**WARNUNG** Ende DESC Feld konnte Anfang CLMS uberlappen**.
The invention relates to a method for reinforcing and shaping the neck area of an extrusion blown hollow body, whereby a tube is first extruded, then the blow pin having the core body is pushed up until the core body is at the level of the later neck neck, then the mold halves towards one another are moved and then the blow pin is pulled out of the hollow body.
The neck of a canister is subjected to a wide range of stresses, regardless of whether it is a neck with screw cap closure, with a claw closure according to the Wehrmacht canisters or the like.
In particular, but not exclusively, these stresses occur with wide-necked canisters. Wide neck drums, wide neck thermoses etc. With these, the neck is so wide that you can put your hand into the container. The diameter of such a neck should usually be in the range of 7-10 cm. Unlike metal objects, those have materials. from which extrusion blown hollow bodies can be produced. a much lower stiffness. When it is used, there is therefore a tendency to push parts of the neck of the nozzle inwards. so that the closure is no longer satisfactory, and may even leak.
As a remedy for this, it is known to provide a support ring in wide neck necks. In the case of necks with a smaller diameter, such support rings cannot be provided for reasons of space. Such support rings are approximately conical on the inside and fit on the front area of a blow quill. You move the quill just that far into the blow mold. that the support ring rests on the inner wall of the closure. Then you blow the container, pull the quill back and the ring slides down from its conical seat.
Since the ring is made of plastic, it can weld to the still hot material of the container.
This is disadvantageous. that the ring itself now forms the inner wall of the nozzle, so that all liquids flow over it. In addition to its supporting properties, it must therefore have certain food chemical properties. it must not be attacked by fuels, etc.
Because it has to be made of a material that welds to the extruded, hot material of the hollow body.
the support ring can only be made of plastic. In principle, however, plastic has poorer rigidity properties than metal. Finally, there is still a disadvantage. that gap-shaped nests can form on the intersection between the reinforcement ring and the blown wall of the neck, which can store unwanted residues or lead to leaks.
Finally, such containers can only be poured out unfavorably. because the inner face of the reinforcement ring is perpendicular to the outflow direction and therefore tries to create turbulence.
Another aspect of the invention is to provide a method by means of which it is possible to avoid the above-mentioned disadvantages altogether, in particular it is possible to make the neck of the neck much more resilient and to arrange a reinforcing ring, which may be used, in the wall of the neck of the neck. without it being visible from the outside.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that, after blowing, the hose hanging from the mold halves under the mold halves is pressed against the blow pin at its lower edge like a sackcloth. that the blow pin is moved further into the hollow body, that the lower edge, which is held on the blow pin, is turned into the neck of the nozzle and that a bladder attached to the blow pin is then inflated so far that it pushes apart the tube that is now inside the hollow body and in the hot state presses against the inner wall of at least the nozzle neck.
A preferred exemplary embodiment of the invention is described in the following description. In the drawing show:
Fig. 1 is a schematic. Not to scale, partially cut off and interrupted cross-section through a blow mold, an extruded tube and a quill in a first work cycle.
FIG. 2 shows a representation according to FIG. 1 in a second work cycle, in a solid representation and in a third work cycle in dashed lines.
3 shows a representation of a fourth work cycle in solid lines and a fifth work cycle in dashed lines,
FIG. 4 shows a section along line 44 in FIG. 3,
5 shows a sixth working cycle in solid lines and a seventh working cycle in dashed lines
6 shows a cross section through the neck of an extrusion blown, finished hollow body.
An extrusion head (not shown) is provided above FIG. 1 and produces a tube 11 made of thermoplastic, hot material of an annular cross-section. As is known from blowing hollow bodies, this tube 11 is not produced continuously. Rather, a certain length of hose is created and then the blow molding process starts when the hose is hanging. The material for the hose 11 does not differ from the materials used for such tasks. The blow mold, consisting of two halves 12, 13, does not differ either. The halves 12, 13 are therefore horizontally movable away from and towards one another. Their cavities 14, 16 complement each other in the closed state to the shape that the hollow body will later have. As usual, the threads 17, 18 are incorporated into the halves 12, 13 at the bottom.
The embodiment is a trapezoidal thread which is later located on the outer surface of the neck 19. The halves 12, 13 could, however, also be shaped in this area in such a way that the closure in the manner of the Wehrmacht canister can later be attached there or some other neck is formed. The only difference so far compared to the previously known is that the hose 11 extends considerably further below the halves 12, 13.
A quill 21 has a channel 22 for the blown air and at its free end an outlet 23 for the blown air. Shortly below the outlet 23, two circular plates 24 and 26 are provided axially at a distance from one another and perpendicular to the quill 21. which are rigidly attached to the quill 21 and have a diameter which is considerably smaller than the inner diameter of an annular reinforcing ring 27. As can be seen from the drawing, the distance between the plates 24, 26 is slightly greater than the height of the reinforcement ring 27. The outer circumference 28 of a pneumatic bladder 29 carries the reinforcement ring 27 coaxially to the quill 21. The bladder can be opened with the aid of a Inflate channel 31 from the outside.
Because of the plates 24, 26 it then expands perpendicular to the plane of the drawing of FIG. 1 and holds the reinforcing ring 27 securely.
The reinforcing ring 27 is placed on the non-inflated bladder 29 outside the device and then brought into the position shown in FIG. 1, in which the reinforcing ring 27 is at the level of the later support neck 19 and in such a position. in which it is located with its geometric longitudinal axis in the plane of separation of the halves 12, 13. The reinforcement ring 27 is made of metal and can be roughened on its peripheral surfaces. However, it is also possible to use metal rings in a state in which they are injected or cut off from conventional tubular profiles.
The halves 12, 13 are now moved towards one another, so that the upper squeezing surfaces 32 squeeze the tube 11 there in a known manner and it hangs there in the hollow space 14, 16 drawn in a solid representation according to FIG. During this movement, the threads 17, 18 also press the hose 11 in the corresponding area against the outer circumference 33 of the reinforcing ring 27, which, however, is not moved away from its place because it is still held on its inner circumference 34 by the outer circumference 28 of the bladder 29 becomes. At the same time, hose material is also pressed into the threads 17, 18 so that the trapezoidal thread is created there. Now air is blown with the quill 21 into the cavity 36 that has now been created, so that the hose rests against the halves 12, 13 on the inside.
This is shown in dashed lines.
Of course, the hollow body can also have a different shape. The neck 19 can also be arranged laterally or otherwise offset.
The bladder 29 is now vented and shrinks back to the circumference 37 shown in dashed lines according to FIG. The reinforcing ring 27 is only removed from the material squeezed together to form the neck 19 of the neck 19 by adhesive forces or similar forces and is completely free from the bladder 29.
Instead of the bladder 29, a rubber body could also be used, the equator of which could be enlarged by moving the plates 24, 26 towards one another.
Furthermore, the reinforcing ring 27 could also be held by fingers which can be moved radially outwards and inwards with respect to the quill 21. Furthermore, one could also use spring bodies that can be tensioned or relaxed in the radial direction. There are a greater number of equivalent means to keep the reinforcement ring 27 long enough. Electromagnetic devices would also be conceivable.
The quill 21 together with the plates 24, 26 and bladder 29 is now moved further into the cavity 36 until a mushroom cap-shaped body 38 rigidly connected to the quill 21 is located with its round surface ahead at the level of the lower edge 39 of the hose 11. The lower edge 39 of course does not represent the lower edge of the entire hose 11, but only the lower edge of the remainder that hangs below the threads 17, 18. So it is only the non-squeezed remainder. Two squeeze plates 41, 42 can be moved horizontally, essentially perpendicular to the quill 21, in a similar way to the halves 12, 13. The guide and actuating device required for this is not shown.
The squeeze plates 41, 42 have circular segment-shaped, open-edged recesses 43, 44 which, after a movement according to the arrows 46, complement each other to form a circle whose diameter corresponds to the diameter of the quill 21 plus the thickness of the hose material. If the squeezing plates 41, 42 are moved all the way towards one another according to the arrows 46, their edges 47, 55 squeeze further hose material, and the recesses 43, 44 press the hose material above the body 38 onto the shaft of the quill 21, similar to the tip of a sack where the tubing sticks.
Wrinkles will certainly form, but they are harmless and will later smooth out again.
One could also tie the hose above the edge 39 in the manner of a sackclip in another way than has been shown here. For example, one could use a ribbon-shaped loop that is pulled shut or the like. When the squeezing plates 41, 42 are in the position shown in FIG. 4, the edge 39 has risen slightly. Now the squeeze plates 41, 42 are brought back to their starting position according to the arrows 50, and the quill 21 is moved further inward into the cavity 36 until a second bladder 48 is located in the neck 19. The bladder 48 can optionally be inflated or vented from the outside through a further channel, not shown. It lies between the body 38 and a plate 49, both of which are rigidly attached to the quill 21.
As a result of the inward movement, the sack tip 51 is turned inward, as FIG. 5 shows. Pressure is now applied to the bladder 48, which ruptures the tip of the sac 51 as it expands. The sack tip 51 can also be torn open somewhat to make the bladder 48 easier by moving the body 38 (including the quill 21) so far into the cavity 36 that the sack tip 51 tears or tears open. This is also facilitated by the spherical shape of the body 38.
As a result of the expansion of the bladder 48, which is shown in dashed lines in FIG. 5, the material 52 is pressed onto the inner circumference 34 of the reinforcing ring 27 onto its inner end face 53 and onto the inner area 54 above the connector 19 and - there still hot - solid welded. The work steps therefore have to follow one another sufficiently quickly. In Fig. 6, the interfaces 56 between the same materials are shown. It can also be seen from FIG. 6 that the material above the nozzle neck 19 is thereby advantageously thickened, if not doubled at all.
The dimensions are such that, during the operation according to FIG. 5, the outer end face 58 is also pressed on by a pressure plate 57, which is rigidly and perpendicularly attached to the quill 21, so that flat surfaces are obtained there that are necessary for sealing reasons . The pressure plate 57 can also serve as a stop and limit the insertion path of the quill 21.
The bladder 48 is now vented again, shrinks back to its old circumference, and the quill 21 is pulled out completely. The halves 12, 13 open again and the finished hollow body can fall out downwards.
As can be seen from FIG. 6, the reinforcement ring 27 is completely surrounded by thermoplastic material, not visible from the outside, and no nests or gaps are formed into which medium can penetrate from the outside. On its inside, the neck 19 is smooth and in the area of the inner edge 59 is curved favorably in terms of flow. This is due to the fact that in the inflated state the bladder 48 does not assume an angular shape, but always assumes rounded shapes by itself. For this reason, the tip of the sack 51 later also ends in a wedge-shaped wall thickness 61 with practically no transition.
PATENT CLAIM 1
Method for reinforcing and shaping the neck area of an extrusion blown hollow body, whereby first a hose is extruded, then the mandrel having the core body is pushed up until the core body is at the level of the later neck neck, then the mold halves are moved towards each other and then the Blowing pin is pulled out of the hollow body, characterized in that after blowing the hose (11) hanging from the mold halves (12, 13) at its lower edge (39) is pressed against the blowing pin (21) in the manner of a sackcloth, so that the blowing pin (21) is moved further into the hollow body so that the lower edge (39) held on the blow pin (21) is turned into the neck (19) and a bladder (48) attached to the blow pin (11) is then inflated so far ,
that it pushes apart the turned-in tube that is now located inside the hollow body and, in the hot state, presses it against the inner wall of at least the neck of the nozzle.
