Abstract
Special adhesive for bandaging materials in aerosol form contains a soln. of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and propellant(s). This adhesive can be used to stick the bandage to the wound itself or only around the edges of the wound. The pressure of spraying causes susceptible hairs to be pressed onto and stuck to the skin, so that they are not torn away painfully when the bandage is removed. The pref. aerosol consists of 50% PVP soln. in EtOH and a mixt. of CFCl3 and CF2Cl2, the wt. ratio of soln. to propellant being 1:9.
Description
Special adhesive for dressing materials
The invention relates to a special adhesive for dressing materials in aerosol form, which is characterized in that it contains a solution of polyvinylpyrrolidone, preferably in ethanol, and one or more propellants.
Liquid dressing materials based on vinyl polymers in an organic solvent are known per se. This liquid dressing material is applied to the wound and then forms a film that covers the injury site.
In contrast to this, the invention relates to a special adhesive which is used to arrange dressing material over the wound and to fix it there.
The adhesive spray is z. B. prepared as follows: A 50% strength by weight solution of polyvinylpyrrolidone in ethanol is filled into a spray can, a suitable valve is fitted and the can is additionally filled with a mixture of monofluorotrichloromethane and difluorodichloromethane as a propellant suitable for this purpose.
The pressure prevailing in the can means that part of the propellant mixture remains liquid and a solution of polyvinylpyrrolidone in ethanol and propellant mixture is formed.
When sprayed onto the skin, the propellant mixture evaporates immediately and the strongly adhesive polyvinylpyrrolidone solution in ethanol sticks the bandage onto the wound or
Skin. The ethanol then also evaporates.
Any hair is pressed onto the skin by the pressure when spraying the Kebers, sticks there immediately and therefore there is no painful tearing away of the hair when the bandage is removed. An air-permeable bandage can be glued particularly advantageously, since the solvents can then evaporate unhindered.
According to another embodiment variant, the principle is to have a suitable, quick-drying adhesive available for a new type of dressing material made of synthetic fibers. Only the edges of the wound are sprayed with this adhesive and immediately afterwards this new type of dressing material is applied and fixed by the adhesive.
Depending on the nature of the wound, the bandage material can be glued to the wound itself or, as already mentioned, only to the wound edges or also to places that are further away from the wound.
