two parts (2a, 2b; 2c, 2d), each of said parts comprising at least one recess of shape corresponding to at least a fraction of the periphery of said decor plate, the juxtaposition of the recesses of said assembled parts of said link producing an opening having the shape of said decor plate, said opening being intended to receive said brochure.
2. Bracelet according to claim 1, characterized in that said parts (2a, 2b) of said link are cut in the lengthwise direction of said link.
3. Bracelet according to claim 1, characterized in that said parts (2c, 2d) of said link are cut in the direction perpendicular to the length of said link.
4. Bracelet according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises tubes (7, 12) rigidly mounted in the space produced by the recesses (6) of the underside of the parts (2a, 2b; 2c, 2d) of the link (2), said tubes allowing attachment to said link of the decor plate (3).
5. Bracelet according to claim 1, characterized in that at least one of said links (2) comprises more than one decor plate (15).
The present invention relates to an articulated bracelet comprising a series of links with decorative plates.
Bracelets are already known, the links of which are provided with decor plates. However, in such bracelets, the links are in one piece, so that the supply on these links of decorative plates of complicated shapes poses serious problems of machining and assembly.
The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks, that is to say to allow the use of decor plates of complicated shapes, while simplifying the machining problems and allowing easy mounting of these plates on the bracelet ends.
To achieve this object, the bracelet according to the invention is characterized in that each link carrying at least one decorative plate comprises two parts, each of said parts having a shape clearance corresponding to at least a fraction of the periphery of said plate decoration, the juxtaposition of the clearances of said assembled parts of said link producing an opening having the shape of said decoration plate, said opening being intended to receive said plate.
The invention will be explained below, by way of example and with the aid of the drawing, in which:
fig. 1 shows a view of a bracelet according to the invention,
fig. 2,3 and 4 show a first embodiment of the link with decor plates,
fig. 5 shows a variant of the fixing of the decor plate,
fig. 6, 7 and 8 show a second embodiment of the links of the bracelet, and
fig. 9 and 10 show a third embodiment of the links of the bracelet according to the invention.
Fig. I shows that the bracelet 1 is formed of articulated links 2, each comprising two parts 2a and 2b, fixed to one another rigidly, for example by welding. Each link has a decor plate 3, the dimensions of which can be adapted to those of the links so as to promote aesthetics. The decoration plates 3 of the bracelet of FIG. 1 were chosen to be rectangular in shape. For example, but it is obvious that plates of different shapes can also be provided as decorative elements of the bracelet.
In addition, and apart from their different shapes, the inserts can be distinguished: a) by the appearance of their visible external face which can be matt or polished or include decorative elements, b) by the material of which they are made, such than steel, gold or hard metal, and c) by their protruding mounting, flush or recessed from the outer surface of the link. The above shows that the invention promotes the creation of a very large number of possible aesthetic combinations.
Figs. 2, 3 and 4 show the construction of a first embodiment of the link 2 with decoration plate. In order to allow the use of decorative plates of complicated shapes, the shape of half of the periphery of this plate is in principle first machined in each of the parts 2a and 2b of the link. To allow the assembly of the links in a bracelet, a tube 4 is welded to the center of the outside of one of the parts of the link, and two tubular elements 5, to the ends of the outside of the other part of this link. The two parts 2a and 2b are then rigidly fixed to each other, for example by welding, to form the link.
The latter then comprises, in its center, an opening formed by the juxtaposition of the clearances machined in each of the parts from which it is formed, opening having the shape of the periphery of the decorative plate provided as a decorative element for the link. Seen from above, the internal edges of parts 2a and 2b may each include a bevel, the juxtaposition of which creates a decorative V-shaped groove on the surface of the link. Alternatively, the inner edges of the parts 2a and 2b can join so perfectly that, seen from above, no line of separation of these parts is visible. At their lower part, the halves 2a and 2b of the link each have a clearance 6, designed to receive, on either side of the opening of the decor board, a tube 7 for fixing the decor board.
The tubes 7 can be welded in the space created by the clearances 6 at the lower part of the halves 2a and 2b of the link or, alternatively, welded on one of these two parts before their assembly. Each tube 7 is pierced, on the inside, with a blind hole 8.
The decorative plate 3 is welded to a tube 9, containing a spring 10, connecting two pins 11 which, when the plate is mounted in the opening of the link, thread into the blind holes 8 of the tubes 7. It is visible that this method of assembling the decoration plate to the link in principle allows the interchangeability of these plates.
In addition, it is obvious that the height of the decoration plate 3 can be chosen so that its upper edge reaches flush with the upper surface of the link or that it is set back or even exceeds this surface.
The above shows that the design of the bracelet links according to the invention allows: - the use of decor plates of complicated shapes, - the mounting of the decor plates on the finished bracelet, and - the interchangeability of the decor plates (other color , other surface condition, different height of the outer face of the plate relative to the surface of the link).
Fig. 5 shows a variant of the fixing of the decoration plate 3. As in the previous embodiment, the decoration plate 3 is welded to a tube 9, but the latter has neither spring nor pins.
On the other hand, the tubes 12 welded to the lower part of the link, at each end of the latter, are pierced with through holes. The decorative plate is then fixed to the link by a pin 13, passing through the tube 9 and driven into the tubes 12 of the link.
Figs. 6, 7 and 8 show a second embodiment of the links of the bracelet. In this case, each link has several decor plates 15, arranged one next to the other and oriented perpendicular to the separation of the halves 2a and 2b of the links. The decorative plates 15 are, for example, cut from profiles and each pierced with a hole 14. The plates are fixed to the link by a pin 13, passing through the holes 14 in these plates and driven into the tubes 12, welded at the bottom of the link, at each end of it.
Figs. 9 and 10 show yet a third embodiment of the links of the bracelet. In this embodiment, the link is always in two parts, but these are cut in the direction
perpendicular to the length of the link. This allows, as shown in fig. 9, the contribution of a decorative plate 3 of great length and of small thickness. For this purpose, each part 2c, 2d of the link is machined with a U-shaped opening, of small width, and of length equal to half that of the decorative plate 3. As indicated in fig. 10, the decorative plate can be removably fixed to the link, using two pins 11, contained in a tube 9, on which the plate 3 is welded. The pins are separated by a spring 10, also contained in the tube, and engage in the blind holes 8 of two tubes 7, welded to the lower part of the link at each end thereof.
Thus, the fundamental idea at the basis of the invention consisting in making a bracelet with two-part links not only makes it possible to provide decorative links of complicated shapes which are difficult to machine with these links, but it also gives the possibility of create a large number of embodiments of bracelets.
