Abstract

The coupling device (75) comprises a tubular body (77) fastened to the end of a plunger of a pump, and a linking head (76) screwed to the end of the rod of a piston driving the plunger pump by means of the coupling device. In order to allow misalignment without any resulting damage, the linking head (76) comprises a spherical bearing surface (82) interacting with a complementary surface (84) of a dish element (86) belonging to the tubular body (77). In order to prevent separation during the reversal of the motion, Belleville (spring) washers (92) compressed by a ring (94) provide an elastic preload. The coupling device may be used between the drive piston and the plunger pump of a pumping unit. <IMAGE>
