Aminoisodibenzanthron, Aminodibenzanthron, Aminoanthanthron, Aminoflavanthron, Aminopyranthron.

Pad-Jig-, Pad-steam-, Kaltverweilverfahren u.a. erfolgen.

It has been found that valuable, non-metallizable dyes are obtained if heterocyclic compounds consisting of a six-membered ring with 3 ring nitrogen atoms and 3 reactive substituents bonded to ring carbon atoms in any order with connectable polycyclic quinones which are free of SO3H groups and which have acylatable amino groups , and a non-metallizable azo dye containing a hydroxyl or acylatable amino group is condensed in such a way that vat dyes are formed which have an azo dye in addition to two chromophores that can be vetted.
So you can use a triazine, especially one of the formula
EMI1.1
where Y ,, Y2 and Y3 each have an easily removable substituent (such as a methanesulfonyl, benzenesulfonyl, SO3H group, an etherified mercapto group, an Rl-CS-S group (Rl amino or alkyl), and also a sulfinic acid or a Ammonium or a hydrazinium grouping, but especially a halogen atom, such as a chlorine or bromine atom), in any order with an acylatable group, in particular an acylatable amino or hydroxyl group, non-metallizable azo dye, ie
one which is free of salt-forming groups on both sides of the azo bridge adjacent to this, capable of metal complex formation, and polycyclic quinones containing acylatable amino groups and free of SO3H groups in a molecular ratio of 1: 1: 2 condense.
Suitable heterocyclic reactive compounds having 3 ring nitrogen atoms in the present process are primarily 1,3,5-triazine compounds, in particular those of the formula (1). Examples of such triazine compounds are:
2,4,6-trichloro-1, 3, 5-triazine or 2,4,6-tribromo-1, 3, 5-triazine.
According to the invention, these heterocycles are used to condense polycyclic quinones which have acylatable groups and which are free from SO3H groups in a molar ratio of 1: 2.
The term “connectable quinone” encompasses those chromophores which are converted into a so-called leuco form or vat by reduction, which has a better affinity for natural or regenerated cellulose fibers than the non-reduced form and which can be returned to the original chromophoric system by oxidation . No polycyclic quinones of the 1-amino-4-arylaminoanthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid type are used in the present process, because although they can be reduced, they are chemically modified so strongly by the reduction that they no longer fit into the original chromophoric system get convicted.
As examples of polycyclic quinones which can be linked and which have an acylatable amino group, the following may be mentioned:
Perylentetracarbonsäureimide, especially the phenylimides, anthrapyrimidines, anthrapyridones, Isothiazolanthrone, Chinazolinanthrachinone, Oxazolanthrachinone, Thiazolanthrachinone, Oxdiazolanthrachinone, Anthrachinonyltriazole, Pyrazolanthrachinone, Dipyrazolanthronyle, Pyrazinoanthrachinone, Azabenzanthrone, indanthrones, thioxane thonanthrachinone, anthrimides hinone Anthrimidcarbazole, dihydroacridines, anthanthrones, pyranthrones, dibenzopyrene, dibenzanthrones , Isodibenzanthrones, Flavanthrones, Acedianthrones and especially Anthraquinone Acridones and Lie Anthraquinones themselves, which not only mean derivatives with pure 9,10-dioxoanthracene rings.
but also those with thiophanthrone residues and the like, as well as anthraquinone compounds which have 9, 10-dioxoanthracene rings which have the usual substituents. such as. Halogen atoms, alkoxy groups, alkyl groups, sulfonic acid amide groups, sulfonic groups and acylamino groups and, if appropriate, further condensed and condensed carbocyclic and heterocyclic rings can contain. As examples, one mentioned: 4-Aminoanthraquinone-2, 1 (N) -acridone, 4,4'-, 4,5 '- or 5,5'-diamino-1, 1' -dianthrimidcarbazole, aminopyranthrone, mono- and Diaminoacedianthrone.
Aminoisodibenzanthrone, aminodibenzanthrone, aminoanthanthrone, aminoflavanthrone, aminopyranthrone.
4-, 5- or 8-amino-1, 1'-dianthrimide carbazole, 4- or 5-amino-5 ¯benzoylamino dianthrimide carbazole, l-amino-4'-benzoylamino dianthrimide carbazole, aminodibenzpyrenquinone, also mono- and diaminotrianthrimide, e.g.

As non-metallizable hydroxy or aminoazo dyes, i.e. As azo dyes which are free from salt-forming groups on both sides of the azo bridge adjacent to this group capable of forming metal complexes, both sulfonic acid group-containing and preferably sulfonic acid group-free monoazo dyes are suitable in the present process. These monoazo dyes can belong to the most varied of classes; so you can choose aminobenzoylazopyrazolones, aminobenzolazonaphthole, 4-benzene-azo-1 aminophenyl-3-methyl- or -3-carboxy-5-pyrazolone as starting azo dyes.
However, particularly valuable results are obtained with the aminoazo dyes of the formula
EMI2.4
187 and the hydroxyazo dyes of the formula HO-B 1-N = N-B2,
191 where n is an integer with a value of at most 5, B and B2 each have a maximum tricyclic aryl radical, especially a sulfonic acid and carboxyl group-free benzene or naphthalene radical, which is located in the vicinity of the azo bridge and / or the -NH- or OH- Group has a non-salt-forming substituent, in particular a low molecular weight alkyl group. These azo dyes are easily obtained by known methods by coupling e.g.
Phenols or naphthols, aniline, N-methylaniline, o- or m-toluidine, o- or m-anisidine, cresidine or naphthylamine with diazo compounds from 2-aminobenzothiazole, dehydrothiotoluidine, aniline, cu- and, B-naphthylamine, o- and m-toluidine , Cresidin, nitraniline, o-, m- or p-chloroaniline, dichloroaniline, their sulfonic acids and the like. Or by saponification of the monoazo dyes obtained from acylaminoanilines and pyrazolones or naphthols or 2 hydroxynaphthoic acid amides.
The synthesis of the dyes according to the invention is carried out by reacting the specified heterocycles, e.g. of 2,4,6 trichloro-1, 3, 5-triazines, with the aminobzw in question. Hydroxy compounds.
Since the dyes according to the invention carry two groups which can be linked, these can either be identical or different from one another. So it is i.a. possible to achieve valuable mixed tones by combining two different kinds of linkable connections. For example, the combination of aminoanthraquinone with aminophthaloylacridone leads to green to olive green color bodies. If the linkable compound carries at least two amino groups and the conversion takes place with a heterocyclic compound which also contains at least 2 condensable substituents, then the representation of di- or possibly polymeric color bodies is also possible.
The sequence of implementation of the components can usually be selected as desired. E.g. the amino or hydroxyazo compounds are first reacted with the reactive heterocyclic compound and then reacted with the linkable compounds.
However, it is also possible to first react the heterocycle with the vettable compounds and only later to condense these reaction products with the amino or hydroxyazo compounds. The condensations with the quinones which can be connected are advantageously carried out in the warmth.
Depending on the type and sequence, aqueous systems (e.g. water / acetone) or organic solvents such as nitrobenzene, di- or trichlorobenzenes, dimethylaniline, N-methyl-pyrrolidone, pyridine, etc. are used as media for the reaction.
or possibly phenol in question. In certain cases it can be advantageous to add compounds to the reactions which promote the removal of the HCI formed, e.g. tertiary bases (pyridine etc.) or dimethylformamide. In some cases it can also be expedient to pass a gentle stream of air or nitrogen through the reaction mixture for the duration of the reaction.
The dyes according to the invention can also be prepared by a variant of the cited process, which consists in choosing the corresponding halogen compounds as starting materials instead of chromophores containing amino groups (e.g. chloranthraquinone instead of aminoanthraquinone) and condensing these with heterocycles which have a six-membered ring with 3 ring nitrogen atoms and 3 ring carbon atoms contain bound reactive amino groups. Triaminotriazines in particular should be mentioned as such heterocycles. So you can e.g. an azo dye of the formula
EMI2.5
condense with halogen anthraquinones to give vat dyes according to the invention.
The preparation of dyes according to the invention by coupling is possible in those cases where a linkable amino compound has been condensed with the heterocyclic compound and with an amine which, in addition to the condensable site, also has a coupling-related site or a diazotizable site.
The dyes obtained by the present process are new. They are suitable for dyeing a wide variety of materials, but in particular for dyeing or printing textile materials made of natural or regenerated cellulose by the usual vat dyeing and printing processes. The dyeings and prints obtained in this way are distinguished by excellent light and wet fastness properties.
What is surprising about the new dyes is the fact that they can be applied as vat dyes despite the presence of the azo group, which can be reduced per se. It should be particularly emphasized that according to the present process, inter alia
Receives dyes whose application is independent of the temperature. In addition, the azo part allows the color shade to be influenced.
The application can be carried out according to various methods, e.g. Exhaust process, but also according to the now generally known semi-continuous or fully continuous pad-dyeing processes, e.g. Pad jig, pad steam, cold dwell processes, etc. respectively.
In certain cases, the dyes are also suitable for dyeing synthetic fibers made from so-called polyamides or occasionally also for dyeing polyester fibers, in particular by the thermosol process.
The dyeings obtained with the dyes according to the invention which have at least two anthraquinone units are also fast to dry cleaning and fast to migration. The dyed fabrics can therefore be coated with synthetic resins, for example with polyvinyl chloride, without the dye migrating into the plastic, which is particularly important in the manufacture of synthetic leather.
Individual representatives can also be used as pigments for a wide variety of paint colors and also for coloring synthetic resins.

7.8 parts of the reaction product of 1 mole of cyanuric chloride with 2 moles of 1-amino-4-phenylmercapto-anthraquinone are in 80 parts of nitrobenzene together with 2.6 parts of 4 oxy-2'-methyl-4'-chloroazobenzene and 0, 1 part of pyridine is heated to boiling while stirring. The mixture is kept at this reaction temperature for 2 hours, while the hydrochloric acid formed is removed from time to time by passing a stream of nitrogen or air through it.
The mixture is allowed to cool to room temperature, filtered, washed with nitrobenzene and then with methanol and dried under reduced pressure.
4.0 parts of the dye of the constitution obtained in this way
EMI14.1
are added in small portions and with vigorous stirring to 50 parts of 100% sulfuric acid. After the end of the introduction, the mixture is stirred for a further 5 hours and the reaction mixture is then poured onto a 5% strength ice / saline solution.
It is filtered, washed with 5% NaCl solution and then with a little ice water until neutral and dried in vacuo.
A red-colored powder of a dye is obtained which contains one sulfo group per mole. The dye obtained in this way has a significantly better drawability than the unsulphurised starting product and dyes cotton in yellow-red shades.
Staining example
In a dyebath containing, in 400 parts of water, 0.8 part of an adduct of 9 moles of ethylene oxide and 1 mole of nonylphenol and 2 parts of a 5% dispersion of the dye described in Example 13, dyeing is started at 30 "in a high-temperature dyeing machine 10 parts of polyester tricot fabric (textured polyester fabric Crimplene). The pH of the liquor is 7.0. The temperature is increased to 120 ° in 15 minutes, a pressure of about 2 atmospheres being created. The dyeing is carried out for 45 minutes at 120 " and then cooled to 65 "within 10 minutes.
The textile material is then rinsed with cold water and dried. A red dyeing with excellent lightfastness is obtained.
Dyeing instructions:
1 part of dye is vetted with 10 parts by volume of 36 "Be" sodium hydroxide solution and 5 parts of sodium hydrosulfite in 200 parts of water at 50 to 70 ". The above stock vat is added to a dyebath which contains, in 2000 parts of water, 5 parts by volume of 36 lye sodium hydroxide solution and 3.7 parts of sodium hydrosulfite, and 100 parts of cotton are added at 40 ". After 10 minutes, 15 parts of sodium chloride are added 20 minutes a further 15 parts and dyeing takes 40 hours, after which the cotton is squeezed off, oxidized and finished as usual.
Pigment coloring:
5 parts of dye (e.g. from one of Examples 1, 10, 15, 16, 34, 38) are mixed with 95 parts of dioctyl phthalate and ground in a ball mill until the dye particles are smaller than 3 seconds.
0.8 parts of this dioctyl phthalate paste are mixed with 13 parts of polyvinyl chloride, 7 parts of dioctyl phthalate, 0.1 part of cadmium stearate and 1 part of titanium dioxide and then rolled out on a two-roll mill at 140 "for 5 minutes.
Regulation for paint coloring
40 parts of a nitrocellulose lacquer, 2.357 parts of titanium dioxide and 0.125 part of dye (e.g. from one of Examples 1, 15, 16, 34, 38) are ground for 16 hours in a rod mill. The paint obtained is spread in a thin layer on an aluminum foil.
