7. Folding gate according to claim 1, characterized in that a pair of leaves is articulated by hinges (11) and joined to another pair of identical leaves and to the upright (2) of the frame, folding side, by hinges (1).
The present invention relates to a folding gate. Folding gates are known of the kind of those comprising several leaves hinged together along their longitudinal sides and capable of folding over one another on a lateral side of the frame.
It is an object of the invention to provide a folding gate which offers, compared to known gates of this type, a smaller footprint; which provides simpler and more flexible handling; which has a low load on the hinges and which eliminates the friction on the ground.
It is also an object of the invention to provide a portal whose
leaves fold inside or outside against the big one
work that surrounds the opening equipped with said portal.
These objects are achieved by the means set out in claim 1.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevation view of a gate with five leaves with its guidance system, and
fig. 2 is a plan view from above.
In the example chosen, it is a garage gate railed on one side by hinges 1 on a frame 2 sealed in the opening of the shell 3 while, on the other side, the frame 2a also sealed in the structural work 3a, receives the leaf of a leaf 4 opening.
This portal has five leaves 4-5-6-7 and 8, but it could include less or more without departing from the scope of the invention.
Leaf 4, on the right in the figures, opens alone and acts as a gate. It comprises a lock 9 and a handle 10, the bolt of which locks in a keeper located on the frame 2a.
The leaves 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 are respectively assembled by hinges 11, the couples thus formed are joined together and at the folding leaf 8 by a set of hinges 1.
The leaves are supported by their base against a shoe 12 with keeper fixed to the ground and also against a peg 13. The leaves are locked to the upper crosspiece 14 of the frame by cremones 15.
The gate thus formed is capable of folding laterally on itself and of being retracted into a housing 16 provided for this purpose in the shell. Its folding is ensured by a guide device constituted by one or two rails, depending on the number of leaves.
In the example of embodiment described, these rails are two in number and marked 17 and 18. They are fixed to the upper cross member 14 of the frame that they come into contact with. Near the end of the cross-member 15, the rails deviate from it by a distance equal to the thickness of two or four leaves to allow them to be folded over one another.
The leaves are suspended from the rails by means of grooved rollers 19 mounted in pairs in a yoke 20 fixed to the end of a rod 21 extending the axis of the hinges 11.
The gate being closed, the user can enter by the gate formed by the leaf 4. When he wants to take his vehicle out of the garage, he unlocks the shoe 12, operates the cremones 15 and easily folds the leaves laterally one on the other. , the rollers 19 roll on the rails 17 and 18 and allow the leaves to be driven effortlessly in the housing 16. The closing is carried out by reverse maneuvering just as easily.
