REVENDICATIONS

CLAIMS
1. A device for lubricating a textile thread, comprising a
oil bath, a drum fitted with a shaft rotating in
bearings mounted on the edges of the tank containing the oil bath, a
tensioner placed on either side of the drum and intended to apply
on the latter the wire to be lubricated so that the displacement
longitudinal of the latter causes the drum to rotate, characterized in that the drum is located above the level of the
oil bath and that it includes, at least near one of its
ends, at least one cylindrical radial projection the length of which is such that at least part of it plunges into the
oil bath when rotating the drum.
2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the said projection is fixed to the drum in a removable manner by a fixing means arranged so as to allow the fixing of the projections of different diameters.
3. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that it is provided with a device for keeping the level of the oil bath constant.
The subject of the present invention is a device for lubricating a textile thread, comprising an oil bath, a drum provided with a rotating shaft in bearings mounted on the edges of the tank containing the oil bath, a tensioner placed on either side of the drum and intended to apply to the latter the wire to be lubricated so that the longitudinal displacement of the latter causes the rotation of the drum.
In known devices of this type, the drum is partially immersed in the oil bath so that, when it is rotated by the wire to be lubricated, the oil entrained by its surface comes into contact with the applied wire on the latter and lubricates it.
Such a device has the drawback of not allowing the degree of lubrication it provides to be varied. Each drum has a corresponding degree of lubrication.
The object of the present invention is therefore the production of a device for lubricating a textile thread, which makes it possible to vary the lubrication with the same drum and for the same drive speed thereof.
This is made possible, with the device which is the subject of it, by the fact that the lubrication is not done by the quantity of oil entrained by the surface of the drum immersed in the oil bath, but by that entrained by at least one cylindrical radial projection that includes the drum at least near one of its ends.
By modifying the diameter and / or the length of this projection, or even the number of projections, the quantity of oil lubricating the wire can be varied.
The single figure of the accompanying drawing shows, schematically and by way of example, an embodiment of the device which is the object of the invention.
The device shown comprises a tank 1 containing an oil bath 2. On each of the opposite edges of the tank is fixed a bearing 3 and 4 respectively, in which rotates one end of a shaft 5 on which is mounted a drum 6 placed at the -above the oil bath 2. Near each of the ends of the drum 6 is fixed radially a cylindrical rod 7 and 8 respectively, the length of which is such that at least part of it plunges into the oil bath when rotating the drum. In this case, the two rods 7 and 8, each forming a cylindrical radial projection of the drum, are radially opposite.
On either side of the tank 1, parallel to the drum 6, is placed a tensioner 9 and 10 respectively, intended to apply the wire to be lubricated 11 on the surface of the drum 6, so that the latter can be driven in rotation by the wire 11 during a longitudinal displacement thereof.
When the drum 6 is rotated, the rods 7 and 8 successively plunge into the oil bath 2 and, leaving it, entrain oil which, flowing over their surface, spreads over the surface of the drum 6 and , therefore, to the wire 11 which will thus be lubricated.
By modifying the diameter and / or the length of the rods 7 and 8, or even their number, it is possible to vary the quantity of oil which they entrain and spread on the surface of the drum 6 and, consequently, the degree of lubrication of the wire 11.
The means for fixing the rods to the drum can be provided so that they are removable and replaceable by other rods having a different diameter and / or length.
The described lubrication device can be provided with a known device making it possible to maintain a constant level of the oil bath.
