Abstract

In the continuous treatment of a sheet of parallel warp yarns, surprisingly good levelness is achieved when the threads, in contrast to the known methods where they are guided in single layers, are present in at least two complete layers one on top of the other at least in those parts of the device in which excess liquor has to be squeezed off. This requires that the threads make lateral contact, i.e. the squeeze nip has to be filled evenly. The process is particularly useful in indigo dyeing of warp yarns which are used for producing blue denim.
