Device for temperature control of an electrically heated hotplate
The invention relates to a device for regulating the temperature of an electrically heated hotplate with a temperature-dependent resistor as a sensor and a controller that switches the heating current on and off.
A control device for stepless and temperature-dependent power control for electric hotplates is known, which is provided for this purpose with a temperature sensor which scans the temperature of the food and which is parallel to a heated bimetal that actuates a break contact. The temperature sensor and the heated working bimetal are connected in series with the hotplate to be heated. The disadvantage of this control device is that the temperature sensor is only fully effective while the hotplate is being heated.
The invention is based on the object of making the hotplate more dependent on the temperature.
The object is achieved according to the invention in that the heating element of the hotplate and a snap contact on the one hand and the temperature sensor together with the controller controlling the heating current of the hotplate on the other hand are arranged in a branch that can be connected to the phase line in such a way that the branch through the heating element of the hotplate can be separated from the controller by pressing the snap contact.
The fact that the hotplate and the temperature sensor are each arranged in a separate branch circuit results in the advantage that the temperature sensor can be fully effective not only while the hotplate is being heated, but also during the periodic interruption of the hotplate reference.
The invention is described in more detail with reference to two exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing.
In Fig. 1, 1 is a radiator, for. B. that of an electrical control hotplate, referred to, in whose electrical supply line a snap contact 2 adjustable by a cam disk, not shown, and two connecting contacts 3, 3 'that close the circuit are located. The parallel connection of a temperature sensor 4 with a temperature-dependent resistance value used in the hotplate and a working bimetal of a controller 5, which is provided with a heating coil, is connected in parallel with the hotplate heating element. This parallel connection is followed by a voltage-dependent resistor 6, which compensates for different mains voltages, so that a largely constant control current can always be used.
This device works as follows:
After the connection contacts 3, 3 'have been closed, the snap contact 2 also being closed, the temperature sensor 4, the working bimetal of the regulator 5, which is provided with a heating coil, and the hotplate heater 1 are connected to voltage. As the temperature of the hotplate rises, the resistance value of the temperature sensor 4 used in the hotplate 1 also rises. More current thus flows through the heating winding of the working bimetal of the controller 5, so that it is heated more strongly. The working bimetal bends and opens the snap contact 2, so that the circuit of the hotplate 1 is interrupted. The temperature in the hotplate drops. Likewise, the temperature of the temperature sensor 4 used in the hotplate also falls. The consequence of this is that the resistance value of the temperature sensor also falls.
As a result, more current flows again through the temperature sensor 4 and less current through the heating winding of the working bimetal of the controller 5. The working bimetal is again heated less strongly. The temperature on the working bimetal drops and the snap contact 2 in the circuit of the hotplate 1 is brought back into the closed position. The hotplate is reheated. The rule game described is repeated.
In the switching device according to FIG. 2, the working bimetal of the controller 5, which is provided with a heating coil, is connected in series with the temperature sensor 4 used in the hotplate heater 1, and this series circuit is, as in the embodiment according to FIG. 1, also parallel to the hotplate heater 1 Temperature sensor 4 and working bimetal of controller 5 is connected to another heated bimetal 6 which controls a snap contact 7 lying in series with temperature sensor 4 and working bimetal of controller 5. The heated bimetal 6 with the associated snap contact 7 takes over the voltage compensation in this embodiment. In this exemplary embodiment, not only is better voltage compensation achieved, but the conduction loss of the heating winding of the working bimetal of the regulator 5 is also reduced.
Due to the arrangement of the heated bimetal 6, the sensor resistance can be kept smaller, which makes it much easier to accommodate the temperature sensor 4 in the hotplate.
This switching device works as follows:
At the moment the cold hotplate heater 1 is switched on, a high current flows through the heating winding of the working bimetal of the controller 5, which is heated quickly and closes the snap contact 2, which is open when the hotplate is cold, so that hotplate 1 can begin heating. If the resistance of the temperature sensor 4 now rises, the heating of the working bimetal of the controller 5 is weakened, which has the consequence that the snap contact 2 is opened and thus the circuit of the hotplate heating element 1 is interrupted. This remains interrupted until the heating current for the heating winding of the working bimetal of the controller 5 rises again due to the cooling of the temperature sensor 4, whereby the snap contact 2 is brought back into the closed position.
The bimetal 6 controlling the snap contact 7 intermittently supplies current to the circuit for the temperature sensor 4 and in this way compensates for different mains voltages. This is done in such a way that the heated bimetal 6 is heated to a greater or lesser extent as a function of the respective voltage and accordingly actuates the snap contact 7.
