Die aktive Detergensverbindung umfasst ein Anionic und ein Nonionic und/oder Seife. Die Anionics sind bekannt in der Reinigungsmitteltechnik. Beispiele davon sind Alkylsulfate mit 8-22 Kohlenstoffatomen in ihrer Alkylkette; Alkyl- oder Alkylaryläthersulfate mit 8-22 Kohlenstoffatomen in ihrer Alkylkette und enthaltend 1-10 Äthylenoxydgruppen; Schwefelsäureester von Fett säuremonoglyceriden; sulfonierte Fettsäuren; ferner die Alkylbenzolsulfonate mit einer verzweigten oder geraden Alkylkette mit 8-18 Kohlenstoffatomen; Alkylsulfonate mit 10-22 Kohlenstoffatomen;

Detergents and cleaning agents
The invention relates to detergents and cleaning agents and in particular to those with controlled foaming. The agents according to the invention are regulated foaming agents, an expression under which agents are understood which are suitable for use under normal conditions in washing machines for which too large a foam volume is not permissible. Such foam non-tolerant washing machines are z. B.
Drum washing machines with front or top loading.
It is known that detergents and cleaning agents with high foaming power, such as those used in paddle washing machines, cannot be used in drum washing machines because they generally cause over-foaming. From the usual high-foaming detergents, therefore, those with controlled foaming have been developed in which the detergent component is made up of a special mixture of detergents, e.g. B consists of a mixture of a synthetic anion, nonionic and soap, which imparts the desired reduced foaming to the mixture.
Depending on the type and proportion of detergents, low or moderate foaming agents can be obtained.
In a detergent with controlled foaming, the particular mixture of detergents is normally composed of a high foaming synthetic anionic detergent (anionic) together with a foam depressor, e.g. B. soap, a nonionic synthetic detergent (nonionic), or a mixture thereof.
The use of hydrophobes, e.g. B. hydrocarbons, has also been proposed in agents of this type with controlled foaming.
However, even with drum type washing machines, there are large variations in the tolerance to the foam. A detergent that is suitable for use in a drum-type washing machine with fairly foam tolerance can produce too much foam in a less tolerant machine, causing over-foaming. Furthermore, fluctuations in the hardness of the water, the type and degree of soiling, and the washing temperature can influence the foam behavior.
Furthermore, it is very desirable that a controlled sudsing detergent should have an adequate amount of suds at low temperature, i.e. i. generated in the range of about 20 to 60 C, which amount should not increase with increasing temperatures. A detergent with controlled foaming should have an acceptable start to foam at low temperatures during washing, i.e. H. up to about 60 C, and should be used at higher temperatures, i.e. H. above about 80 C, little foam.
It should also create a significant amount of foam in paddle and mixer washers and also when washing by hand in a tub. The previous detergents either give a noticeable amount of foam in paddle and stirrer washing machines and during washing by hand in a tub, but foam over in drum washing machines; or they are poor foaming agents which do not foam over in drum washing machines, but do not foam in paddle and stirrer washing machines and when washing by hand in a tub.
The known detergents with controlled foaming with a content of foam suppressors give a significant foam braking at low or medium temperatures, which, as mentioned above, is undesirable in a detergent with controlled foaming.
Surprisingly, a detergent has now been found which has a controlled foaming ability over the entire temperature range of the washing cycle in a drum washing machine and generates a noticeable amount of foam in a paddle or stirrer washing machine and during washing by hand in a tub.
The detergent and cleaning agent according to the invention with a controlled foam, containing 2 to 20% by weight of an anionic synthetic detergent, 1 to 10% by weight of a nonionic synthetic detergent and / or 1 to 10% by weight of soap characterized by an additional content of 0.5 to
10% by weight of a compound of the formula I R (OR1) "O (CH2) mCOOM wherein R is a hydrocarbon radical with 8 to 24 carbon atoms which can be unsaturated,
a mono- or dialkyl-substituted aryl or saturated cyclo aliphatic radical with 6 to 30 carbon atoms in the
Alkyl group or an alkylamino or acyl amido radical with 8 to 24 carbon atoms, R1 -C2H4- or -C3H6-, n is a value from 1 to 40, m is the number 1, 2 or 3 and M is hydrogen or a cation.
Examples of suitable compounds of the invention are ether carboxylic acids or their alkali or alkaline earth salts, in particular sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, amine and alkylolamine salts of the formula I, in which R is an alkyl or alkylene group having 12-18 carbon atoms, R1 is ethylene , n is a number from 1-25 and m is 1.
Examples include compounds in which R is an alkyl group having 12 carbon atoms and n is 2.5, 4.5, 10, 15 and 25; furthermore R is an alkyl group with 18 carbon atoms and n = 2 or 5, and R is oleyl and n = 6, furthermore compounds in which R is a coconut oil fatty acid amide radical and n = 3, 4 or 5.
The detergents with controlled foaming according to the invention have a controlled foaming power, i.
they produce a significant amount of foam at lower temperatures and, as stated above, are poorly foaming at higher temperatures. They produce a more balanced foam at all temperatures without the foam overflowing at high temperatures. They are also surprisingly suitable for every type of washing machine, e.g. B. paddle or stirrer vaschmaschinen and suitable for washing by hand in a tub.
It goes without saying that these examples do not limit the scope of the invention. Other compounds of the above general formula can also be used according to the invention.
The alkyl or alkylaryl polyether carboxylic acids according to the invention are known per se, e.g. from US Pat. No. 2,183,853. They are prepared, for example, by reacting the corresponding polyglycol ether alcohols with alkali hydroxide and an alkali salt of chloroacetic acid.
The selection of the suitable compound according to the invention can easily be made by determining the HLB value of the acidic compound according to known methods.
In general, this value should be between 6 and 20, preferably between 8 and 14. The compounds in question can be used in the detergents according to the invention in amounts of 0.5-10, preferably 1-5% by weight of the total composition.
The detergent to which the compounds according to the invention are added contains an active one
Detergent mix and builder salts.
The active detergent compound includes an anionic and a nonionic and / or soap. The anionics are known in detergent technology. Examples thereof are alkyl sulfates having 8-22 carbon atoms in their alkyl chain; Alkyl or alkylaryl ether sulfates with 8-22 carbon atoms in their alkyl chain and containing 1-10 ethylene oxide groups; Sulfuric acid esters of fatty acid monoglycerides; sulfonated fatty acids; also the alkylbenzenesulfonates with a branched or straight alkyl chain with 8-18 carbon atoms; Alkyl sulfonates having 10-22 carbon atoms;
Oleinsulfonate, produced by sulfonating olefins with 10-22 carbon atoms and then hydrolyzing and neutralizing the sulfonation product; also acyl isothionates and acyl taurides and the like. Of course, the term anionic does not include the alkyl or alkylaryl ether carboxylic acids or soaps. The active detergent mixture further comprises a nonionic and / or soap.
The nonionics are also known. Examples are the condensation products of alkylene oxide, e.g. B. ethylene oxide or propylene oxide or mixtures thereof with alcohols having 10-26 carbon atoms, e.g. B. fatty alcohols, with mono- or dialkylphenols with 8-20 carbon atoms in their alkyl chain, with fatty acid amides, polyalkylene glycols and mixed alkylene oxide adducts, alkoxylated sugar fatty acid esters and the like.
The soaps which can be used according to the invention are the alkali or alkaline earth salts of fatty acids having 10 to 24 carbon atoms or their derivatives. Examples are the known soaps, e.g. B. the sodium soaps usually used in regulated foamers, e.g. B. the soaps made from palm oil, hardened fish oil, hardened tallow, coconut oil and the like.
The preferred active detergent mixture according to the invention comprises an anionic, a nonionic and a soap.
In general, the agents according to the invention contain 2-20% of an anionic. For moderate suds, 8-15% is generally desirable; for low suds, 2-9% is generally suitable. Furthermore, when the agents contain a nonionic, 1-10% thereof is generally suitable. The preferred range for moderate suds is 1-8% and for low suds 2-10 / o. If the composition contains a soap, the usable amount of soap is 1-10 / o, for moderate foaming 1-6% and for low foaming 5 to 10 / o. All percentages given relate to the total weight of the agent.
The remainder of the agent can consist of the normal ingredients of detergents. In general, they can contain from 20-60% of condensed Al potassium phosphates, e.g. B. sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium pyrophosphate, sodium trimetaphosphate, etc. include.
If desired, some of the condensed alkali metal phosphates can be replaced by a sequestering substance such as ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or nitrilotriacetic acid or other organic sequestering substances.
They can also contain 2-10% of a silicate, such as sodium metasilicate or water glass, 0.5-3% sodium carboxymethyl cellulose or other suitable dirt-suspending substances.
If desired, sodium perborate can also be added in an amount of up to 45% for rough washing purposes. Fluorescent substances, perfumes, tarnishing substances, inhibitors against tissue damage, bleach activators, acid modifiers, fillers such as sodium sulfate, alkalis such as orthophosphates, germicides and the like, can also be used in the agents according to the invention.
Of course, the inventive agents are not only for use in drum washing machines which, for. B. heat to boiling, but also in other types of washing machines, where controlled foaming is required, suitable. They are also suitable for ^ hand washing.
The invention is further illustrated by the following examples. In the drawings, a wavy line (#) means top foaming.
Example I.
The foam heights of five detergents of the composition given in Table I were determined by using a Dynamic foam knife (see Soap and Chemical Specialties, 37, 4 [1961], page 55) and using an aqueous solution containing 5 g! l of the agent in water of 15 German hardness in cm.
In Fig. 1, the foam heights are given in C at the respective temperatures.

From Fig. 1 it can be seen that agents 3 and 4 show an increase in foam at higher temperatures, which is undesirable, while agent no. 5 has insufficient initial foam and undesirable foam formation at higher temperatures.
Agent Nos. 1 and 2, however, show desirable foaming at lower temperatures and desirable foaming at higher temperatures.
Example 2
Agent no. 1 of the previous example was used under practical conditions in a Constructa V-4 drum washing machine and using an amount of 200 g and water of 13 German hardness (hot wash at 100 ° C.).
The agent was compared with a conventional gelled frother represented by Agent No. 4 of Example 1. The foam heights (in% of the observation glass of the washing machine) are plotted against the time in minutes in FIG. The uninterrupted line represents means no. 4 and the broken line means no. 1. According to the figure, means no. 1 has a superior controlled foaming behavior over the entire washing cycle compared to that of the conventional controlled foamer.
