Machine according to claim 1, characterized in that the pivot (25) projecting from the side wall (26) of the lower frame element (2) and the pivot (29) projecting from the internal face (30) ), opposite the enclosure (11) are arranged in an alignment such that the lever arm (27) connecting them is oriented parallel to the support members (7, 8) connecting the lower frame element (2) to the enclosure (11).
The present invention relates to a sewing machine, intended to be mounted in a support element, comprising at least one column mounted on a lower frame element being extended by a free arm, the column carrying an upper arm arranged parallel to the arm. free and ending in a head in which is housed the drive mechanism of a needle holder bar, at least two support members articulated in pairs, on the one hand, by one of their ends to the front face and to the rear face of the lower frame element and, on the other hand, by their other end, to an enclosure, said support members connecting the lower frame element to the enclosure in such a way that they make it possible to move the machine relative to the enclosure between a first position in which the lower frame element and the free arm are housed in the enclosure,
their upper face being substantially at the level of the upper edge of the enclosure, and a second position in which the free arm is in the released position above the enclosure.
German patent No. 904021 already discloses a sewing machine whose base capable of forming a free arm is mounted on connecting rods. However, it has the drawback of jamming due to the lack of parallelism of the latter and the tolerances of As a result, it is difficult to bring it from its low position into its high position by longitudinal displacement of the upper arm of the machine.
In order to facilitate the movement of the machine relative to the enclosure to bring it from one of said positions into the other, the machine according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises a lever intended to move it relative to the enclosure, mounted on a pivot projecting from a longitudinal wall of the lower frame element, one of the arms of this lever being articulated at its free end to a pivot projecting from the internal face, opposite , of the enclosure, while the other arm of this lever is provided at its free end with an actuating handle.
The appended drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, an embodiment of the machine according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a front elevational view thereof, showing the machine in the free arm free position.
Fig. 2 is a partial view in longitudinal section, showing its support members and the control lever for the movements of the machine in the sewing position on a flat base.
Fig. 3 is a partial horizontal sectional view of the lower frame element of the machine, in the sewing position on a flat base, on a larger scale.
The sewing machine shown in the drawing comprises a column 1 mounted on a lower frame element 2 extending by a free arm 3. Column I carries an upper arm 4 arranged parallel to the free arm 3 and terminating in a head 5 in which is housed the drive mechanism of a needle holder bar 6.
Rods 7, 8 are articulated in pairs, on the one hand, by one of their ends 9, to the front face and to the rear face of the lower frame element 2 and, on the other hand, by their other end 10, inside an enclosure 11 in which the lower frame element 2 is at least partially engaged.
The rods 7, 8 articulated inside the enclosure 11 have an extension 12 beyond their end of articulation 10 to the enclosure 11. These extensions 12 of the rods 7 and 8 are themselves articulated at the ends. a connecting rod 13 ensuring that the parallelism of the two pairs of connecting rods is maintained, during manual movement of the machine from its position shown in FIG. 2, in which the lower frame element 2 and the free arm 3 are housed in the enclosure 11, in its position shown in FIG. 1, in which the free arm 3 is in the released position above the enclosure 11.
A spring 14, mounted between the underside of the lower frame 2 and the bottom of the enclosure 11, further helps to stabilize the machine in the aforementioned positions of use. Manual movement of the machine from its position shown in FIG. 2 in its position shown in FIG. 1 and vice versa is provided by a lever 24 mounted on a pivot 25 projecting from the longitudinal wall 26 of the lower frame member 2. One of the arms 27 of the lever 24 has a forked free end 28 by which it is articulated to a pivot 29 projecting from the internal face 30 of the enclosure 11, opposite the wall 26 of the lower frame element 2. The other arm of the lever 24 is provided at its free end with a operating handle 31 (see fig. 3).
The pivots 25 and 29 are aligned parallel to the links 7 and 8, so that the arm 27 of the lever 24 pivots parallel to the links 7 and 8 during movement of the machine from its position shown in FIG. 2 in its position shown in FIG. I and vice versa.
