The invention relates to a loading ramp, the access platform of which is adjustable both in height and in the projection and also adaptable in the width of the loading area of a vehicle resting on the ramp, for which purpose side parts of the above cover part with retractable, each automatically returning to the starting position Tongues are fitted.
Such a loading ramp with tongues is in Switzerland.
U.S. Patent No. 348650. In a known embodiment, the tongues are slidably mounted on rails. According to another known embodiment, the tongue is articulated at the rear end with a slide guided on rollers. The last-mentioned embodiment is structurally complex, but allows a slight pivoting about the joint located on the slide, but only in the fully extended state. As a result, there is a risk of the tongue jamming with both known solutions. This occurs mainly when adjusting the height of the ramp to the truck to be operated, whereby the tongues grazing on the loading bridge misjudged and can jam so that they no longer return to their original position when the ramp is withdrawn.
The object of the invention is to create a tongue that can jam less easily, if at all, and always returns to its starting position.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the tongues are guided in a sliding manner at the rear end of the front part protruding more or less far from the fixed part of the driveway area, while each tongue is articulated at its rear end with a pivot lever, the lower end of which is pivotably mounted below the drive-on platform and connected to a return spring.
It is advantageous if the lower bearing point of the pivot lever is provided with bearing plates with slotted holes that allow the pivot lever to lower itself against the action of the return spring by a certain distance with respect to its normal position, because this further reduces the risk of jamming.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention:
Fig. 1 shows part of a loading ramp in section with a retractable tongue in two end positions and
2 shows the same section, but with a tongue in a central position.
In the drawing, 1 is the front part of an adjustable loading ramp and 11 is its deck, which has a front protruding part 12. In the operating state, the loading ramp is advanced and raised or lowered (as indicated by arrows in FIG. 1) until its protruding part 12 rests on the loading area of the vehicle to be operated. If the loading area of the vehicle is narrower than the loading ramp is wide, one or more of the tongues attached to the side of the ramp are pushed in to a greater or lesser extent.
The front part of the loading ramp is box-shaped and has a front wall 13 which is reinforced at 14.
The protruding part has recesses for tongues 2 on both sides. Here the tongues form the protruding part. The tongues are slidably guided in the gap between the deck 11 and the reinforced wall part 14.
Each tongue 2 has a front part 21 and a stop 22 and is provided with a pivot pin 23 on its rear part. Each tongue is connected by means of the pin 23 to a pivot lever 3, the lower end of which is mounted in a bearing 4 which is fastened to the wall 13. Bearing 4 has side plates which are provided with slotted holes 41 which give the lower pivot pin 31 a certain freedom of movement. The purpose of this additional freedom of movement will be explained later.
On part 14 and on the pivot lever 3 eyelets 15 and 32 are attached, between which a return spring 5 is arranged.
In Fig. 1, two end positions of the tongue are shown; the fully extended position in solid lines, with stop 22 limiting the position. The fully inserted position is shown with broken lines, the front end 21 of the tongue being pushed in until it is flush with the wall 13. The parts 2 and 3 are designated in this position with 2 'and 3'.
Only small forces are required for pushing in and for resetting, since friction (apart from the low pin friction) has to be overcome only in the case of the bearing surface 14.
2 shows a middle insertion position 2 ″ of the tongue 2 when it rests on the truck at any point outside the loading area. In order to avoid jamming of the tongues when the ramp is lowered onto the loading area, they are arranged so that the protruding end can lift a little. When the protruding end of the tongue 2 ″ is raised, its rear end and thus also the pivot lever 3 ″ lowers. The lower end of the pivot lever moves downwards in the slotted hole 41. The position in which the tongue 2 is in the half-pushed-in position 2 '' 'when the pin 31 rests at the top in the slotted hole 41 is indicated in Fig. 2 with broken lines.
The possibility of lifting the outer end of the tongue forms an additional safety factor when retracting the ramp into its starting position, because there is now no longer any risk of the toes of a careless operator being trapped.
