Abstract
A mixture of water and detergent or other chemical suitable for washing cars is produced by in-line metering/mixing device. Fresh water from household supply is connected to a branch and the flow is split into two (A and B). One branche (A) feeds a nozzle which discharge into a collector and a line. Another branch is connected to the detergent container and flow is induced by the ejector action of the nozzle. Flow round the branch (B) is controlled by a lock with a handle. The two flows recombine in the throat and then discharge into those connection to the car. The relative amounts of water passing via the two branches (A) and (B) is determined by the opening of the lock. This in turn determines the amount of additive entering the water, since high flow through the nozzle induces a large amount of additive while low flow gives a small amount. The whole unit is made in plastic.
Description
Fig. 1 das Mischgerät in schematischer Darstellung,

The invention relates to a liquid mixing device, in particular for adding a cleaning agent for washing cars.
Cleaning cars is cumbersome and time consuming, even if special detergents are used as an additive to the water.
The liquid mixing device according to the invention is intended to simplify this work and is characterized in that it has a line branching with subsequent two parallel branch pieces, one branch piece being provided with a conical driving nozzle which protrudes into a conical collecting nozzle which is connected to a jet mixing pipe piece, which leads to a venturi-like constriction, that a lateral feed line is provided for an admixture liquid to the area of the collecting nozzle, and that the other branch piece is provided with a regulating valve and is connected to the branch piece before the constriction.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing. Show it:
Fig. 1 the mixer in a schematic representation,
2 shows the mixer in its housing, connected to a washing device.
The liquid mixer is used for the automatic dosing of chemical reagents to water flowing through it and is particularly intended for cleaning motor vehicles. It is provided with a plastic housing 1 and is connected to a water tap 2 (Fig. 2). The connection piece 3 has a branch with two subsequent parallel branches 4, 5 (FIG. 1). The branch piece 4 is provided with a conical driving nozzle 6.
This protrudes into a conical catching nozzle 7 which is connected to a jet mixing pipe section 8 which leads to a venturi-nozzle-like constriction 9. A lateral feed line 10 for a liquid to be mixed leads into the area of the collecting nozzle 7. This feed line 10 is provided with a non-return valve, not shown in the drawing. The branch piece 5 has a regulating valve 11 and is connected to the branch piece 4 in front of the constriction 9. At the end of the same a hose line 13 provided with a shower brush 12 is connected (FIG. 2).
If the regulating valve 11 is closed, the entire flow pressure acts on the branch piece 4, so that the greatest negative pressure arises in the collecting nozzle 7, which allows the greatest possible amount of liquid to flow from the supply line 10. A mixed liquid with the greatest dosage now flows in the hose line 13. By partially opening the regulating valve 11, the dosage becomes smaller. When the regulating valve 11 is fully open, the pressure difference in the branch 4 is smallest, so that the back pressure of the water from the branch 5 is greater than the negative pressure in the collecting nozzle 7. So that no water can flow out into the lateral supply line 10, this is provided in front of the catch nozzle 7 with the check valve. When the regulating valve 11 is completely open, only water (without admixture) flows through the hose line 13.
The liquid mixing device described enables the desired dosage of a cleaning liquid to be set with the handle 14 of the regulating valve 11 and to switch to water without admixture, which is necessary for rinsing at the end of the cleaning process.
