Steuerventil
Control valve
The present invention relates to a control valve, in particular for radiators, in which a closure part can be lifted from its closed position by means of a valve stem provided with a rotary handle and its lifting is limited by the axial position of a stop screw adjustably arranged in a central bore of the stem.
In a known control valve of this type, the rotary handle is held in place by a screw which engages in the central opening of the shaft and which must be removed in order to give access to the tool for adjusting the stop. As a result, however, the fastening of the twist grip is loosened in an undesirable manner. The screw mentioned can also easily be lost.
In a second known control valve of the type mentioned, the rotary handle is held axially by an adhesive fit on the valve stem, so that a socket wrench can be inserted through its central opening for the purpose of adjusting the stop. However, since the twist grip has to be released when the valve is dismantled if necessary, the effectiveness of the adhesive seat is soon impaired as a result of wear.
In both known valves, there is also a lack of a well-defined end position for the stop, in which connection in particular the twist grip that is held on the shaft only by adhesion or that is detached from the shaft when the stop is adjusted cannot assume any function.
These disadvantages are remedied in the valve according to the invention in that the rotary handle, which is attached to the shaft and is connected to it in a rotationally fixed manner, is held by a union nut which, with its bottom part perforated in the middle, overlaps the central bore of the shaft and the adjustability of the connection that can be actuated through the hole .ag screw limited.
Thanks to the use of a union nut, the fastening of the rotary handle on the valve stem can be released, but it does not have to be loosened to adjust the stop screw. In addition, this results in a well-defined end position for the stop screw and thus the possibility of precise adjustment of the same.
An embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to a drawing showing the same in section.
The valve stem 3 rotatably mounted in the valve housing 1 is sealed by means of a sealing ring 30 and held against axial displacement by means of a washer 16 and a threaded bushing 17.
The upper end 11 of the valve stem 3, which is square in cross section, extends through a recess of the same cross section of the rotary handle 7 and has the external thread 12 for the union nut 8 on its edges. The union nut 8, which is screwed onto the named external thread 12 of the valve stem 3 and provided with a plate-shaped extension of its base part 6, holds the rotary handle 7 in the axial direction. The extension of the bottom part of the union nut 8 forms the end of a jacket-shaped extension 13 of the rotary handle 7 on the stile side. The bottom part 6 of the union nut 8 is concave on the outside for attaching a company label or an embossing.
A central hexagonal hole 15 of the bottom part 6 serves on the one hand to introduce a socket wrench for screwing the union nut 8, on the other hand to introduce a screwdriver to adjust the stop screw 9. This hexagonal hole 15 can be provided with a retaining, removable plug. The adjustable stop screw 9 is screwed into the internal thread 5 located at the upper end 11 of the valve stem 3. It limits the upward movement of the closure part 2 via a cylindrical plunger 10 provided with two sealing rings 31. The stop screw 9, for its part, reaches the limit of its adjustability when it rests against the base part 6 which extends over the central bore of the shaft 3 provided with the internal thread 5.
The sealing rings 31 are located in the middle area of the bumper 10 in order to avoid any mistakes in its assembly.
The lower end 4 of the valve stem 3, which is square in cross section, extends through a recess of the same cross section of the closure part 2, which engages with its external thread 19 in an internal thread of the housing, so that the rotation of the valve stem 3 caused by a rotation of the rotary handle 7, cause the rotation and a simultaneous axial displacement of the closure part 2 limited by means of the stop screw 9.
The valve housing 1 is provided with two connections, one representing the inlet and the other representing the outlet. The valve seat associated with the closure part 2 is located in the flow path between the two connections.
