Description

The present invention relates to a two-part metal profile with an insulating effect, as it is used in particular for the production of support frames for window and door glazing, and the two parts of which delimiting a cavity are connected to one another by plastic; the invention also relates to a method for producing this profile. In known profiles of this type, the two metal parts are more or less fixed by a plastic intermediate piece, usually an elastomer profile, e.g. B. by jamming, interconnected. This type of connection is not particularly stable, and the insulating effect of these profiles is usually insufficient.

It has therefore already been proposed to fill the cavity formed between the two metal parts, avoiding direct metal contact, with foamable plastic that connects the two metal parts to one another after expanding and hardening. This achieves a good insulating effect, but the plastic foam usually does not guarantee a mechanically perfect connection of the metal parts, and the introduction of the foam compound requires a shape that closes the cavity that is open along the metal part edges.

In contrast, the present invention aims to create an insulating profile of the type mentioned, which of course not only has perfect insulating properties, but also ensures a mechanically perfect connection of the metal parts and enables a particularly simple manufacturing process.

For this purpose, the insulating profile according to the invention is characterized in that its two metallic profile parts are crimped inwards at the free longitudinal edges, the spaced-apart crimped edges of the two pairs of edges each engaging in the legs of a plastic profile having an approximately C-shaped cross-section, during which of the metallic profile parts and the connecting plastic profiles enclosed cavity is filled by plastic foam. The suitably made of a polyamide, for. B. nylon, existing plastic profiles ensure a rigid and secure connection of the metal profile parts, with the plastic foam adhering to all the profile walls delimiting the cavity contributes to the strength of the insulating profile thus created.

On the other hand, plastic profiles and plastic foam ensure perfect insulation between the two metal profile parts. The outwardly opening cavity of the plastic profiles, which is undercut thanks to the C-cross section, allows sealing profiles to be inserted in a simple manner, as are customary when using insulating profiles of the type in question to form sash and stop frames of windows.

The particularly expedient method for producing the said insulating profile, which is also the subject of the invention, is characterized in that the two metal profile parts are connected to one another by means of the two plastic profiles to form a tubular hollow shape, after which a foamable plastic is introduced into this hollow shape and fixed by foaming and curing is adhesively connected to the hollow mold walls. In this way, the insulating profiles can be inserted into
Make standard lengths and then cut to the desired frame parts.

In the following, erfindungsge Permitted profiles and their manufacturing process are explained, for example, with reference to the drawings. In the drawing shows:
Fig. 1 in cross section a first example of the profile,
Fig. 2 in cross section a second example of the profile and
3 shows, in vertical section, a window section formed from further examples of the profile.

The insulating profile shown in Fig. 1 has a first cross-sectionally U-shaped metal profile part 1 and a second flat metal profile part 2 provided with inwardly folded edge parts. The free longitudinal edges la of the profile part 1 are crimped inwards like a hook, while the free longitudinal edges 2a of the profile part 2 are first bent up and are then also crimped inwards like a hook. The two profile parts 1 and 2 are fixedly connected to one another by means of two plastic profiles 3 with a C-shaped cross section, with flanged edges la, 2a that are spaced apart from one another.

The plastic profiles 3, the legs of which are provided with longitudinal slots corresponding to the flanged edges, have an outwardly open T-shaped undercut longitudinal groove 3a, while adhesive ribs 3b are formed on the back of the web of these plastic profiles. The profile tube formed from the metal profile parts 1, 2 and the plastic profiles 3 connecting them is filled with a plastic foam 4 adhering firmly to the walls of the pipe.

As can be seen from this structure, this creates a stable, perfectly insulating profile. The procedure for producing this profile is as follows: First, the plastic profiles 3 are pushed onto the preformed metal profile parts 1 and 2 or their flanged edges la, 2a; This creates a profile tube which is sufficiently stable for further handling and which is used as a hollow shape for foamable plastic to be introduced in liquid form. This plastic, which foams when it is introduced, fills the entire profile cavity perfectly and, after hardening, adheres firmly to the cavity walls, whereby the plastic profiles 3 are immovably connected to the metallic profile parts 1, 2.

An example of a profile constructed in an analogous manner and produced using the same method, as is also used in window and door construction, is shown in FIG.

Although the metal profile parts 11 and 12 are designed somewhat differently than according to FIG. 1, they are connected to one another with the same plastic profiles 3. Here, too, the cavity is filled in a firmly adhering manner by a plastic foam introduced into the tubular shape formed from the parts 11, 12 and 3.

The structure of the sash and stop frame of a window from insulating profiles of the type described above can be seen from FIG. The sash is formed from insulating profiles, which in turn gebil det from the metallic profile parts 21 and 22 and the connecting plastic profiles 3 and are filled with plastic foam 4; this Fen sterflügelrahmen carries in the usual way a Doppelver glazing 5, the profile part 21 is inside and the profile part 22 is outside.

In the undercut in cross-section T-shaped
Groove 3a of the outer plastic profile 3 is anchored up processing profile 6a, the edge lips of this sealing profile completely cover the points of engagement of the edge flange 21a, 22a of the me-metallic profile parts 21, 22 in the legs of the plastic profile 3; the insulating profiles forming the stop frame are made from the metallic profile parts
31, 32 and the connecting plastic profiles 3 ge forms and also filled with plastic foam 4; The profile parts 31 are inside and the profile parts 32 are outside.

In the T-shaped undercut in cross-section groove 3a of the inner plastic profile 3, a sealing profile 6b cooperating with the sealing profile 6a is anchored, which analogously to the sealing profile 6a, the engagement points of
Edge bead 31a, 32a completely covered in the legs of the plastic profile 3.

The production of these insulating profiles forming the wing or the limit frame takes place in the manner described with reference to FIG. H. First, the Kunststoffpro file 3 are pushed onto the edge flange 21a, 22a or 31a, 32a of the metallic profile parts 21, 22 and 31, 32 to be bonded, after which the foamable plastic is filled into the stable tubular shape created in this way; After the plastic foam has hardened, the insulating profiles are mitred, assembled to form a frame and provided with the sealing profiles 6a, 6b by pressing the appropriate anchoring rib into the groove 3a of the plastic profiles 3.
