The present invention relates to an installation for fragmentation of scrap composed of a cooling tunnel provided with an entrance door and an exit door, a conveying device, a crushing device and 'a sorting device.
Belgian patent N 718599 sets out the problems posed by the recovery of materials constituting scrap from all sources such as end-of-life motor cars, downgraded household and industrial appliances, industrial by-products, etc. Regardless of the economic interest of such recovery, the imperative need for the systematic elimination of this waste, the quantities of which are constantly increasing, requires the search for practical and economic solutions.
And it has been proposed to solve this problem by means of a method of fragmentation of the scrap, characterized by a precompression operation with a view to reducing the apparent volume of this scrap to then subject them to cooling by contact with liquid nitrogen up to temperatures between 60 C to 120 ° C and preferably between 80 C and 1005 C, then at these temperatures, fragment the scrap by a simple operation of low compression or ramming or threshing.
The aim of the invention is to make improvements to this installation.
For this purpose, the installation for the fragmentation of scrap according to the invention is characterized in that the cooling tunnel consists of an introduction enclosure closed by the entrance door. and is provided with a suction with an exhaust chimney, with a precooling enclosure comprising elements together forming a heat-insulated box.
a fully insulated cooling enclosure comprising a wetting tank placed at a level lower than that of the tunnel and a device for supplying the cooling liquid, and terminated by an exit door, itself preceded by an enclosure of conveyor provided with rollers for driving the bales, in that the conveying device comprises a conveyor made up of a roller bearing bringing the bales from the cooling tunnel to a hammer mill and grids which rejects large non-ferrous dimension at its upper part and the fragmented scrap at its lower part and in that the sorting device comprises a magnetic sorting drum for the fragmented scrap.
This installation optionally comprises a compacting device placed at the entrance of the tunnel for preparing the bundles, but according to a preferred form of the installation, this compacting device is independent of the installation itself.
One embodiment of the installation, object of the invention, will be described. by way of example, with reference to the appended drawing in which:
Fig. 1 is a schematic view of the first part of the installation shown with the compacting device which is normally independent of the installation itself.
Fig. 2 is a schematic view of the second part of the installation, and
fig. 3 is a schematic view of the third part of the installation.
In fig. 1, we see a baling press 1 comprising three pistons 2, 2 'and 2 "each acting in one direction, the piston 2 returning the scrap introduced into a funnel 3 through the opening 4 provided with a cover 5, in the 'axis of a cooling tunnel 6, the entry thereof being controlled by a liftable door 7 actuated by its own mechanism or by means of a grab 8 on a gantry 9 of the conveying device; of course, in in this case, the gantry extends beyond the cooling tunnel and takes place right through the tunnel.
The first piston 2 of the press 1 is placed at the lateral end of the funnel 3 and acts perpendicularly and horizontally with respect to the tunnel 6 so as to return and laterally compress the scrap in the axis of the tunnel 6. The second piston 2 'acts perpendicularly and vertically with respect to the tunnel 6 so as to compress the scrap from top to bottom once it is in the axis of the tunnel; the third piston 2 "is placed in the plane and axis of the tunnel 6 and therefore compresses the scrap in a third direction.
We obtain boots of a more or less constant presentation whose elements are perfectly crumpled. Of course, this result can be obtained by a mobile press or a stationary press located at a location different from that of the installation itself, as one can conceive that, for the ease of the transport of the scrap, and that by example mainly in the case of old cars, it may be advantageous to reduce the volume at the point of collection, to perfect the compression at a main collection center, or at the same place where the installation is located proper.
If the installation does not include a fixed press, the tunnel will simply have a retractable entrance door for the introduction of the boots as well as a pusher device to move them forward in the tunnel, while at On the contrary, when a fixed press is provided in the installation, the piston placed in the plane and the axis of the tunnel advances the boots in the tunnel.
The cooling tunnel 6 is made up of the following parts (fig. 1 and 2): - an enclosure 9 'for introducing the boots into the tunnel, to
view of an entrance door 7 and a suction device 10 'with
an exhaust chimney 10; - a precooling chamber 11 composed of a certain
number of elements together forming an insulated box
of a certain length; - a cooling chamber 12 composed of a tank of
wetting 16 and a device for supplying the liquid
cooling, this enclosure being terminated by a door of
retractable outlet 22; - a conveying enclosure; - a control and regulation device for all
the cooling installation.
The introduction enclosure 9 ′ is generally of rectangular section because it is intended to channel the boots in the tunnel, it is made of sheet steel of good thickness; however, it is not necessary to heat this part of the tunnel.
In order to facilitate the movement of the boots, an inclined plane can be provided which brings the boots on guide rails arranged all along the tunnel.
The suction device 10 'is fixed to the upper part of this enclosure 9', it is responsible for evacuating the gases from the cooling liquid coming from the wetting tank; the suction with which this device is provided is provided with an adjustment key which makes it possible to play on the flow rate of the gas stream existing inside the tunnel, and the extent of the pre-cooling can thus be adjusted.
The precooling enclosure 11 which follows the introduction enclosure 9 ′ is made up of a number of elements welded to each other and forming a long corridor made of sheet steel of good thickness, fully insulated for example. by a layer of polyurethane foam, itself surrounded by a sheet steel casing also of good thickness but however generally less than that of the first.
Each of the elements is fitted with rails for guiding the boots, but any other interior roughness is carefully avoided.
Two inspection doors 14 are provided for each of the elements in the lower part, which are used for the extraction of the dross which would come off the boots. In addition, at the top of each of these elements, there is provided at least one large removable cover 15 making it possible to extract the boots from the tunnel 6 in the event of, for example, a temporary defect in the installation or, for example, in the event of accidental blocking of the boots in the tunnel 6.
The cooling chamber 12 is composed of a mooring tank 16, placed at a level lower than that of the whole of the tunnel 6, two sides of which are inclined, one through which the boots enter, the other through which take out the boots; in addition, the shape of this tank is provided so as to possibly ensure complete immersion of the boots.
This tank which receives the refrigerant liquid which is usually liquid nitrogen, is made entirely of austenitic steel of good thickness, the insulation of which is provided for example by a thick layer of polyurethane foam and an outer wall of sheet metal. preferably ribbed steel to ensure the perfect fit of the whole.
In any case, the insulation layer must be sufficiently thick so as to avoid refrigeration losses and prevent any icing of the outer wall. On the other hand, the regulation of the immersion height is provided by an external well in communication with the level of liquid nitrogen.
For the total emptying of the tank, an orifice placed at the low point of the tank is regulated by a valve; moreover, to allow the control of the fouling of the tank and its possible cleaning, there is provided at a level lower than the boots, an inspection door 21 making it possible to remove the dirt which would have come loose from the boots.
The supply of coolant to this tank is provided by a ramp 17, which may or may not be dismantled, placed at the upper part of the cooling chamber 12; the actual diffusion being obtained by a series of nozzles distributed over the entire length of the ramp 17 and ensuring the cooling of the boots from the inlet to the outlet of the dampening tank. The removable ramp is connected to a refrigerant liquid storage tank 18, this tank is placed laterally to the tunnel, the supply duct 19 being provided with a valve 20 regulating the arrival of the refrigerant liquid.
At the top of the cooling chamber 12, several covers 15 of large size, that is to say sufficient for the passage of a boot, give the possibility of possibly removing the latter in the event of damage or damage. 'incident to the device.
The cooling enclosure 12 ends with a new small corridor 13 at level with the first corridor 11 (precooling enclosure), provided with a number of preferably crenellated rollers of austenitic steel or other material capable of withstanding the temperature. bundles, rollers which drive the bundles which come up from the immersion tank, which are controlled by a motor and thus ensure the path of the bundles towards the exit door 22 which ends the cooling chamber.
In order to protect these rollers in the event of accidental jamming, an electromagnetic coupling can be provided which limits the expected drive torque.
The operation of the outlet door 22 is carried out by a jack which ensures correct closing of the cooling chamber, which is essential if one wishes to avoid refrigeration losses.
This maneuver is preferably carried out in two stages; detachment by a first lateral movement maneuver, complete disengagement by a second horizontal movement maneuver.
In addition, to prevent damage to the actuator and the fasteners by interposing metal debris which could accumulate at the lower part of the closing door, they are protected by a spring device.
In order to be able to clean the small corridor comprising the rollers, a drawer actuated by a jack is placed under them, which collects the dirt detached from the boots when they pass over the rollers. It will therefore suffice to remove the drawer from time to time to easily remove this dirt.
A conveyor 23 collects the bundles coming out of the tunnel composed of a bearing located level with the rest of the tunnel and carrying a number of rollers 24, preferably notched, the first of which at least are made of austenitic steel or other material resistant to temperature of the boots and of the cold that comes out of the tunnel when the exit door 22 is opened. These rollers are driven by a motor, and protected against the risk of accidental blocking by a device limiting the drive torque identical to the one provided for the rollers in the small corridor.
A robustly constructed mobile arm actuated by a jack identical for example to the one fitted to the exit door, laterally ejects the boots from the bearing. However, it is possible to provide a bearing ending in an inclined plane 25 which leads the bundles directly towards the funnel 26 of the crusher 28. Particular care will be taken to ensure that the movement of the arm does not cause any damage to the bearing carrying the rollers.
Another conveying device, composed of a gantry 9 on which moves over the entire length of the tunnel, a grapple 8 is used for the various maneuvers of movement and opening of both the entrance door 7 and the door exit 22 of the tunnel, the lifting of the covers 15 placed throughout the upper part of the tunnel, the possible extraction of the boots from the tunnel and their removal on one side or the other of this tunnel.
It is therefore necessary to provide a gantry 9 sufficiently strong for these various maneuvers. It is quite certain that one can either provide a mobile gantry moving all along the tunnel so as to bring the gripping means above the element to be moved, or on the contrary, to provide an element of grip moving along the beam of a fixed gantry. A control and regulation device for the entire cooling installation is placed in an electrical cabinet which groups together the various start-up and control devices and in particular a temperature reader which makes it possible to know the thermal curve in each case. point of the cooling tunnel.
A crushing device 28 composed of a funnel 26 collects the bundles ejected from the bearing by the movable arm, which is placed on the side of the tunnel, or placed in the axis of the tunnel when the bundles simply fall by the inclined plane which ends. the landing.
The funnel 26 is elongated in shape and brings the bundles under the action of a mechanical or hydraulic pusher 27, acting axially towards a hammer and screen mill 28. This crusher 28 rejects at its upper part 29, large non-ferrous materials such as wires, cables, seat springs, etc., onto a conveyor belt 30 which leads these rejected elements to an evacuation site. At its lower part 31, the crusher 28 delivers the fragmented scrap which is brought by another conveyor belt 32 to the sorting zone where a magnetic sorting drum 33 is provided which classifies the scrap into two categories, non-ferrous fine ground and fine ground ferrous material, i.e. the product called cryogenic scrap.
The crusher 28 operates thanks to an independent motor 34 which also controls the conveyor belts 32, moreover the crusher 28 comprises a suction chimney 35 for the removal of dust.
In order to facilitate the action of the crusher, provision can be made to introduce at the same time as the cooled bundles, a certain amount of turnings.
The press 1 can be fixed and form part of the device, as has just been described, or on the contrary, it can be mobile and bundles are then prepared in different places by means of mobile presses or independent fixed presses. which are routed to the fragmentation device itself.
