Beispiel I
Beispiel 2
Anstelle von 6 Teilen 2,6-Diihydroxy-3-cyano-4- methylpyridin, wie dies in Beispiel 1 der Fall ist, verwendet man 10,2 Teile (1-(2,4-Xylol)-3-cyano-4 methyl-6-hydroxypyrid-2-on. Der so erhaltene Disazofarbstoff liefert rote Farbtöne in Anstrichfarben.
Beispiel 3
Beispiel 4
Anstelle von 6 Teilen 2,6-Dihydroxy-3-cyano-'t- methylpyridin verwendet man 12,9 Teile 1-(2,5-Dimethoxy-4- chlorphenyl)-2-cyano-4- methyl-6-hydroxypy rid-2-on.

Dyeing textiles, paints, printing inks, rubber and rubber materials, natural, semi-synthetic and fully synthetic polymeric materials and fiber-forming materials are useful.
The invention also relates to the use of the azo dyes or azo pigments produced in this way in paints.
The new water-insoluble azo dyes or azo pigments obtainable according to the invention contain neither sulfonic acid and carboxylic acid groups nor cationic groups and correspond to the formula:
EMI1.1
wherein Z is hydrogen or an optionally substituted alkyl, aralky 1-, cycloalkyl, aryl or heterocyclic radical, T1 is hydrogen, a -CN, -CONR1R, -COR1 or -OH group or an optionally substituted alkyl, aralkyl , Cycloal kyl, aryl or heterocyclic radical, T hydrogen, a -CN, -COOR1R2 or COR1 group or an optionally substituted alkyl, aralkyl,
Cycloalkyl, aryl or heterocyclic radical and D is an optionally substituted divalent aryl radical which contains at least two aryl nuclei,
where the azo groups are bonded to different aryl nuclei of D and R1 and R2 ', which can be the same or different, represent hydrogen or optionally substituted alkyl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or heterocyclic radicals or the group -NR1R2 is the remainder of a compound having a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring.
The azo dyes or pigments obtainable according to the invention can be present in a number of different tautomeric forms. For the sake of convenience, the dyes and pigments have only been represented in one of these tuatomic forms, but the present description relates to any of the possible tautomeric forms of the dyes or
Pigments.
The optionally substituted alkyl radicals represented by Z, T1, T2, Rl and R ″ are preferably optionally substituted alkyl radicals having 1 to 4 carbon atoms. Specific examples of such radicals include, for example, methyl, ethyl, n-propyl and n-butyl radicals, and hydroxylalkyl radicals with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, for example the, 6-Hydroxytähyl-, alkoxyalkyireste with 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alkoxy and alkyl, for example the ss methoxyethyl or ss-ethoxyethyl, also cyano methyl, carbamoylmethyl, carbethoxymethyl and Acetylmethyireste in question.
The methyl radical is preferred, with the exception of the symbol Z, which preferably represents methyl and ethyl radicals.
Examples of aralkyl radicals represented by Z, T1, T2, R1 and R2 are benzyl and phenylethyl radicals. The cyclohexyl radical can be named as an example of a cycloalkyl test, as represented by Z, T1, T2, R1 and R2. The optionally substituted aryl radicals which are represented by Z, T ', T2, R' and R2 are preferably optionally substituted phenyl radicals; Specific examples include the phenyl radical, the tolyl radical, the chlorophenyl radical, the methoxyphenyl radical and the ethoxyphenyl radical.
The optionally substituted heterocyclic radicals, as represented by Z, T1, T2, R1 and R2, are preferably substituted 6- and 6-membered heterocyclic rings.
Examples include 2-pyridyl, 2-tiazolyl, 1-piperidinyl and 1-morpholinyl radicals.
The following rings can be mentioned as examples of 5 and 6-membered nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds which are formed by combining the radicals R1 and R2 with the nitrogen atom: piperidine, morpholine, piperazine and pyrrolidine.
T2 is preferably a cyano group and Z is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, in particular the methyl radical or ethyl radical, or phenyl radical or a substituted phenyl group.

B.
Phenylene or naphthylene, to one another by a direct bond, by a saturated hydrocarbon group, such as --CHr, by an unsaturated hydrocarbon group, such as -CH CH-, or by a bridging atom or a bridging group which contains a heteroatom, such as e.g. B. -0-, -CO-, -SO2-, -S-, -NH-, -OCH2-CH2O-, -COHN- or -NH-CO-NH- are connected.
Examples of cationic groups which the new dyes or pigments must not contain are quaternary ammonium, hydrazinium, sulfonium and isothiouronium groups and heterocyclic radicals containing a quaternary nitrogen atom in the ring.
The new dyes or pigments are obtained according to the invention by tetrazotizing a diamine of the formula HN2-D-NH2 and coupling the tetrazo compound obtained in this way with a coupling component which, in one of its possible tautomeric forms, corresponds to the following formula :
EMI2.1

The tetrazotization and the coupling of the present process can be carried out in a manner known per se. However, they are preferably carried out in an aqueous medium at pH values in the range from 4 to 10.
The coupling components of formula 2 can for their part be prepared by various methods, as described, for example, in Heterocyclic Compounds Pyridine and its Derivatives - Part 3, edited by Klingsberg and published by Interscience Publishers in 1962.
Typical methods include, for example, (1) the condensation of compounds of the formula TlCOCH.COO-alkyl and T2CH2COO-alkyl in the presence of an excess of an amine of the formula Z-NH2, (2) the cyclization of an α, ß-disubstituted glutaconamide of the formula
EMI2.2
which in turn is obtained by condensation of compounds of the formulas T1COCH2COO-alkyl and T2CH2CONHZ in the presence of a basic catalyst, or (3) the cyclization of an α, ß-disubstituted glutaconamide of the formula
EMI2.3
which in turn is obtained by condensation of compounds of the formulas TlCOCHoCOHNZ and T2CH2COO alkyl.

The water-insoluble azo dyes and azo pigments, as obtained according to the invention, are suitable for dyeing synthetic textile materials and in particular cellulose acetate and cellulose triacetate textiles, polyamide textile materials such as, for. B. Polyhexamethylene dipamide textiles and in particular aromatic polyester textiles, such as. B. Poly ethylene terephthalate textile materials. These textiles can be in the form of threads, yarns, woven or knitted fabrics.
Such textile materials can easily be dyed by immersing the textile in a dye liquor which contains an aqueous dispersion of one or more of the azo dyes or azo pigments present, the dyebath preferably containing a non-ionic, cationic and / or anionic surface-active agent, and the The dye liquor is then heated to a suitable temperature for a certain period of time. In the case of secondary cellulose acetate textiles, the dyeing process will preferably be carried out at a temperature between 60 and 85 ° C.
In the case of cellulose triacetate or polyamide textile materials, the dyeing is preferably carried out at a temperature of 95 to 100 C, while in the case of aromatic polyester textile materials, the dyeing process is either at a temperature between 90 and
100 ° C., preferably in the presence of a carrier such as diphenyl or o-hydroxydiphenyl, or at a temperature of over 100 ° C., preferably at a temperature between 120 and 130 ° C., under excess pressure.
Furthermore, the aqueous dispersion of the azo dye or azo pyrmentes can also be applied to the textile material by a padding or printing process, whereupon the textile material is heated or steamed. In such procedures you will the aqueous dispersion of the dye Ibzw. Pigment, preferably a thickener, such as. B. tragacanth gum, gumminra- bicum or sodium alginate, add.
After the dyeing process has ended, the dyed textile material is preferably rinsed in water or subjected to a brief soap treatment before the dyed textile material is finally dried. In the case of aromatic polyester textiles, the dyed textile material is furthermore preferably subjected to a treatment in an alkaline aqueous sodium hydrogen sulfite solution prior to soaping in order to remove loosely bound dye from the surface of the textile material.
The azo dyes or azo pigments have an excellent affinity for and good attachment to synthetic textiles, in particular aromatic polyester textile materials. so that you can achieve deep shades. The dyeings obtained show hues in the range from yellow to blue and are distinguished by excellent lightfastness and excellent fastness to wet treatments and especially to dry heat treatments such as those used at high temperatures during pleating.
If desired, the azo dyes or azo pigments obtainable according to the invention can also be applied to synthetic textiles in conjunction with other disperse dyes, as are, for example, in British patents 806 271, 835 819, 840 903, 847 175, 852 493, 859 899, 865 328, 872 204, 894 012, 908 656, 909 843, 910 306, 913 856, 919 424, 944 513, 944 722, 953 887, 959816, 960235 and 961412 have been described.
The novel azo dyes or azo pigments obtainable according to the invention can be used either individually or in a mixture with one another in the form of dry powders as pigments for coloring paints, bright yellow to blue shades of good heat, light and solvent fastness being obtained if they be incorporated into alkyl binders or other paint binders. On the other hand, the azo dyes or azo pigments can also be used as pigments for coloring synthetic or semi-synthetic polymeric materials, such as. B.
Use polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polystyrene or cellulose acetate.
If the azo dyes or azo pigments are ground with water and a dispersing agent, e.g. B. disodium dinaphthylmethan-ss-sulfonate, pigment pastes can be obtained that are suitable for the production of emulsion paints, for dyeing wallpaper, for textile printing, for dyeing paper and paper laminates, for flushing in paints binders or lithographic varnishes or for use in bulk pigmentation of fiber-forming materials, such as. B. viscose, are suitable. In these applications, the new materials are notable for their luminosity and their light and solvent fastness.
The invention is illustrated by the following examples, in which the parts are parts by weight.
Example I.
5.1 parts of 3,3'-dichlorobenzidine are stirred into a mixture of 60 parts of water and 10 parts of a 10N hydrochloric acid solution and tetrazotized at a temperature of less than 5 ° C. by adding 2 parts of a 140 / above aqueous sodium nitrite solution .
After stirring for 30 minutes, the tetrazo solution is filtered and stirred into an ice-cold solution of 6 parts of 2,6-dihydroxy-3-cyano-4-methylpyridine in 100 parts of water and 20 parts of a 10N sodium hydroxide solution over the course of 15 minutes.
The mixture is stirred for an additional 15 minutes, whereupon the precipitated disazo dye is isolated by filtration, then washed with water and dried.
If this pigment is used to color paints, it produces strong bluish-red shades.
Example 2
Instead of 6 parts of 2,6-diihydroxy-3-cyano-4-methylpyridine, as is the case in Example 1, 10.2 parts of (1- (2,4-xylene) -3-cyano-4-methyl are used -6-hydroxypyrid-2-one The disazo dye thus obtained gives red shades in paints.
Example 3
Instead of using 6 parts of 2,6-dihydroxy-3-cyano-4-ethylpyn.din, as in Example 1, 9.1 parts of 1-phenyl-3-cyano-4-methyl-6-hydroxypyrid- 2- on. In this way you get a red disazo fabstoff.
Example 4
Instead of 6 parts of 2,6-dihydroxy-3-cyano-t-methylpyridine, 12.9 parts of 1- (2,5-dimethoxy-4-chlorophenyl) -2-cyano-4-methyl-6-hydroxypyridine are used -2-on. In this way a red disazo dye is obtained.
Examples 5 to 51
The procedure according to Example 1 is repeated using the diamines and coupling components listed in the table below. This gives disazo dyes which have the color shades mentioned. These dyes can be incorporated into paints in a manner customary per se, giving strong colors.
Aqueous dispersions of these dyes for use in dyeing are prepared by grinding the dyes with gravel in water and in the presence of a dispersing agent, such as. B. sodium dinaphthyl methane 2,2'-disulfonate obtained. These dispersions are used for dyeing polyester textile materials, if necessary in the presence of a carrier, at high temperatures.
Aqueous dispersions which are obtained by grinding these dyes with beads in water and in the presence of a dispersing agent, such as e.g. B. sodium naphthylmethane-2,2'-disulfonate, are suitable for use in emulsion paints, for dyeing wallpaper, for dyeing paper and paper laminates, for printing textiles, for flushing in paint binders or in lithographic lacquers or for pigmentation in bulk, e.g. B. from Visko se.
