Method and device for monitoring a predetermined change in speed of a vehicle of a transport system that is moving on a predetermined path
In a storage building in which goods to be stored have to be brought from a loading point to a specific storage location by means of a transport vehicle, the transport vehicle is often controlled by an automatically operating control system in which a coded target designation of the storage location is entered as a target value. As is known, the respective position of the transport vehicle can be read in a contactless manner while the transport vehicle is in motion and compared with the entered target value. If the target value and the actual value then match, the vehicle is stopped.
To achieve the highest possible transport speed u.
In order to achieve a high turnover rate within the warehouse, it has proven to be expedient to initiate braking when reading a position of the transport vehicle which is in the vicinity of the target position, so that the vehicle can reach the predetermined target using optimal deceleration Standstill comes.
The braking curve is determined by a travel curve computer by continuously comparing the distance of the transport vehicle between the actual and the target position. If the vehicle reaches such a distance from the target position, which is equal to the optimal braking distance, the speed of the vehicle is decelerated according to the curve determined by the travel curve computer, so that the vehicle is brought to a stop at the target stop in the shortest possible time.
This solution has proven itself and works very reliably. However, a problem arises in connection with this optimal speed regulation when the destination to be approached is located directly at the end of a corridor closed off, for example, by a wall. In practice it happens occasionally that the target position is overrun and
the exact position of the vehicle is corrected under the influence of the automatic control by reversing. At a stop at the end of an aisle, this must be avoided at all costs, otherwise the transport vehicle may come into contact with the wall.
The aim of the present invention is to propose a method for monitoring a predetermined change in speed of a vehicle in a transport system, which vehicle is movable on a predetermined path. This is intended to ensure that if the change in speed deviates from a given value, this change in speed is influenced immediately. In the exemplary application mentioned at the beginning, this would mean that the vehicle is stopped immediately by means of emergency braking if it were found that the deceleration is below the value determined by the travel curve computer.
According to the invention, this is achieved in that the transit time between pairs of measuring points is measured at at least two points on the track and these values are compared with one another, the change in speed of the vehicle being influenced if the measured values are inequality. In order to achieve a constant transit time between the individual pairs of measuring points, the distance between the same can advantageously be varied.
Another aim of the invention is to propose a device for carrying out this method, which is characterized in that there is a measuring section for determining the transit time of a vehicle at at least two spaced-apart locations on the track, which measuring sections have different lengths and that a Device for comparing the values supplied by the two measuring sections is provided. Preferably, measuring elements can be provided at the end points of the measuring section which interact with measuring elements attached to the vehicle.
According to a preferred embodiment, the measuring elements at the end points of the measuring section can each be two permanent magnets arranged at a distance from one another on a plate, while reed switches which can be operated by the permanent magnets and which are connected to the comparison device can be provided on the vehicle.
An exemplary embodiment is shown in the accompanying drawings and will be pushed in more detail below.
Show it:
1 shows a diagram with various movement curves of the vehicle,
2 shows the schematic arrangement of the measuring sections and measuring elements, and
3 shows a cross section through part of the vehicle and through the measuring elements.
In Fig. 1, a number of movement curves are shown as they are determined by a travel curve computer. The curve I shows the movement sequence of the vehicle determined by the computer when it is optimally moved from a point X0 to a point X0. From a standstill, at XO, there is a steadily increasing acceleration of the vehicle up to the maximum speed, which is reached between X and X5 and maintained for a short time.
After that there is a continuous decreasing delay until the final standstill, up to point Xf ;. When the vehicle is started from a point X1, there is a continuously increasing acceleration up to a speed V1, which is maintained for a certain time, after which the vehicle is braked according to the optimal deceleration curve (curve II). The dash-dotted curve III shows how the movements of the transport vehicle would take place in a conventional manner. The acceleration from point X1 takes place in the same way according to curve II, but this is immediately followed by a period of deceleration up to point X, at which point the vehicle is switched to creep speed and at this point covers the last section.
In this way it was also possible to avoid driving over the target position with certainty, but with the disadvantage of a much greater expenditure of time. Curves IV, V and VI show the movement of the vehicle, starting from points X, X and X.
In FIG. 2 the transport vehicle 1, which is loaded with the goods 2 to be transported, is mounted on rails 3 and can be moved on them. A boom 4 is attached to the side of the transport vehicle and carries a plate 5 standing parallel to the vehicle side wall. Two reed switches 6a and 6b are accommodated on this plate 5 and are arranged vertically next to one another at a distance from one another. On a stand 7, which is attached to the floor 8 of the aisle, a plate 9 is attached, which is equipped with two electromagnets 10a and 10b.
The vertical distance between the two magnets 10a and 10b corresponds to the vertical distance between the two switches 6a and 6b, while the length of the boom 4 is chosen so that the reed switches 6a and 6b are in the immediate vicinity of the two magnets 10a when the vehicle drives past and lOb move past.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2, three such magnet holding plates 9a, 9b and 9c are provided, each of which is fastened to the floor with a holding support 7. The vertical distance between the magnets mounted on these three plates is the same for all plates and corresponds to the distance between the two reed switches 6a and 6b. The horizontal distance, however, is different for the individual plates 9, in such a way that the first plate 9c in the direction of travel (arrow) has the greatest distance between the magnets 10a and 10b, while the second plate 9b is smaller and the plate 9a is even more has a small distance. The position of the three plates 9a-9c is indicated schematically in FIG. 1 with A, B and C.
The device now works as follows: It is assumed that the vehicle has passed point X3 at maximum speed and is approaching point A during the deceleration period. According to curve I, the vehicle has a speed VA at this point in time when the first reed switch 6a is actuated by the magnet 10a on the plate 9a. After a certain period of time Nt, the reed switch 6b moves past the magnet 10b of the plate 9a and is actuated by the latter. So there are two pulses that are temporally separated by an amount At, which pulses are fed to a comparison device. Meanwhile, the vehicle continues to decelerate to point B where the second plate 9b is attached.
At this location the vehicle has the speed V5 according to curve I in FIG. 1, which is lower than the speed VA due to the deceleration of the vehicle. When driving past, the reed switches 6a and 6b are actuated one after the other by the two magnets 10a and 10b on the plate 9b and supply two pulses to the comparison device. As mentioned, the two magnets 10a and 10b have a smaller distance in the horizontal direction than the magnets on the plate 9a. The amount of this distance is now chosen so that at the predetermined speed Vn at point B the same pulse distance results as when the vehicle drives past the plate 9a.
The comparison device now checks whether the distance between the pulses which were delivered when the plate 9a was passing is the same as the distance between the pulses when the plate 9b was passing. If this is the case, the deceleration between point A and point B has been carried out properly and the vehicle continues its decelerated journey. Proceed in the same way at point C. The distance between the two magnets 10a and 10b on the plate 9c is selected so that the same pulse distance occurs again if the vehicle has the predetermined speed Vc at point 10.
If the comparison device determines that, for example, when driving past the plate 9b, the resulting pair of pulses has a smaller distance than the pair of pulses generated when driving past the plate 9a, it is concluded that the current speed at point B due to insufficient delay between Point A and B is greater than the target speed VB. The vehicle's braking system is affected immediately and emergency braking is initiated. In a corresponding manner, emergency braking is initiated if the pulse spacing is too small while driving past the plate 9c.
In this way it can be achieved that the transport vehicle approaches the target position at the optimal speed at any time, without delays occurring as a result of slow travel. Overriding the target position is completely impossible. It should also be pointed out that the permanent magnets work independently of the circuit and the reed switches are self-locking, so that the latter automatically initiate braking in the event of a malfunction.
