Device for cleaning boilers The subject of the present invention is a device for cleaning boilers, in particular those with a curved cross section.
Devices known to date for cleaning boilers were generally operated by hand, which was associated with considerable expenditure of time and money, quite apart from the fact that the manpower required for such work is hardly available.
The underlying object of the present invention was to create a device of the type mentioned which automatically cleans such boilers.
The device according to the invention for cleaning boilers is characterized by a mounted on the boiler of an axis that can be set in circulation through set hollow spindle, with which axis at least one arm carrying a cleaning tool is pivotably connected, with a link on the one hand to the arm and on the other hand to a nut the spindle is hinged.
In the drawing, an example Ausfüh approximately form of the subject invention is shown schematically and partially in section.
The embodiment in question is a. Device which is particularly suitable for cleaning cheese kettles. The enclosure of such a boiler is denoted by 1 and encloses the curved boiler wall 2, which with its edge 2a overlaps the top of the wall. The cleaning device can be placed on the upper edge of the boiler by means of its two diametrically opposite carriers 3, the ends of these carriers being provided with a support piece 4 on their underside.
A stop piece 24, which can be fastened to the respective carrier by means of a screw 24a, is pushed onto each of the supports 3 so that the actual cleaning device can be secured against displacement on the boiler to be cleaned by setting the two stop pieces 24 to match the outer diameter of the enclosure 1 can.
The two carriers 3 go from the frame 5, which is used to accommodate the bearing block 6 for a reduction gear, not shown, and a drive motor 7, the stop pieces 4, the length of the carrier 3 and the arrangement of the reduction gear and the motor are selected that the axis 8 driven by the motor 7 via the reduction gear lies in the geometric axis of the boiler to be cleaned.
The axis 8 passes through the hollow spindle 9 connected to the bearing block 6 and at its free end carries the bracket 10, to which its arm 11 is pivotably articulated at diametrically opposite points.
Each arm 11 is designed as a sleeve into which telescopically the cleaning tool 14 consisting of a rod 12 and a brush 13 hinged to it is inserted, with a spring 15 on the one hand against a collar 16 of the rod 12 and on the other hand against an inner shoulder 17 of the relevant sleeve 11 is supported so that the cleaning tool 14 is pressed outward by the spring 15 and the brush 13 is pressed against the inside wall of the boiler. The nut 18 is screwed freely rotatably onto the spindle 9 and is articulated to both arms 11 via a link 19.
Attached to the nut 18 is the disk-shaped switching element 20, while on the inside of the frame 5 a movable contact piece 21 parallel to the spindle axis with two contact fingers 21a and 21b extending into the axial movement path of the switching element 20 is arranged.
The movements of this contact piece 21 are transmitted in a manner not shown and known per se to a switch 23 which changes the direction of rotation of the motor, the lower contact finger 21b being displaceable on the contact piece 21 and lockable by a screw 22, so that the distance between the two contact fingers can be freely selected within certain limits.
The cleaning device described is in the manner provided on the boiler to be cleaned, for. B. cheese kettle, placed, and the contact finger 21b adjusted accordingly to the kettle depth. The rotation of the motor and thus the axis 8 now has the consequence that the arms 11 and with them the cleaning tools 14 are set in rotation about the axis 8.
While the hollow spindle 9, which is firmly connected to the bearing block 6, remains unaffected by the rotation of the axis 8, this rotary movement is transmitted via the link 19 to the nut 18, so that the latter, depending on the direction of rotation, translationally in the direction of the geometric axis of the The hollow spindle moves up or down. This translational movement is now for its part again carried over the link 19 to the arms 11, which, depending on the direction of movement, are pivoted up or down about their points of articulation on the bracket 10.
If one assumes that the direction of rotation of the axis 8 is such that the nut 18 moves upwards while lifting the arms 11, this upwards movement lasts until the switching element 20 hits the upper contact finger 21a of the contact piece 21 and when further rotation of this contact piece pushes upwards, whereby the direction of rotation of the drive motor is changed via the switch 23. The cleaning tools now run in the opposite direction of rotation around the geometric axis of the spindle 9, while the nut 18:
is now moving downwards and the cleaning tools on the handlebar 19 is lowered again. This phase lasts until the switching element 20 moves the lower contact finger 21b and via this the contact piece 21 downwards and the motor is switched back to the original direction of rotation.
This means that the cleaning tools are simultaneously set in rotation around the geometric axis of the hollow spindle 9 and moved up and down along the boiler wall, so that the entire inner wall is covered by the cleaning tools within a short time, which cleaning process can be performed any number of times as required can be repeated without the need for human intervention.
Of course, a device with only one arm is also possible, but it is advantageous for reasons of imbalance; assign the tools in pairs, although more than one pair can of course also be provided.
