Abstract

The propellant driven tool used for driving bolts or nails has an improved combustion chamber. The tool has a barrel with a driving piston rod and the piston reaches into the combustion chamber which has a readily dismantled breech block. The breech block is withdrawn for loading a caseless powder charge. The charge is exploded by a blow on the rear end of the breech block. The cylindrical housing accommodates in its bore a barrel which has a flange on its muzzle. This barrel can be adjusted to given nail lengths in the housing. A piston rod slides in the barrel and the piston head slides in the housing. The piston carries a percussion element which impinges against the propellant charge.
