10. Device according to claim 5, characterized in that the mold carrier (1, 1 ') is constructed in several parts.
The invention relates to a method and a device for producing foundry molds or foundry mold cores.
In this context, a method is known from DE-AS 1 026 049 in which the air displaced or entrained from this when the molding compound is driven into the mold space is discharged to the outside through porous walls of the mold or is at least temporarily accumulated in this.
In this case, however, it cannot be avoided that, on the one hand, molding compound particles and, on the other hand, the binding agent added to the molding compound penetrate into the pores of the walls and thus greatly impair the effectiveness of the porous walls. Likewise, the porous walls cannot prevent the air entrained into the mold space or the air to be displaced when the molding compound enters the; Mold space is momentarily strongly compressed and thus the free flow of the molding compound, especially in bulges of the mold space, hindered to different degrees.
The invention is based on the object of creating a method according to the preamble of claim 1, with which air congestion when pouring a molding compound into a mold space can be avoided and an optimal use of the energy expended for driving in the molding compound as well as a uniformly tight filling of the mold space, also in its undercuts, is guaranteed.
According to the invention, the object is achieved in that the molding space receiving the molding compound is evacuated before and / or during the introduction of the molding compound.
The invention also comprises a device for carrying out the method, which is characterized by the features listed in the characterizing part of patent claim 5.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is described in more detail below in connection with the drawing. Show it:
1 shows a device in a simplified representation with a mold carrier designed as a core sleeve,
FIG. 2 shows the same device as FIG. 1 with a mold carrier shown as a molding box with model devices.
1 shows, in a simplified representation, a device during a filling process of a mold carrier 1. A core sleeve or the like is provided as the mold carrier 1 and is formed from an upper part 2 and a lower part 3. In the parting plane of the upper part 2 to the lower part 3, a sealing means 4 is used which, preferably formed from an elastomer, enables a gas-tight connection of the upper part 2 with the lower part 3.
The mold carrier 1 has a mold space 5 into which a vacuum line 6 opens, which is connected to a vacuum unit via a control valve 7. To actuate the control valve 7, it is connected to a central control system 9 by a control line 8.
In the upper part 2 of the mold carrier 1 a filling opening 10 leading into the mold space 5 is arranged, which is provided for the supply of a molding compound 11. Depending on the nature of the model shape, it is possible to design the mold carrier 1 so that it can be dismantled into further parts and also to provide several filling openings 10.
To hold the mold carrier 1, it is inserted between a support 12 and a filling device 13 that feeds the molding compound 11. Provision is made for the support 12 and / or the filling device 13 to be movable.
The filling device 13, for example shown as a shooting head of a known molding machine, consists essentially of a housing 14 which receives a metered amount of molding compound 11 and whose closure to the mold carrier 1 is formed by a plate 15. Arranged in the plate 15 is at least one passage opening 16, which is axially conforming to the filling opening 10, for the molding compound 11, the end of this passage opening 16 facing the filling opening 10 of the mold carrier 1 being provided with a nozzle 17 which can be coupled to the filling opening 10 in a gas-tight manner.
In order to make the passage opening 16 closable, a valve 18 is used in it. The valve 18 is designed, for example, as a slide valve which is connected via a push rod 19 to an electrically, pneumatically or hydraulically acting displacement unit 20 which can be actuated by a line 21 from the central control system 9. However, it is easily possible to use other types of valves or closures.
A compressed gas line 22, which is connected to a compressed gas source via a compressed gas valve 23, opens into the space of the housing 14 in a known manner. The compressed gas valve 23 is connected to the central control system 9 via a control line 24.
The device shown in FIG. 2 differs from that according to FIG. 1 in that a mold carrier 1 'is used in the form of a molding box, with its end face
lateral closure is formed on the one hand by a model plate 26 carrying the models 25 and on the other hand by a cover plate 27.
Enclosed by the cover plate 27, the mold carrier 1 'and the pattern plate 26, a mold space 5' is formed which is connected to a vacuum unit by at least one vacuum line 6 'penetrating the pattern plate 26 via a control valve 7'. In order to operate the control valve 7 ', it is connected to the central control system 9 via a control line 8'.
In order to hold the cover plate 27, mold carrier 1 'and pattern plate 26, which are brought into contact with one another, they are inserted between a support 12' and a filling device 13 feeding the molding compound 11 ', analogously to FIG.
Here, as in FIG. 1, provision is made for the support 12 'and / or the filling device 13 to be movable.
At the contact planes of the cover plate 27, mold carrier 1 'and model plate 26, which are brought into contact with one another, the end faces of the mold carriers 1' are designed as sealing surfaces and the cover plate 27 and the model plate 26 are provided with a sealant 28, 29 consisting, for example, of an elastomer, whereby a gas-tight connection of these parts can be achieved.
For feeding the molding compound 11 ′ into the mold space 5 ′, at least one filling opening 10 ′ is arranged in the cover plate 27, which opening can be coupled in a gas-tight manner to the nozzle 17 of the filling device 13.
The nature of the filling device 13 otherwise corresponds to the embodiment according to FIG. 1. Depending on the composition of the molding compound 11 or 11 ', different nozzle shapes can be provided, and likewise the connection of the nozzle 17 for coupling with the filling openings 10, 10' can be provided. be different.
The design of the device, in particular that of the filling device, is not limited to the embodiment described; instead of the pneumatically acting molding compound feed, similar, for example, known mechanically acting ones can also be provided.
The mode of operation of the invention is that the mold carrier 1 or the cover plate 27 with the mold carrier 1 'and the pattern plate 26 is inserted together between the support 12, 12' and the filling device 13 and there under the force of the support 12, 12 'and / or the filling device 13 is tensioned. Then, by actuating the pressurized gas valve 23, pressurized gas is applied to the molding compound 11, 11 'in the housing space of the filling device 13, whereby the previously dosed molding compound 11, 11' can be brought into the molding space 5, 5 '.
Depending on the type of molding process or the composition of the molding compound 11, 11 ', the mold space 5, 5' is evacuated by opening the control valve 7, 7 ', the valve 18 of the passage opening 16 being actuated simultaneously and / or subsequently. Depending on the time at which the valves 7, 7 ', 18, 23 are actuated, the mold space 5, 5' is evacuated before and / or during the introduction of the molding compound 11, 11 '.
Due to the evenly dense filling of the mold space that can be achieved with the present invention, it is possible to produce even relatively complex shapes in a reproducible manner and as a result of which the quality of the molded pieces can be significantly increased Use compression of the molding compound.
