Fig. 3 und 4).
Device for longitudinally stretching a plastic film
The invention relates to a device for longitudinally stretching a plastic film.
The invention is based on the object of designing a longitudinal stretching device in order to achieve a uniformly stretched plastic film of high quality so that the stretching process takes place only in a precisely defined zone and can be sensitively and precisely influenced in this longitudinal stretching zone.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that at least one heating roller, at least one transport roller arranged in the direction of movement behind the heating roller and at least one draw roller driven at a higher peripheral speed than the transport roller are provided, the tensile force present in the longitudinal stretching zone between the transport roller and the draw roller being provided by the transport roller the heating roller is kept away and that the length of the stretching zone can be changed by adjusting at least one roller.
The transport roller arranged behind the heating roller in the direction of movement absorbs the tensile force acting in the longitudinal stretching zone. As a result, the part of the film resting on the heating roller is not exposed to any significant tensile forces and is therefore not stretched. Any foreign bodies located on the heating roller or any dust carried along by the film can therefore not have a detrimental effect on the surface quality of the stretched plastic film.
The stretching process therefore takes place exclusively in the precisely defined stretching zone between the draw roller and the transport roller. In this stretching zone, the stretching process can be sensitively and precisely influenced by adjusting at least one of the two rollers.
An expedient embodiment of the device according to the invention is that the entire longitudinal stretching zone is divided into several partial stretching zones, between which at least one driven roller wrapped by the plastic film is arranged, the circumferential speed of the rollers in the direction of movement of the film from partial stretching zone to partial stretching zone enlarged.
This is because the shorter the stretching zone, the less a film jumps in width during the longitudinal stretching process. On the other hand, since a certain length of the stretching zone is required to achieve a certain stretching ratio, by dividing the entire longitudinal stretching zone into several partial stretching zones, the film is immediately caught again after each partial stretching process on the following pair of rollers and as a result cannot noticeably jump in width .
The invention is explained in the following description with reference to some exemplary embodiments illustrated in the drawing. Show it:
1 and 2 each show a longitudinal section through a stretching device according to the invention (with two different positions of the pair of drawing rollers),
3 and 4 are schematic representations of a second exemplary embodiment of a longitudinal stretching device according to the invention (in different roller positions),
FIGS. 5 to 7 show three further exemplary embodiments of the device according to the invention.
The device shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 for longitudinally stretching a plastic film contains a heating roller 1, a pair of transport rollers consisting of transport rollers 2 and 3, a pair of drawing rollers consisting of drawing rollers 4 and 5, and a cooling roller 6 runs in the manner shown over said rollers and is stretched in the longitudinal stretching zone delimited by rollers 3 and 4. The length of the stretching zone is denoted by d in FIG. 1.
The two rollers 4 and 5 of the pair of draw rollers can be pivoted together about the axis 10 of the cooling roller 6 by means of a holder 9. If necessary, the two rollers 2 and 3 of the Transportwal zenpaares can also be pivotable about the axis 11 of the heating roller 1.
The heating roller 1, the transport rollers 2 and 3 and the pulling rollers 4 and 5 are heated separately in a controllable manner and keep the film 7 in the stretching zone 8 at the temperature required for the stretching process.
The transport rollers 2 and 3 are driven at a circumferential speed that is slightly greater than that of the heating roller 1, so that the film 7 lies snugly against the heating roller despite the slight stretching caused by the heating on the heating roller 1. The tension rollers 4 and 5 are driven at a peripheral speed which is greater than that of the transport rollers 2 and 3, so that the film in the stretching zone 8 is subjected to a tensile force which causes longitudinal stretching. The circumferential speed of the cooling roller 6 is again somewhat greater than that of the pulling rollers 4 and 5, so that the film 7 is also in good contact with the circumference of the cooling roller 6. The transport rollers 2 and 3 keep the tensile force effective in the longitudinal stretching zone 8 away from the part of the plastic film 7 resting on the heating roller 1, so that the film is not yet stretched in the area of the heating roller 1.
If the length d of the stretching zone 8 is to be changed, the rollers 4 and 5 of the pair of draw rollers are pivoted about the axis 10 of the cooling roller 6, whereby the length d increases or decreases depending on the pivot direction. Fig. 2 shows the case in which the length d of the stretching zone is reduced to the value zero.
With this change in the length d of the stretching zone, it is important that a direct transition of the film from the draw roller 5 to the cooling roller 6 is always guaranteed. The same also applies in the event that instead of or in addition to the pivoting movement of the pulling rollers 4 and 5, the transport rollers 2 and 3 are pivoted about the axis 11 of the heating roller 1. Here, too, there is a constant short transition of the film 7 in all pivoting positions from the heating roller 1 to the transport roller 2 guaranteed.
In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 (as well as in the further exemplary embodiments in FIGS. 5 to 7), the heating roller and the cooling roller are not shown. Only the transport and pulling rollers that delimit the longitudinal stretching zone are illustrated.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 4, four pairs of rollers 21, 22, 23 and 24 are provided, each of which contains two rollers (e.g. 25, 26). The plastic film 27 to be stretched runs in an S-shaped loop over the individual roller pairs and is stretched in the area of the partial stretching zones (e.g. 28, 29, 30, etc.).
The two rollers of each roller pair (e.g. rollers 25 and 26) are driven by a common drive element 31 in opposite directions of rotation at the same peripheral speed. The circumferential speed increases in the direction of movement of the film 27 from roller pair to roller pair, so that a certain tensile force acts on the film 27 in each of the individual partial stretching zones 28, 29, 30, etc. All rollers are also heated in a controllable manner and keep the film 27 at the temperature required for the stretching process.
In order to be able to change the length d of the individual partial stretching zones, in the exemplary embodiment of FIGS. 3 and 4, the second roller 26 of each roller pair (e.g. the roller pair 21) can be pivoted by means of a bracket 32 about the axis 33 of the common drive member 31, which at the same time is the axis of the first roller 25 of this roller pair. By pivoting the holder 32 and the roller 26 carried by it, the length d of the following partial stretching zone 28 can be changed between a maximum value and the value zero (cf. FIGS. 3 and 4). The holders 32 of all roller pairs are expediently rigidly connected to one another, so that the length of all partial stretching zones can be adjusted by means of a single adjusting member.
In the further exemplary embodiment of the invention shown in FIG. 5, the longitudinal stretching device contains two partial stretching zones 34, 35, between which a roller 36 is arranged. In front of the partial stretching zone 34, a roller pair consisting of rollers 37 and 38 is arranged and behind the partial stretching zone 35 a roller pair consisting of rollers 39 and 40 is arranged. To change the length of the partial stretching zones 34 and 35, the roller 36 can be adjusted upwards or downwards in the direction of arrow 41.
The rollers 37 and 38 are driven with a certain first peripheral speed, the roller 36 with a higher second peripheral speed and the rollers 39 and 40 with an even higher third peripheral speed. It goes without saying that the system shown in FIG. 5 can be extended as desired if more than two partial stretching zones are desired. Here, too, keep the tensile force occurring in the first partial stretching zone in the first rollers 37 and 38 away from a heating roller (not shown in FIG. 5) arranged in front of the roller 37.
The embodiment according to FIG. 6 differs from that in FIG. 5 only in that the rollers 37 and 38 and the rollers 39 and 40 do not bear directly on one another. This design can be useful especially for sensitive foils.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 7, the two partial stretching zones 34 and 35 are delimited by three rollers 42, 43, 44 which are driven separately with increasing peripheral speed and to which a counter-pressure roller 45, 46, 47 is assigned. The roller 43 lying between the two partial stretching zones 34 and 35 can be adjusted with its counter-pressure roller 46 in the direction of the arrows 41 to change the stretching zone length.
The device according to the invention is basically suitable for the longitudinal stretching of all types of plastic films. The invention is of particular importance for the relatively difficult longitudinal stretching of polyethylene terephthalate and all copolymers.
