PATENT CLAIMS
1. Fan for bathrooms or the like to be ventilated rooms, consisting of a fan motor (1) with impeller (5) and bracket (4), characterized in that on the fixed part of the fan motor designed as an external rotor (1) a follow-up relay (3) is set up as an integral unit.
2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the follow-up relay (3) is placed centrally on the end face of the fan motor (1) opposite the fan wheel (5).
3. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the follow-up relay (3) is attached to the holder (4) of the fan motor (1).
The invention relates to a fan for bathrooms or the like to be ventilated and ventilated rooms, consisting of a fan motor with impeller and bracket.
Such fans are known, the fan motor being both a so-called Can act inside rotor as well as outside rotor. Usually, a fan pipe is inserted into masonry or passed through a wall of some kind, which is dimensioned in its preferably round cross-section so that the fan motor and the impeller can be pushed in easily. The fan holder can either be screwed onto the brackets inside the fan tube or pushed into specially provided grooves and locked.
For the ventilation of certain internal rooms, such as bathrooms or toilets, there is often the requirement that the fan should not be switched off immediately after use, but rather must run for another ten minutes, for example. For this it is necessary to operate the fan via a time relay, a so-called run-on relay, which was previously installed independently of the fan. It is customary to accommodate and mount such follow-up relays, for example, in a flush-mounted box, in a switch or in another housing.
However, this means that additional wiring must be provided between the installation location of the lag relay and the fan and that the problem of accommodating the lag relay must be rethought and solved by the installer in each individual case and depending on the circumstances.
This is where the present invention comes in, which is based on the object of eliminating the difficulties and disadvantages associated with the spatially separate installation of fans and follow-up relays associated with them.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that a follow-up relay is placed as an integral unit on the stationary part of the fan motor designed as an external rotor.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the follow-up relay is placed centrally on the end face of the fan motor opposite the impeller.
The assembly of the follow-up relay and the fan motor into an integral unit in no way obstructs the air flow in the fan tube and relieves the installer of any additional work of mounting the follow-up relay in any other more or less suitable location. The follow-up relay placed on one of the end faces of the fan motor takes up a place within the fan tube that is free anyway due to the brackets directed obliquely against the air flow and could not be used for other purposes.
In a further development, it is advantageous to attach the follow-up relay to the bracket of the fan motor. The advantage resulting from the integrated fan unit is reinforced by the use of an external rotor motor, which leads to an overall very flat design, so that the integral unit consisting of fan motor and follow-up relay can be easily converted into very short fan tubes or
thin walls can be used without fear that the space required for this would not be available.
The accompanying drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the invention, partially in section. In this embodiment, the fan motor 1 is mounted inside a fan tube 2. For this purpose, the holder 4, which consists of three feet inclined radially outwardly against the direction of flow, is inserted into recesses 7 via longitudinal grooves within the fan tube 2 and latched perpendicular thereto in the manner of a bayonet catch. The fan motor 1 is an external rotor so that the rotating part forms the impeller 5 at the same time. The impeller 5 lies in the area of a bead, which is not of interest here, within the fan tube 2 and is brought there up to close to the inner wall 6 of the same.
On the end face, namely on the end face of the fan motor 1 opposite the impeller 5, an overrun relay 3 is placed and connected to it to form an integral unit. The follow-up relay 3 can either be flange-mounted directly to the housing of the fan motor 1 or it is firmly connected to the bracket 4, or the motor housing is shaped such that the follow-up relay 3 can still be accommodated within it.
Instead of the fan motor 1 with its wing 5 and the follow-up relay 3 integrally combined with it into a unit, it can of course also be held in a comparable manner within known other fan shafts or openings. The axial extent of the follow-up relay 3 is dimensioned in each case such that it lies within the axial length of the bracket 4 pointing obliquely and radially outward from the impeller 5.
