Suspension device for a bogie axle drive mechanism The present invention relates to a device for carrying out the suspension of a bogie axle drive mechanism consisting of a fixed gear case. rigidly to a motor member, such as an electric motor, hydraulic or mechanical transmission.
Assemblies are known for the suspension of traction motors in which the motor rests, on the one hand on the axle by means of bearings, directly or via a hollow shaft and, on the other hand on the bogie frame. This assembly is said to be suspended by the nose.
With such an arrangement, a motor can only drive one axle.
There are also transmissions using toothed wheels contained in a rigid housing, fixed to the bogie frame or bearing on the axle or whose suspension is carried out both by bearing on the axle of one end. housing and by fixing the other end to the bogie frame. In this case, it is necessary to use special transmission devices.
The device according to the invention, intended to provide the suspension of a bogie axle drive mechanism comprising a motor assembly and a transmission pinion gear contained in a housing, is characterized in that the pinion gear drives two hollow shafts each leading an axle, each hollow shaft carrying a plurality of means intended for the transmission of the engine torque to the axle, while allowing the necessary clearances of the housing relative to the es sieux,
the engine itself being rigidly fixed to the crankcase at one of its ends and being suspended by the other end from the bogie frame by means allowing it to occupy any desired relative position with respect to the frame.
Embodiments of the device according to the invention are described below by way of example. In the course of this description, reference is made to the accompanying sins which show FIG. 1 a schematic plan view of a type C bogie (with three powered axles), fitted with a device according to the invention; figs. 2 to 4, schematic partial plan views of various embodiments of the invention; the fi-. 5, a partial elevational view showing the engine suspension; fig. 6, a partial view, in elevation, of a bogie equipped with a device according to the invention.
Motor 1 is firmly assembled to housing 2 containing the gears. This casing is a sufficiently rigid conventional casing in which the drive pinion 3 of the motor transmits its movement to two toothed wheels 5 and 5 'by means of two intermediate gears 4 and 4'. Each toothed wheel 5 and 5 'is wedged on a hollow shaft 6 and 6' positioned so as to be substantially coaxial with the corresponding axle 7 and 7 '.
The hollow shaft 6 rotates on bearings, or in the example chosen, on two ball bearings 8 slightly spaced apart so as to create a sufficient embedding torque on the hollow shaft.
The hollow shaft 6 comprises at one of its ends a plate provided with several journals 9. Each journal 9 bears on an elastic element 10, made of rubber for example, housed in a cell which, in the example chosen, is practiced in the wheel itself.
These elements 10 which can be deformed in all directions ensure the transmission of the engine torque with the desirable elasticity and constitute two of the fulcrums of the three-point suspension according to the invention, their deformation sufficient to ensure the effect of ball joint required.
The third point of suspension, which is that of the engine, is taken from the bogie frame 15. If necessary, an extension 1.1 rigidly fixed to this engine increases the distance separating the suspension point of the engine from the links to the axle. so as to reduce the angular amplitudes between hollow shafts 6, 6 'and axles 7, 7'.
This assembly makes it possible to reduce the accelerations imprinted on the traction motor by the axle. In the example shown, this acceleration reduced to the center of gravity G of the engine is approximately a quarter of that experienced by the hollow shaft itself.
The end 12 of the extension 11 is suspended from the bogie frame 15 by a link 13, the axes 14, 14 'of articulation of the link 13 being such that they allow a slight ball joint effect.
Instead of taking the wheel as a fulcrum, it is possible, in accordance with the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, use a 16 plate wedged on the axle.
If the torque to be transmitted to the axles is very high, and the weight of the assembly to be supported is very high, it is possible to use a device such as that shown in FIG. 3 in which the suspension points are formed as follows On the axle 7 is wedged a plate 17, driven in rotation by the hollow shaft 6, specially shaped for this purpose, also by means of journals 9 penetrating into the elements elastic 10. This plate, which is of a small diameter compatible with the size of the motor and the template, supports a fraction of the weight while transmitting a small part of the torque over a diameter d.
The other part of the weight and the major part of the torque are transferred to the driving wheel which allows the transmission on a much larger diameter D.
It is also possible to have recourse to a sy metric device as shown, by way of example, in FIG. 4, which comprises two plates 18, 18 'arranged symmetrically with respect to the hollow shaft 6 and driven, as described above.
The device according to the invention makes it possible to control with a single motor two adjacent axles of the same bogie. It is therefore valid for a type B bogie (with two driving axles) and it also makes it possible to produce a type C bogie with three driving axles driven by two traction motors by equipping this bogie with two identical devices arranged, as shown. fig. 1, the combination of the two mechanisms taking place on the middle axle.
In such a bogie, the center axle must be able to move sideways in curves. The device according to the invention has the advantage of facilitating this movement without having to resort to complicated systems. The middle axle in its displacement drives the corresponding hollow shaft and the motor-crankcase assembly containing the pinion takes a position compatible with the position of the axle thanks to the connecting rods 13.
