Bohrkrone
Fig. 2 eine Draufsicht.
Drill bit
The invention relates to a drill bit with exchangeable, mechanically clamped cutting plates and a body provided with a cavity and openings for the flow of oil.
Previously known drill bits for drilling long openings are designed in such a way that a cutting plate is attached to its front side, and its jacket is provided with guide strips made of cemented carbide, which z. B. are firmly connected to the body of the crown by soldering.
The disadvantage of these known drill bits is that the shape and the angle of the active edge of the cutting plate cannot always be set favorably, so that the most stressed areas are broken out during operation. Another disadvantage is the firm connection of the guide strips to the body of the tool, since the piece to be machined is rubbed off by the friction of the strips on its inner wall and the cooling oil is contaminated.
The purpose of the invention is to eliminate these disadvantages of the known drill bits. The drill bit according to the invention is characterized in that the body has a first conical end face which merges into a second conical face, the axis of which lies outside the axis of the body, that the cavity forms an eccentric opening in the two conical end faces, the boundary of which is two parallel to the Axis of the body has planes, one of which serves as a seat for receiving at least two multi-edged cutting plates arranged between their adjacent cutting edges with play, the active cutting edges of which protrude over the two conical end faces of the body, and that on the circumferential side facing away from the mouth Body in recesses guide rollers are provided,
whose axes run parallel to the axis of the body and which protrude with part of their circumferential surface over the circumference of the body.
The drill bit according to the invention will now be explained in more detail with the aid of the accompanying drawing, which shows an exemplary embodiment. It shows:
Fig. 1 is a section along a vertical plane and
Fig. 2 is a plan view.
As can be seen from FIG. 1, the drill bit consists of a hollow body 1, the hollow space 12 of which is used for the passage of cooling oil. The hollow body 1 is provided in the cavity 12 with a thread which is used to screw the body 1 onto a guide rod. The end face of the crown has a conical surface 9 which merges into a second conical surface 8, the vertical axis y of which lies outside the axis x of the body 1. The cavity 12 for the passage of the cooling oil has an opening 16 in the two conical surfaces 8, 9. The mouth 16 is delimited by two planes 13, 14 which run parallel to the axis x of the body 1. One of these planes serves as a seat 11 for receiving at least two multi-bladed cutting inserts 6, 6 ', which are clamped in by means of screws 5, 5' with eccentric pegs in such a way that a clearance 7 remains between their adjacent cutting edges.
One of the multi-edged plates 6 is clamped in such a way that its overhead cutting edge runs parallel to the edge formed by the plane 14 in the conical surface 9, while the second plate 6 'is clamped in such a way that its overhead cutting edge is parallel to that of the plane 14 in the second conical surface 8 formed edge runs. The mutual position of the plates 6 is accordingly such that the overhead cutting edges of the plate 6 ′ protrude beyond the overhead cutting edge of the plate 6.
On the side of the body 1 facing away from the mouth 16 of the cavity 12, recesses 15, 15 'are arranged, in which the rollers 3, 3' are rotatably mounted on the pin 2, 2 '. The axes of these rollers 3, 3 'run parallel to the axis x of the body 1. The rollers 3, 3' protrude with their peripheral surface over the outer surface of the body 1 of the drill bit. The recess 15 ', which lies on the side facing away from the seat surface 11, is provided with incisions 10, 10' which enable the suspension. The rollers 3, 3 'are mounted on bronze supports 4, 4'.
The working process with the drill bit will now be described in more detail.
The tool is screwed onto a boring bar and moved in the direction of a rotating workpiece exactly in its axis. When the drill bit comes into contact with the workpiece, the cutting edges of the cutting tip 6 'of the end cone 8 in particular come into engagement as an active part.
The highest edge of the cutting tip 6 of the conical surface 9 then gradually engages and then its side edge, which runs approximately parallel to the outer wall of the casing of the body 1 of the drill bit, comes into engagement. The distance of this active side edge of the cutting tip 6 from the axis of the body 1 of the drill bit is greater by the dimension r than the distance of the outer casing of the guide rollers 3, 3 ', which are arranged diametrically opposite the cutout 16, as can be seen from FIG is. When drilling, the rollers roll against the inner wall of the opening of the component to be machined, as the guide rod bends as a result of the pressure.
The chips produced when the cutting edges of the plates 6, 6 'engage are flushed away by the flow of cooling oil through the cavity in the drill bit.
The drill bit described can be used to advantage in particular when drilling deep openings. Another advantage of using rotating guide rollers with a smooth surface is that rolling over the inner surface of the workpiece to be machined smooths and solidifies the surface.
