Fig. 1 die Aufsicht auf die beschriebene Schaumstoffmatratze,
Fig. 2 die Seitenansicht in Längsrichtung und
Fig. 3 die Seitenansicht in Querrichtung der Matratze gemäss Fig. 1.

Known foam mattresses have the disadvantage that the air circulation in the area of the support surface is poor, so that body moisture is not dissipated or is only dissipated to a very limited extent. This leads to unpleasant side effects and poor lying comfort, especially for people who tend to perspire.
The object of the invention is to provide a foam mattress which provides better lying comfort than previously known mattresses of this type. The object is achieved according to the invention in that the foam mattress is interspersed with ventilation channels running parallel to the support surface, which are connected to the support surface and which open into the front surfaces of the mattress.
The ventilation channels connected to the support surface achieve very good ventilation of the support surface. A good and unhindered exchange of air with the room air takes place at the openings on the side faces of the mattress.
In the following an embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail with reference to the drawing.
Show it:
Fig. 1 is a plan view of the foam mattress described,
Fig. 2 shows the side view in the longitudinal direction and
3 shows the side view in the transverse direction of the mattress according to FIG. 1.
According to the figures, a mattress 1 with longitudinal channels 2 and transverse channels 3 crossing the longitudinal channels is traversed. The channels are connected to the support surface 5 via slots 4 and run parallel to the support surface.
The longitudinal channels 2 open into the longitudinal end faces 6 and 7, while the transverse channels 3 open into the transverse end faces 8 and 9.
In the exemplary embodiment shown, the channels have a triangular cross-section, with a triangular tip merging into the channel 4. However, the channel cross-section is not limited to the triangular shape, but other cross-sectional shapes, such as, for example, the circular shape, can also be used. However, the triangular shape has a particularly good support function with respect to the support surface 5. The channels can be produced by burning, milling, sawing or other known methods.
The distance between the channels and their distribution over the mattress surface can in principle be arbitrary. In a particularly advantageous manner, the channels on parts of the mattress that are to be heavily stressed can be less close to one another than on other parts that are less stressed.
For example, according to FIG. 1, the channels can generally have a uniform distance d from one another, while they have a greater distance e in the area of the buttocks support. The channels can also be in curve form, e.g. B. with a variable distance from each other, and not as shown in Fig. 1 in the form of a straight line.
A mattress made of polyether foam with a volume weight of 40 kg / m3 and a load capacity of 70 kg has resulted in particularly good comfort properties (qual.
SH 40.70), the length of which was 190 cm with 10 transverse channels and the width of 90 cm with 5 longitudinal channels.
The channels were in the shape of an equilateral triangle with a side length of 5 cm. The distance a of the triangular base from the support surface 5 according to FIG. 2 was about 37% of the mattress thickness b. The mattress had a relatively high degree of flexibility and, thanks to the good ventilation, through which no diffusion vapor formed, it was very comfortable to lie on.
