Abstract

4-Chlorophenoxyisobutyrylsalicylic acid of formula <IMAGE> is prepared by reaction of salicylic acid with 4-chlorophenoxyisobutyryl chloride. The compound of formula I as well as its salts, esters or amides, especially its salts with inorganic and organic bases, its esters, in particular with aminoalcohols, and its amides with mono- or polyamines, can be used for the treatment of hypercholesterolemic states and of platelet aggregation phenomena.
