Motor vehicle with driving wheels with independent suspensions. The present invention relates to a motor vehicle with driving wheels with independent suspension. This vehicle is characterized in that each driving wheel rotates around an axis which is arranged parallel to and at a certain distance from the axis of the driving shaft receiving its movement from the differential, and which is mounted to oscillate. parallel to itself around this motor shaft,
elastic means being provided to limit the amplitude of the oscillations of the wheel relative to the chassis.
The single figure of the appended drawing represents, by way of example, a partial view of an embodiment of the vehicle according to the present invention, showing in horizontal section the transmission and suspension device 'of one of the driving wheels.
On the end of the trumpet 1 of the rear axle is fixed a pad 2 on which pi votes a part 3 forming, with a flange 4 bolted to it, a casing made watertight by means of sealing members 5 and 6. The tube 1. is fixed to the vehicle frame by means of a part 7.
The end of the transmission shaft 8 coming from the differential rotates in a ball bearing 9 and carries, fixed at the end, a toothed wheel 10 located inside the housing 3, -4. The drive wheel shaft 12, partially visible in the drawing, is supported by the housing 3, 4 by means of two ball bearings 13, 14.
The axis of the shaft 12 is located at a distance from the axis of the shaft 8 and is arranged parallel to it. A toothed wheel 15 is fixed on the shaft 12 and crane directly with the toothed wheel 10. These two toothed wheels may have straight or preferably oblique teeth.
A ribbed tab 16 is fixed, for example, by welding, to part 3 of the oscillating housing and serves as a fixing point for one end of a coil spring 17, the other end (not shown) of which is fixed. on the vehicle frame.
The operation of the device shown is as follows: As a result of the mode of transmission between the shafts 8 and 12 and of their respective position, the axis of the shaft 12 of the wheel 11 can oscillate parallel to itself around the 'axis of the shaft 8. The camer 3, 4 then oscillates in turn nant on the bearing 2, while the wheel 15 rolls on the. wheel 10. In this way, the wheel 11 of the vehicle oscillates independently of the other wheels of the vehicle and this in a plane perpendicular to the roadway, which corresponds to the ideal form of work for the tires.
It will be noted that the oscillation of a drive wheel such as 11 requires only one pivot bearing 2 and that the amplitude of this oscillation is limited and regulated by the spring 17.
The arrangement shown makes it possible to leave the rear axle and its transmission shaft coming from the engine, fixed relative to the chassis of the vehicle, which considerably reduces the moving masses and eliminates the so-called articulated couplings because in and their sleeves- slides. In addition, the thrust or the restraint of the vehicle generated by the variations in the speed of rotation of the wheel on the roadway is effected by the median interior of the oscillating housing 3, 4.
All the moving parts shown in the drawing being enclosed in a sealed casing, can move in an oil bath forming part of the general oil circulation by the fact that the interior of this casing communicates with the Inside tube 1. This lubrication mode eliminates any pressure lubricator.
