Device for moving a rotating suction conveyor wheel from its working position on a stick cigarette machine
The invention relates to a device for moving a rotating suction conveyor wheel from its working position on a stick cigarette machine with pneumatic cut tobacco feed into the area of the suction conveyor wheel.
It is a well-known fact in practice that due to various causes, for example wear of the format tape, tearing of the cigarette paper tape, jamming of tobacco stems, defective knives for the top layer separation and similar, suddenly occurring defects during production, malfunctions can arise that lead to a build-up of the cut tobacco on its way from the distribution device to the format device.
The elimination of such malfunctions is particularly problematic when they occur in channels that are difficult to access, for example in the strand groove of a suction conveyor wheel. It is often a relatively high expenditure of time to get the pent-up cut tobacco out of the blocked channels with primitive aids and by laborious exposure with partial dismantling. This fact is a major cause of the reduction in the effective performance of string cigarette machines, which is caused by downtimes, and is all the more important in efforts to significantly increase the performance of such machines. The increase in the conveying speed of the cut tobacco associated with the increase in output naturally increases the risk and extent of such blockages.
The purpose of the invention is to reduce the downtime caused by cut tobacco jams on stick cigarette machines with pneumatic cut tobacco conveying and suction conveying wheel and thereby to increase the effective output as well as to provide good accessibility to the organs adjacent to the suction conveying wheel, such as infeed fingers and scrapers, for their precise adjustment .
The invention is based on the object of designing the arrangement of a suction conveyor wheel in such a way that it can be quickly moved out of its working position and back into its working position with just a few simple steps, the drive and the suction effect in the suction conveyor wheel is retained in the position taken out of the working position, the areas at risk of clogging are easily accessible in this position and the cut tobacco located in the suction conveyor wheel can be removed by machine in this position.
According to the invention, the object is achieved in that the suction conveyor wheel, including its lateral boundary walls and the suction conveyor wheel drive, is rotatably mounted about a pivot axis which is in such a position relative to the strand axis that the suction conveyor wheel can be pivoted out of its working position and remains drive-connected in the pivoted position.
The pivot axis can also be the drive shaft for the transmission of the drive via gear wheels to the suction conveyor wheel.
The suction air line between the suction conveyor wheel and the fan can be designed as a flexible tube and remain firmly connected to the fan when the suction conveyor wheel is pivoted away.
The pivot axis is preferably arranged parallel to the strand axis and at a distance therefrom, the suction conveyor wheel with the lower edges of the lateral boundary walls, which are U-shaped encompassed by the cigarette paper band, upwards and serve as a cigarette paper band guide up to the area of a U-shaped channel piece and with the boundary walls adjoining a suction conveyor channel in the upper region of the suction conveyor wheel, it can be swiveled out laterally in a plane which is perpendicular to a plane extending perpendicularly through the strand axis.
The pivot axis can also be arranged at right angles to the strand axis and at a distance from the axis of rotation of the suction conveyor wheel parallel to it. The suction conveyor wheel can then be pivoted upwards in the plane of rotation of the suction conveyor wheel and in its direction of movement out of its working position with the lower edges of the lateral boundary walls serving as a cigarette paper tape guide and the boundary walls adjacent to a suction conveyor channel in the upper region of the suction conveyor wheel.
A part of the wall of the suction conveyor channel adjoining the front boundary wall can be removable or designed as a flap which can be pivoted away from the area of the suction conveyor wheel via a hinge.
The lower edges of the boundary walls of the suction conveyor wheel system, which serve to guide the cigarette paper tape, extend advantageously from a guide roller of the paper inlet to an inlet finger, and the boundary walls lie tightly against the cigarette paper tape in the working position.
The disclosed device ensures that, in the event of the aforementioned malfunctions that can occur during production, the suction conveyor wheel can be swiveled quickly out of its working position in just a few simple steps, with the drive connection of the suction conveyor wheel and the suction effect being maintained. This makes it possible to quickly remove any tobacco jams that have occurred in the area of the suction conveyor channel located in front of the suction conveyor wheel and in the area of the infeed finger of a format device by means of good accessibility and to mechanically convey out and remove the cut tobacco stuck to the suction conveyor wheel casing in the swiveled-out position by briefly engaging the machine outside the strand axis to catch.
By swiveling back the suction conveyor wheel with a single movement, the machine is ready to start again.
This ensures that downtimes are reduced and the effective output of the cigarette manufacturing machine is increased.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing using exemplary embodiments. Show in the accompanying drawings
1 shows a first embodiment of the device according to the invention with a pivot axis parallel to the strand axis in a side view,
FIG. 2 shows the device according to FIG. 1 in a front view,
3 shows a further embodiment of the device with a pivot axis arranged at right angles to the strand axis in the swiveled-out position in the front view.
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a suction conveyor wheel 1 with its hub 2 is rotatably arranged on a horizontally arranged hollow axle 3 fixedly connected to a gear housing 7 and can be moved between two fixed lateral boundary walls 5 and 6. The hollow axle 3 serving to guide the suction air into the interior of the suction conveyor wheel 1 is connected on one side via a flexible tube 8 to a fan (not shown) for the suction. On the other side, the hollow axle 3 is provided with openings 4 and is firmly connected to the front boundary wall 5, which extends over the circumference of the suction conveyor wheel 1. The rear boundary wall 6, which also extends beyond the circumference of the suction conveyor wheel 1, is firmly connected to the gear housing 7.
The free end face of the hub 2 is provided with bevel gear teeth 9 which mesh with a bevel gear 10 connected coaxially with a spur gear 11. The drive connection is established via an intermediate gear 12 and a spur gear 13, which is attached to one end of a drive shaft mounted parallel to the strand axis 35 and at a distance from this, which also serves as a pivot axis 14 for pivoting the suction conveyor wheel 1.
The gear housing 7 is provided at its lower part with two pivot arms 15 and 16 located at a distance from one another, which are supported on a continuous bearing bush 17 and are firmly connected to this. Between the two pivot arms 15, 16, the bearing bush 17 is rotatably mounted in a fixed bearing block 18. Serving as the pivot axis 14 drive shaft is rotatably mounted in this bearing bush 17 and carries at its other end a spur gear 19 which is in drive connection with the main drive shaft, not shown, of the machine.
To fix the working position of the suction conveyor wheel 1 against a stop 20 on the bearing block 18, a stop screw 22 is attached in a hub 21 located on the pivot arm 15.
In the upper area of the suction conveyor wheel 1, a suction conveyor channel 23 serving to convey cut tobacco borders with its transfer opening 24 on the periphery of the revolving suction conveyor wheel 1 or on its side boundary walls 5 and 6, which guide the tobacco rod 34 formed on the suction conveyor wheel 1 until it is transferred to the cigarette paper belt 27 serve, at. A part of the front wall of the suction conveyor channel 23 is designed in the area of the transfer opening 24 as a flap 25 which can be pivoted about a hinge 26.
The cigarette paper band 27 is fed from below via a guide roller 28 to a U-shaped channel piece 29 in the area of an inlet finger 30, the lower edges of the lateral boundary walls 5, 6 guiding the cigarette paper band 27 in the area of the lower apex of the suction conveyor wheel. The side boundary walls 5, 6 and the infeed finger 30 of a known format device dip deep into the U-shaped cigarette paper band 27 and have a tight physical contact with the cigarette paper band 27. A stripper 31 is arranged to divert the tobacco rod 34 onto the cigarette paper band 27.
A device 32 for separating the tobacco top layer in order to achieve a uniform tobacco filling height can be arranged on the suction conveyor wheel 1, said device being driven by a drive shaft 33 connected to the spur gear 11.
The operation of the device is as follows:
If one of the above-mentioned disturbances occurs during production, which lead to a growing of tobacco in front of the inlet finger 30 or in the end of the suction conveyor channel 23 in front of the suction conveyor wheel 1 up to its upper or lower area, this disturbance can be eliminated with a few simple steps will.
After opening the flap 25 on the suction conveyor channel 23, the tobacco is removed from this and the suction conveyor wheel 1 with the boundary walls 5 and 6 and the device 32 for separating the tobacco top layer are pivoted backwards around the pivot axis 14 with a single movement. The pivot axis 14, which is displaced rearwardly parallel to the strand axis 35 at a distance therefrom, promotes the lifting of the lower edges of the boundary walls 5 and 6 from the U-shaped cigarette paper band 27 and prevents damage to the cigarette paper band. The smooth pivoting of the rear boundary wall 6 to the rear is supported by a slope in the area of contact with the wall of the suction conveyor channel 23.
Since the drive connection of the suction conveyor wheel 1 and the suction effect are not interrupted by the swiveling away, the tobacco congestion at the inlet finger 30 and the tobacco in the suction conveyor wheel 1 are removed by emptying them by briefly engaging the machine.
With the swiveling in of the suction conveyor wheel 1 with a single movement and the closing of the flap 25, the machine is ready to start again.
In FIG. 3, an embodiment is shown which corresponds in its essential parts to those in FIGS. 1 and 2. In contrast to the device shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the pivot axis 14 is arranged at right angles to the strand axis 35 below the suction conveyor wheel 1. In this embodiment, instead of a bevel gear toothing, a spur gear rim 36 is seated on the hollow axle 3 and is in drive connection via the spur gears 11, 12, 13 with the drive shaft serving as pivot axle 14.
The entire drive system, including the pivot arms 15 and 16, the bearing bush 17 and the bearing block 18, is offset by 900 with respect to the device shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. In this case, the suction conveyor wheel is swiveled out of its working position in its plane of rotation about the swivel axis 14 and also remains connected to the drive in this swiveled-out position.
