PATENTANSPRUCH

PATENT CLAIM
Strips for the internal sealing of windows to be inserted between the glass (2) and the glass retaining strip (1) with an anchoring groove (5) which can be snapped into a projection on the glass retaining strip (1), characterized in that the strip on the anchoring groove (5) opposite side has at least two sealing lips (6, 7, 8) and at one end a deflecting nose (9) and consists of an elastomer.
The invention relates to a strip used for the internal sealing of windows, which is to be inserted between the glass and the glass retaining strip and has an anchoring groove which can be snapped into a projection of the glass retaining strip.
Such strips, which have to be pressed into the gap between the window and the glass retaining strip, are known under the name of banana seal or tulip seal. However, these sealants have the disadvantage that damage occurs to the material of the sealing strip, which occurs as a result of the sharp-edged glass surround and question the effectiveness of the seal.
If the plus tolerance on the glass pane of the window is used, the gap between the latter and the projection on the glass retaining strip can become so small that it is no longer possible to mount the sealant even when a great pressure is applied.
The material and the shape of the known sealants only allow a limited deformation.
The object of the present invention is a strip of the type described at the outset, which avoids the risk of damage and enables reliable insertion even with a narrow gap without difficulty.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the strip lies on the opposite side of the anchoring groove
Side has at least two sealing lips and at one end a repellent nose and consists of an elastomer.
Due to this shape and in particular the use of elastomers, the strip slides easily into the available gap until the anchoring groove engages.
Based on the drawing, the invention is explained in more detail from an exemplary embodiment.
Show it:
FIG. 1 shows a sealing strip of a known type before insertion into the gap between the glass and the glass retaining strip, in a side view in section,
FIG. 2 shows a strip according to the invention in an exemplary embodiment.
3 shows a strip according to FIG. 2 in the position before insertion, in a side view in section,
Figure 4 shows the strip according to Figures 2 and 3 in the engaged position, in side view in section.
FIG. 1 shows the glass retaining strip 1 and the encompassing insulating glass pane 2. There is a projection 4 on the glass retaining strip 1. Above points A and B there is the known sealing strip 3 to be installed, which has the anchoring groove 5. To assemble the sealing strip, this must be pressed into the gap between the insulating glass pane 2 and the glass retaining strip 1 using strong pressure until the anchoring groove 5 engages in the projection 4 of the glass retaining strip 1.
This often causes damage to the sharp-edged glass surround at point B.
The strip shown in FIG. 2 also has the anchoring groove 5, but has the sealing lips 6, 7 and 8 and the deflection nose 9 on the opposite side.
This strip consists of an elastomer, so it is easily elastically deformable.
In Figure 3, the new sealing strip is shown in the position before insertion. By pushing the sealing strip into the gap between the glass pane 2 and the glass holding strip 1, the lower sealing lip 8 slides easily over the critical point B, so that no damage to the material has to be feared. When pressed in, point A acts as a fulcrum.
As can be seen from FIG. 4, after the finished assembly, that is to say after the anchoring groove 5 has snapped in, the sealing lips 6, 7 and 8 rest firmly on the glass pane over the projection of the glass retaining strip 1. The deflecting nose 9 is supported against the glass retaining strip 1 and, due to the three-point bearing C-D-E, ensures a secure position of the sealing strip and a good seal.
The connection of the points C-D-E forms a triangle, the angles of which are smaller than 900.
