So erreicht man mit 10%a ebenfalls ausgezeich nete Effekte.

The subject of the claim of the main patent is a process for the wash-resistant flame-retardant treatment of textiles consisting entirely or partially of natural and / or regenerated cellulose fibers, which is characterized in that these textiles with aqueous liquors, which with a liquor absorption of 60 to 80% to 200 g / 1 trisaziridinylphosphine oxide, at least 10 g / 1 cyanamide and at least 20 g / 1 of an ammonium salt of phosphoric, amidosulfonic, sulfuric or nitric acid, treated and then condensed at elevated temperature.
It has now been found that even better results are obtained if compounds of the formula I are used instead of trisaziridinylphosphine oxide
EMI0001.0006
where a is a number from 0.1 to 2.6, b is a number from 0.3 to 2, c is a number from 0 to 1, the sum a + b + c = 3, and / or of the formula II
EMI0001.0007
where a is a number from 1.0 to 1.8 and b is a number from 0.2 to 1.0, the sum a + b = 2, the indices indicating average values of the methylamido, ethyleneimido and amido groups, used. These compounds are known, for example, from the Dutch Offenlegungsschrift 68 09 569 and Swiss patent 481257.
From the German Auslegeschrift 1 234 671 it is known to use halomethanephosphonic acid dialkylenimides as flame retardants for fiber material. Catalytic amounts of ammonium phosphates can be added to the equipment liquors. Apart from the fact that the flame retardants used have a different structure than the compounds used in the process of the present patent application, the use of cyanamide is also not mentioned in the German interpretation. The disadvantages of the prior art are in particular the unsatisfactory wash resistance of the flame retardant effects obtained. In addition, the embrittlement and the tendency to yellowing of textiles finished in this way are disadvantages.
From the Dutch laid-open specification 69 15 227 a two-stage process for the flame-retardant finishing of textiles is known, the material being treated in the 1st stage with a textile finish of cyanamide phosphoric acid, then dried and cured at elevated temperature and in the 2nd stage with an aziridinylphosphine oxide treated, dried again and hardened at an elevated temperature. This known method is two-stage and thus awkward Lich. In addition, large amounts of treatment agents are required, so that the finished goods have an uncomfortably hard feel. In spite of the large amounts used, the flame retardant finish does not provide satisfactory boil-wash resistance in this known process.
It was surprising that the wash resistance of a flame retardant finish with these compounds can be improved in the same way by combining them with cyanamide and ammonium salts of phosphoric, amidosulfonic, sulfuric and / or nitric acid. The process according to the invention succeeds in achieving excellent wash-resistant flame-retardant effects with significantly lower amounts of substituted aziridinylphosphine oxides of the formulas I and II than when these substituted aziridinylphosphine oxides are used alone.
It is surprising that the effects according to the invention can only be achieved if cyanamide is present in the finishing liquor, while replacing the cyanamide with similar compounds such as dicyandiamide, guanidine or guanidine salts significantly reduces the washing resistance of the flame-retardant effects .
The amount of the compounds I and / or II required to achieve wash-resistant flame-retardant effects depends on the one hand on the liquor pick-up and the weight of the goods on the cellulose material and on the other hand on the washing resistance of the flame-retardant effects desired. The amounts of compounds of the formulas I and / or II preferably used per liter of the finishing liquor are between about 60 and 80%, 150 to 300 g, in particular 150 to 260 g, when the textile material has a liquor pickup. The amount of ammonium salts should be greater than 2% based on the amount of compounds of the formulas I and / or 1I used. The amount of cyanamide must be more than 1% based on the equipment fleet, in particular more than 2.5%.
The upper limit for the concentration of cyanamide is not critical. Excellent effects are also achieved with 10% a. The ammonium salts of phosphoric acid and / or amidosulfonic acid are preferably used as ammonium salts.
To ensure the stability of the equipment liquor, it should have a pH value between 5.5 and 8.5, in particular 7 to 8, with these pH values around 7 ensuring the stability of the equipment liquor even over several days at room temperature is. At pH values of the liquor that are below or above the preferably specified limit, hydrolytic cleavage or further condensation occurs, which can lead to a substantial reduction in the stability of the liquor and thus to a reduction in the flame-retardant effect. The liquor pH can be corrected by customary means, but in particular by ammonia or the corresponding acids.
As cellulose materials, all materials consisting wholly or partly of cellulose fibers, but in particular textiles which consist entirely or predominantly of cellulose fibers, come into consideration. EXAMPLE 1 A section of cotton poplin with a square meter weight of 126 g was mixed with a liquor containing 50 g of cyanamide, 50 g of diammonophosphate and 250 g of a compound of the formula
EMI0001.0028
(a = 1.3; b = 1.7 and c = 0), soaked, squeezed to a liquor pick-up of about 70%, dried at 110 ° C. and condensed at 160 ° C. for 5 minutes.
When tested for flame resistance, the fabric shows a burning time of 0 seconds and an afterglow time of 0 seconds even after 20 boil washes. The boil washes were carried out in this example as well as in all the following examples in a commercially available, program-controlled household washing machine. It is washed with normal, not softened water in a float ratio of 1:15 using 2 g / 1 of a common household detergent.
The washing program was as follows:

With regard to flame resistance, the first digit means the afterburn time in seconds, the second digit the afterglow time in seconds.
Example 2 A green cotton atlas (square meter weight 300 g) was produced with a liquor containing 50 g of cyanamide, 70 g of diammonophosphate and 210 g of a compound I "(a = 2, b = 1, c = 0) per liter holds, soaked, squeezed to a liquor pick-up of about 75%, dried at 110 C and 6 minutes at 150 C burner flame is set to 40 mm 1 mm height with the help of the visor plate, the combustion box door is closed and the burner under the middle of the lower The edge of the specimen is pushed so that it hangs 20 mm into the burner flame. The moment the burner flame is pushed under, the stopwatch is started. After the test period has expired, the burner is withdrawn about 100 mm.
After each test, the furnace and fume cupboard must be ventilated for at least 2 minutes while the samples are being changed.
The test duration depends on the basis weight and is 10 seconds for basis weights between 300 and 500 g / m2 and 8 seconds for 200 to 300 g / m2. If the sample continues to burn after removing the burner, the burning time is measured until the last glowing spark has gone out.
For comparison, sections of the cotton fabric given above were finished in the same way with the following liquors: a) 50 g / 1 diammonophosphate 250 g / 1 compound I 'b) 100 g / 1 diammonophosphate 250 g / 1 compound I' c) 150 g / l diammonophosphate 250 g / l compound I 'The samples finished in this way were tested for flame resistance after 5, 10, 15 and 20 washes. The results are summarized in Table I below with the results of the equipment according to the invention. condensed. In the flame resistance test, the fabric shows a burning and afterglow time of 0 seconds even after 20 washes.
Example 3 A white cotton atlas (m2 weight 300 g) was soaked with a treatment solution containing 30 g of cyanamide, 50 g of diammonophosphate and 255 g of a compound II '(a = 1.0, b = 1.0) per liter , squeezed off to a liquor pick-up of about 65%, dried at 100 ° C. and condensed at 165 ° C. for 5 minutes. When tested for flame resistance, the fabric treated in this way shows a burning time of 0 seconds and also an afterglow time of 0 seconds even after 20 boil washes.
Example 4 A blue cotton body (m2 weight 220 g) was made with a liquor containing 30 g of ammonium sulfamate, 70 g of cyanamide and 250 g of a compound 1 "'(a = 1.5, b = 1.3, c = 0, 2) contains, soaked, squeezed off to a liquor pick-up of 80%, dried at 110 ° C. and condensed for 5 minutes at 160 ° C. Even after 15 hot washes, this fabric shows a burning and afterglow time of 0 seconds.
Example 5 A white Zellwollrenforce (square meter weight 180 g) was with a liquor containing 50 g of cyanamide, 50 g of diammonophosphate and 230 g of compound 1 "" (a = 1.8, b = 1.2, c = 0), soaked, squeezed off to a liquor pick-up of 100%, dried at about 100 ° C. and condensed at 170 ° C. for 5 minutes. After 10 washes, the fabric shows a burning and afterglow time of 0 seconds.
