Control device for automatic screwdriving station In semi-automatic screwdrivers or in stations. Automatic screwing devices known to date, for the transmission of the rotational movement to the blade, a device has been used for limiting the torque exerted by said blade on the head of the screw in order to prevent it from breaking.
In most cases, the device used is friction. The torque is transmitted by means of two parts pressed against each other under the effect of a spring and it is thus possible to determine as a function of the coefficient of friction of said parts with respect to each other. other and of the normal force exerted by the spring, the value of the tangential force transmitted, and consequently the torque which one wishes to exert on the screw, therefore the tightening force of the latter.
In semi-automatic screwdrivers, the worker lifts the blade from the screw head to move to another part when the friction device kicks in. In the few automatic screwdriving stations known to date, the screwdriver's lowering and raising is effected by time delay using a timer or a relay. The main disadvantage is that the blade of the screwdriver turns and goes down even if there are no screws., By default launches the supply system. On the other hand, if the torque required for screwing is too strong to be transmitted by friction, the time of descent of the screwdriver blade is carried out anyway, but empty.
On the other hand, when the friction device is not intimately linked to the vertical stroke of the screwdriver blade, it may happen that the latter drops too low and damages the part being assembled although the friction device no longer transmits rotation.
Consequently, the invention proposes to provide a control device for an automatic screwing station that allows total operating safety of the screwing station because this operation is subject to the presence of a screw under the screwdriver blade and that the ascent is controlled by the friction device as soon as the latter slips.
To this end, the invention relates to a control device for a screwing station, characterized by pneumatic control means comprising a deformable membrane, separating pressure chambers delivering the operating authorization of the screwing station only when a screw is placed under the screwdriver blade.
The invention will be well understood by referring to the following description given by way of nonlimiting example and to the accompanying drawings in which FIG. 1 is a schematic view of the block ensuring the grip of the screw and controlling the operation of the screwing station; fig. 2 is a schematic view of the pneumatic circuit of the up and down control of the screwdriver blade as well as of the transmission of the rotation.
Reference is made first to FIG. 1.
The block 1, ensuring the grip of the screw, comprises two pressure chambers, respectively 2 and 3, separated by a deformable membrane 4, returned by a spring 5. On the membrane is fixed a rod 6 passing through chamber 2 and which carries a contact 7 at its end. The block 1 also comprises a pneumatic circuit 8, passing through an air filter 9, of which two branches, respectively 10 and 11, lead to the chambers 2 and 3, and the end of which is formed by the head 12 which will suck up the screw and which is crossed by the screwdriver blade.
By sucking with a vacuum pump at the end 15 of the circuit 8, there is a circulation of air through the head 12, the duct 8 and the filter 9, which causes a pressure difference between the chambers 2 and 3. The pressure being less in the chamber 2, the membrane 4 deforms along 4 'and the rod 6 carrying the contact 7 closes the latter, not allowing the operation of the screwing station.
If the call for air through the head 12 has allowed a screw to be lodged in the countersink 14, the free end of the pneumatic circuit 8, 10, 11 is blocked and the suction carried out at the end 15 causes the pressure in the chambers 2 and 3 to be equalized, which returns the membrane 4 to its rest position, thus opening the contact 7 consequently allowing the screwing station to be started. The screwdriver blade can turn and descend, thus screwing the grasped screw into its hole.
Reference is now made to FIG. 2.
The operating authorization having been given by the device described above, the compressed air is returned to the pipe 20. The latter is divided into two parts, 21 and 22, which respectively supply the mechanisms A and B via the intermediary of the orifices 23 and 24. Inside the mechanism B, the compressed air passes through the countersink 25 and the hole 26 of the part 27 then continues its way, in the groove 28 of the cylindrical part 29 to exit through the hole 30 of part 27, thus putting under pressure the pipe 31 which controls the descent of the device A carrying the screwdriver blade 32.
Simultaneously, the rotation is transmitted to the screwdriver blade 32 via the parts 33 and 34, the latter carrying a diametrical notch 35 where a pin 36 acts which passes through the cylindrical part 32 of said screwdriver blade. The friction is produced between the parts 33 and 34 pressed against each other by the spring 37 and thanks to the serrated geometry of the contact surfaces 38. The sliding of one relative to the other of said parts 33 and 34 causes an axial release and displacement of 34, thus stopping the rotation of the screwdriver 32.
The compressed air passing through the pipe 21, the orifice 23 of the frame 39, the countersink 40 and the hole 41 of the part 42 and which was blocked by the part 34, can, thanks to the axial displacement of said part 34 due to friction, continue its way through holes 43 and 34, passing through the countersink 44 of 32 to come out through the clearance 45 of the part 42 to pressurize the pipe 46 through the orifice 47 of frame 39.
When the resistive torque on the screwdriver blade causes its rotation to stop, it is necessary to stop its descent and cause it to rise. This is achieved thanks to the pressure in the pipe 46 which enters the device B through the orifice 48 of the frame 50 and continues its way through the hole 49 of 25 and the millings 51 of the part 52 to come to press on the upper part. of the part 29, causing an axial displacement of the latter, which has the effect of interrupting the pneumatic circuit for controlling the descent of the screwdriver at the level of the groove 28 of 29 by making the latter communicate with the free air through hole 53 of frame 50.
Line 31, which controls the descent of block 1 carrying the screwdriver, no longer under pressure, it rises while waiting for a new cycle, while the rotation of part 33 is stopped, which causes the cut-off of the pressure in the pipe 46, therefore allows the part 29 pushed by the spring 54 to come to rest against the O-ring 55 which seals between the parts 29 and 52.
On the other hand, the raising and stopping of the rotation of the screwdriver can be triggered by a stop limiting the descent, even if the friction device is not stressed. This stopper acts on the pusher 56, which mechanically causes the axial displacement of 29, resulting in the interruption of the pneumatic circuit of the centers 31 as previously described.
