La fig. 1 est une vue en coupe transversale de cette forme d'exécution;
la fig. 2 en est une vue de côté, montrant l'excentricité du vernier;

The present invention relates to a micrometric adjustment key for adjusting the tools of a machine tool, for example a revolver.
Currently, the adjustment of a tool mounted on the turret of a revolver is carried out empirically by first unscrewing the lock nut, then by roughly adjusting the position of the tool by means of the adjustment screw, then by locking the lock nut of this screw and finally by restarting the revolver to produce a machined part and measure it to check if the tool has the correct position. Then the adjustment operation must be repeated several times until the part to be machined has the correct dimension. This empirical process is currently to be carried out for each of the six tools of a turret-revolver, for example, which takes a very long adjustment time, especially if the dimensions to be produced on the workpiece have tight tolerances to be observed.
Today, therefore, there is no micrometric adjustment of the tool possible with the current adjustment system, consisting of an adjustment screw provided by its lock nut.
It should also be mentioned that the fact, after an adjustment carried out by means of the adjustment screw, of currently having to strongly tighten the lock nut of this screw, to prevent it from unscrewing, strongly modifies the adjustment of the screw and that must therefore be taken into account empirically when adjusting the screw, which makes the adjustment more difficult and above all longer and therefore excludes any effective micrometric adjustment.
The object of the present invention is therefore to eliminate these numerous empirical adjustments which are tedious, are the cause of a great loss of time and which are also to be redone each time the normal wear of the tools requires it and to replace all these adjustments by a single micrometric adjustment this time, fast, simple and pleasant to achieve.
To this end, the micrometric adjustment key according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises two clamping tubes engaging one into the other and a vernier-drum, the whole being arranged so that the adjustment end of the adjustment screw of a tool can be operated micrometrically while the lock nut ensuring the position of this adjustment screw is maintained in the tightened position during said adjustment, and this by establishing a value tightening determined and constant between the adjustment screw and its lock nut.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a cross-sectional view of this embodiment;
fig. 2 is a side view, showing the eccentricity of the vernier;
fig. 3 is a partial plan view, and
fig. 4 is an enlarged sectional view of a detail.
The micrometric adjustment wrench shown comprises two clamping tubes I and 2, which engage one into the other. The adjustment of the adjustment screw 4 of a mounted tool, for example on the turret of a revolver, can be carried out while the locknut 3 of this adjustment screw 4 is held in the tightened position by the ron delle-fan 5.
The micrometric adjustment key comprises a tightening handle 7 of the locknut 3, tightening which takes place by means of the friction coupling formed by the spring 6 acting on the parts 1 and 7, and a vernier-drum 8 with its eccentric reduction device formed by the pinions 9 and 10. This vernier allows a reading to l / 100mm, the graduated drum 8 being driven by the pipe wrench 2, this by means of the reduction device. The vernier also moves in front of a mark engraved on the block secured to the pipe wrench 1. The zeroing consists in simply sliding, by means of its knurled part, the vernier-drum 8 on the pinion 10, and this thanks to the precision O-ring 11, ensuring a smooth friction between parts 8 and 10.
Thus, the adjustment of the tools is no longer done empirically in several times, thanks to the micrometric adjustment at 11100mu of the adjustment screw 4, but practically in one go because the adjustment can now be carried out with the locknut remaining tight, this by the combined work of the friction coupling, made up of parts 1, 6 and 7 and of the star washer 5 ensuring the tightening of a determined and always constant value, between the lock nut 3 and the adjusting screw 4. It should be noted here that the friction coupling is blocked, that is to say that it does not slip, when one has to loosen the lock nut, which is important.
When it comes to making new settings to machine other totally different parts, the adjustment screws 4 will have to be screwed or unscrewed several centimeters and it is then more advantageous to unscrew the counter- nuts and tighten them only for fine adjustments made with the micrometric wrench.
It is understood that the micrometric adjustment key described allows the adjustment of the working tools of a revolver, for example, in a precise, rapid and simple manner, that this micrometric adjustment key is used as a separate tool of a machine tool, or that its device described is mounted on the machine tool permanently, that is to say that it is an integral part of the machine tool.
