Abstract

The needle guide comprises two elements (1) made from a wear-resistant material, for example corundum, and obtained from a cylindrical section, each element being provided with grooves for guiding needles as well as with a plane bearing surface (4), defined by two generatrices (5, 6) of the cylinder. The two elements are placed in a housing (11) and their spacing is thus strictly defined by the distance between the opposite faces (9, 10) of the housing (11). The cylindrical section is obtained by a known technique requiring less machining compared to polygonal sections. The needle guide is used in the head of fast printers, for example the peripherals of computers. <IMAGE>
