Fig. 7 zeigt einen Kabelverbinder für zwei Pole.
Fig.5 zeigt einen Ringteil 3 mit der Hülse 5.
Device for connecting tension elements, in particular cables The invention relates to a device for connecting tension elements, in particular cables. Such a device can also be designed with particular advantage for the connection of electrical cables.
The device is characterized by a bolt part which is bevelled in a wedge shape at at least one end and at least one ring part which can be axially pressed onto this bolt part and which has a sharp edge on the inside on the side facing the bolt part.
The tension element can be brought to bear on the wedge-shaped beveled end of the bolt part and the ring part can be pressed onto it, thus causing the tension element to be clamped between the wedge surface of the bolt part and the axially pressable ring part, the clamping forces being so great due to the interaction of the wedge surface with the ring part can be created so that a firm connection is created and a release of this connection is no longer possible by tensile action.
Due to the sharp edge of the ring part, when the device according to the invention is used for the connection of electrical cables, the insulating sheath of the cable can be cut under the effect of the large clamping forces and thus the ring part can be brought into electrical contact with the metallic part of the cable. While it was necessary in all previously known devices for connecting cables to remove the insulation at the cable ends, the invention enables the cable end to be clamped without removing the insulation and electrically connected in their use for cables.
The design can preferably also be made such that the bolt part has an axially running groove-shaped depression, the base of which forms the wedge surface. In this case, the cable can be stored in the recess secured against tangential displacement on the bolt part.
In its application for electrical cables, the device according to the invention can be designed as a cable connector, in which case the arrangement is expediently made so that the bolt part is beveled at both ends and ring parts can be pressed onto both ends of the bolt part, or for connection a cable with another electrically conductive part, for example a banana plug or the like.
serve, in which case the bolt part itself can form the plug or the like.
In the drawing, the invention is explained schematically on the basis of exemplary embodiments: FIG. 1 shows a cable connector, FIG. 2 shows the connection of cables to a plug, FIG. 3 shows a special design of the bolt part, FIG. 4 shows a design of the Bolt part as a fuse, Fig. 5 shows a special design of the Ringtei les, Fig. 6 shows a modified embodiment of a cable connector,
Fig. 7 shows a cable connector for two poles.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, 1 represents the bolt part, which is designed as a screw bolt. This bolt part is beveled at both ends, which creates wedge surfaces 2. 3 shows the ring parts, which are designed as screw nuts. If the ends of two electrical cables are to be conductively connected to one another by the cable connector shown in Fig.l, the bolt part 1 and the ring parts 3 are made of electrically conductive material.
It is also possible for the ring parts 3 to be designed without a thread and to be pressed onto the beam by a separate nut.
The bolt part 1 is enclosed by a sleeve 4, and the ring parts 3 are enclosed by sleeves 5. The sleeves 4 and 5 are made of insulating material such as synthetic resin and can optionally also be screwable to one another. The bolt part 1 can then be smooth and without a thread and the ring parts 3 are pressed on in this case by screwing the sleeves 4 and 5 together.
The bolt part 1 is in the sleeve 4 and the ring parts are secured in the sleeves 5 against rotation.
The cable 6 is inserted into the opening 7 of the sleeve 5 and reaches the wedge surface 2. The inner edge 8 of the ring part 3 facing the bolt part 1 is sharp and when the sleeve 5 is screwed to the ring part 3, the edge 8 cuts into the insulating jacket of the Kabels @ 6 until it comes into conductive contact with the metallic conductor of the cable 6. So that the electrically conductive connection between the cables to be connec denden on the ring parts 3 and the bolt part 1. manufactured and the cable ends are clamped in such a way that they can hardly be separated even by tensile stress.
2 shows the device according to the invention on a two-pole plug 9. In principle, this arrangement differs from the arrangement according to FIG. 1 only in that the bolt part 1 'has the wedge surface 2 only at one end, while the other end has the plug pole 10 forms. The sleeve 4 is now replaced by the body of the plug 9, and the sleeve 5 is elongated. In the same way, a banana plug, which has only one pole 10, can be ausgebil det.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, the bolt is partially formed with an axially running, channel-like depression 11, the base 12 of which is inclined to the axis of the bolt part 1 and represents the wedge surface.
-This design of the bolt part 1 has the advantage that in the area of the wedge surface created in this way, the peripheral part of the bolt part 1, which is equipped with a thread, is enlarged so that when the screw nut is screwed onto this bolt part, the first thread turns of the bolt part are already engaged. If the ring part 3 is designed as a screw nut, it is useful to equip this ring part with a threadless zone in the area of its sharp edge in order to ensure good cutting into the insulation of the electrical cable.
The cable lies in this channel-like recess 11 in the same way as on the wedge surface 2 in the embodiments according to FIGS. 1 and 2. As the drawing shows, the thread extends over a much larger peripheral part than in the end of the bolt part 1 Embodiments according to FIGS. 1 and 2, so that the screw nut, which represents the ring part 3, can also sit at the end of the bolt part 1 with a few threads.
4 shows an embodiment in which the bolt part 1 is divided into two ends 12 and 13 made of electrically conductive material, which are connected by a tubular part 14 made of electrically insulating mate rial, for example glass. A fuse wire 15 is arranged in this tubular part, so that the cable connector, which can be designed according to FIG. 1, acts as an interposed fuse.
5 shows a ring part 3 with the sleeve 5. The ring part 3 is designed as a screw nut, but has a smooth zone 16 of the bore in the area of the edge 8, so that the edge 8 can be designed as a sharp cutting edge.
The embodiment according to FIG. 6 differs from the embodiment according to FIG. 1 in that the bolt part 1 is smooth and the bracing takes place by forming the insulating sleeves 17 and 18 with a thread 19. The ring parts 20 also have a smooth bore and are supported against shoulders 21 of the sleeves 17 and 18, so that when the two sleeves 17 and 18 are screwed together they are tensioned to form the bolt part 1 and again grasp the cable with their cutting edge 8, not shown and cut through the insulating jacket.
7 shows an embodiment in which the bolt part 1 is divided in the axial direction and into two halves 1 a and 1 b, which are separated from one another by an insulating layer 22. Both halves now have wedge surfaces 2 on which the wires to be connected are brought and the ring parts formed by nuts are also divided by an insulating intermediate layer 23 into two parts 3a and 3b. Care must be taken that the two halves la and 1b of the bolt part remain isolated from one another.
This can be done by screwing the ring part 3b up to a stop, which ensures the correct rotational position, or the bolt part la, 1b can have a cross-section deviating from the circular shape and the ring part 3b can also have a clear cross-section deviating from the circular shape have, in which case, however, the ring part 3b may be designed as a screw nut, because it cannot be rotated. In this way, cable connections with two poles can be made.
