Fig. 1 zeigt ein Mischrohr im Längsschnitt
Fig. 2 dessen vorderes Ende im grösseren Masstab.

Device for making snow
The invention relates to a device for the continuous production of snow, with a mixing tube into which compressed air and water, which mixes with the air, are introduced through separate inlets in the region of the rear end.
Such devices, for example referred to as snow cannons, are known.
In order to be independent of the ambient temperature (if this is -5 degrees C or below) and the water-to-air ratio during operation, the device according to the invention is characterized in that the mixing tube opens at the front into at least one narrower pipe socket which extends to the front widened conically, and that in the conical section a distribution ball is held by holding means from the front, these holding means together with the ball being axially adjustable from the outside with respect to the mixing tube.
As a result of the adjustability mentioned, the spray jet can be regulated largely independently of temperature and mixing ratio, and there is no risk of the outlet for the water-air mixture in the device freezing over at low temperatures. The spray jet ejected into the air falls on the ground in the form of fine ice crystals and results in snow that is particularly suitable for skiing.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a mixing tube in longitudinal section
Fig. 2 its front end on a larger scale.
The mixing tube 1 is connected to a continuous compressed air source with the connector 2 to a continuous water source with the lateral connector 3. In the mixing space 4, air and water are mixed and the water is finely distributed in the air. At the front end, the mixing tube 1 merges into a narrower pipe socket 5 which has a conical widening 6 at the front. The air-water mixture then hits the ball 7 with great pressure, where the air-water mixture is atomized into the smallest of parts. The ball 7 is firmly connected in the threaded sleeve 9 by holding means 8. The sleeve 9 can be adjusted as required via the thread 10 on the sleeve 11 by means of a lever 12 on the sleeve 9. The sleeve 11 is fixedly attached to the mixing tube 1.
Instead of a pipe socket 5, several such can be provided next to one another, in each of which a distribution ball is held from the front by common holding means; A special transition piece is provided, which divides the compressed air-water flow and continuously transfers the pipe socket.
PATENT CLAIM
Device for the continuous production of snow, with a mixing tube into which compressed air and water are introduced through separate inlets in the area of the rear end, which mixes with the air, characterized in that the mixing tube opens into at least one narrower pipe socket at the front, which is widened conically towards the front, and that in the conical section a distribution ball is held from the front by holding means, this holding means together with the ball being axially adjustable from the outside with respect to the mixing tube.
SUBCLAIMS
1. Device according to claim, characterized in that the holding means are connected to a threaded bushing which engages in an external thread on the mixing tube for the purpose of axial adjustment.
2. Device according to claim, characterized in that the mixing tube ends in a plurality of juxtaposed pipe sockets, in each of which a distributor ball is held from the front by common holding means.
