Fig. 2 dieselbe Verdampfungskammer in Ansicht von oben.
Herrscht Gleichgewicht, so gilt: (G-A) H=h - K
Air humidifier
The air humidifier described in the main patent works on the evaporation principle with an electric heating element that evaporates water from a storage container. It is characterized in that the heating element is mounted in an evaporation chamber which is closed on all sides except for a water inlet opening located in the lower area and a steam outlet opening located in the upper area and which is connected to at least one floating body which it with respect to the Keeps the water surface in such a way that the water level in the evaporation chamber always remains at the same level, which is favorable for evaporation, regardless of how much water has evaporated, as long as the evaporation chamber floats on the water of the storage container.
The volume of the double wall of an evaporation chamber can be made so large that the evaporation chamber itself forms a floating body which ensures buoyancy. However, the volume of the double wall must be relatively large for this, in any case greater than is necessary for the thermal insulation of the evaporation chamber. This means, however, an enlargement of the water storage container and thus an enlargement of the entire device. The invention shows a way how in such a device the volume of the double wall can be kept at the size required for thermal insulation.
The device according to the invention is characterized in that the evaporation chamber is double-walled and that the volume of the double wall is dimensioned so that the evaporation chamber itself forms a floating body which ensures a certain buoyancy and is rigidly connected to a lever arm in the area of the upper one Edge of the water storage container is pivotably mounted and extended over the pivot axis and carries a counterweight that partially compensates for the weight of the evaporation chamber, so that the buoyancy of the volume of the double wall of the evaporation chamber is sufficient around the evaporation chamber with the heating element arranged in it to be kept floating in the water of the storage container at least approximately halfway submerged.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention:
Fig. 1 shows a side view of a floating evaporation chamber with an associated lever arm and
2 shows the same evaporation chamber in a view from above.
For the sake of clarity, the water reservoir has been omitted from the drawing. Only the bearings 1 attached in the area of the upper edge of the container are indicated, in which the arm 2 is pivotably mounted by means of the pins 3, 3 '. The connection cable 4 is led out of the pin 3 '. The structure of the evaporation chamber is in the form of a double-walled pot 5 with a double-walled cover 6 which is firmly connected to the lever arm 2.
The pot is releasably attached to the lid by means of the clamps 7. The pot contains a water inlet opening 8 arranged in the lower area and a steam outlet opening 9 arranged in the upper area. An electrical heating element is attached to the lid and protrudes into the pot (not shown). In the cover 6 there is also a thermostatic breaker contact that protects the heating element from overheating.
At the other end of the lever arm 2 there is a connection box 10 with a cover 11.
In the can 10 there is a mercury limit switch which switches off the current when a certain angle of inclination of the lever arm 2 is exceeded.
It therefore switches the device off when the water supply in the container is almost exhausted.
The lever arm 2 is continued in the cheeks 12 via the pivot pins 3, 3 '. A counterweight 13 is fastened between the cheeks 12 by means of screws 14 so that it partially compensates for the weight of the evaporation chamber. The position of this weight is adjustable in order to be able to set the floating position of the evaporation chamber precisely. For this purpose, slotted holes 15 are made in the cheeks 12, which allow adjustment in this area. The heating element should not immerse too deeply or too little in the water, because the greatest efficiency is only available in a precisely defined position. The heating element is centrally located in the vaporization chamber and the level in the chamber corresponds to the level outside the chamber.
These relationships are indicated schematically in FIG. 1. Let G be the weight of the evaporation chamber (with the cover 6 and a proportion of the weight of the lever arm 2) and A be the size of the buoyancy with the chamber half submerged. The weight of the metal piece 13 is K and the effective lengths of the lever arms are H and h.
If equilibrium prevails, the following applies: (G-A) H = h - K
