Fig. 1 einen Rasenmäher in schräger Draufsicht,
Fig. 2 von unten gesehen und in
Fig. 3 im Schnitt von der Seite.

The invention relates to a spar-guided lawn mower with a motor-driven cutting unit.
The object of the invention is to create a simple and cheap, but reliably working lawnmower, for the manufacture and assembly of which extremely short working times are required and for the maintenance or partial renewal of wearing parts only a very small effort is required.
It should be noted that a real need of numerous gardeners can be satisfied with such a lawnmower, who had to refrain from using a lawnmower of the previously known construction partly for reasons of profitability partly because of the high purchase price and the necessary maintenance effort.
The lawnmower according to the invention is characterized by a substantially rectangular base plate, e.g. B. made of sheet metal o. Ä., On the long sides of wheels and support rollers and on the narrow sides (front sides) on the one hand the cutting unit, z. B. a cutter bar, and on the other hand, the guide rail are fixed, while the drive motor is on its top and the gear elements for the cutting unit are on its bottom. Preferably, the baseplate is bulged along its central longitudinal line so that a tunnel is created that runs conically in the direction of travel, has a relatively small width in cross section at the front edge of the plate (end face) and increases in width over almost the entire length of the baseplate.
The front opening of the base plate, which is preferably curved in cross section, serves at the same time to introduce the driver fork from the knife to the crank mechanism.
This bulge along the center line of the base plate can be brought about by bending its edge areas and preferably represent a hat profile in cross section.
The opening width of the hat profile expediently increases steadily along the length of the base plate, and its outer, approximately horizontal edges are accordingly steadily narrower, so that the hat profile merges into a U-profile in the last quarter of the base plate.
Further useful configurations of the lawn mower relate to the arrangement of the running wheels and support rollers as well as to the configuration of the transmission for transmitting the torque to the cutting unit, etc.
An embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing and explained below.
The drawing shows in
1 shows a lawn mower in an oblique top view,
Fig. 2 seen from below and in
3 in section from the side.
On the base plate 1 running wheels 2, 3 and support rollers 4, 5 are fixed laterally. Height adjustment is possible by means of a bend 9 of the support roller axis. On the back of the base plate 1 is the guide rail 6 and on its front a cutter bar 7 of commercially available design.
The motor, which is a small internal combustion engine 8 in the example shown, is fixed on its upper side.
From FIGS. 2 and 3, the structure of the extremely simple V-belt drive can be seen. The output 11 of the motor 8, designed as a flywheel 10, has a V-groove 12 by means of which the torque is transmitted via a V-belt 13 to a central reduction pulley 14 with a relatively large circumference. A smaller V-grooved pulley 15 over which a second V-belt 16 runs is arranged coaxially to the pulley 14. This transmits the torque to a further disk 17 rotatably mounted under the base plate, on which the pin 18 is mounted eccentrically. This protrudes into the slot 19 of a rocker 20 and converts the rotary movement of the motor output 11 into a reciprocating movement of the knife blade 21.
The gear elements are all mounted on the underside of the base plate 1 and are protected from dirt and damage by a protective plate 22.
The innovation is not limited to the embodiment shown and described here, but also includes, for. B. those driven by an electric motor.
