Device with plate for keeping food served on the latter warm. The invention relates to a device with a plate for keeping food served on the latter warm, with a lower part and a lid and a heat storage device for receiving the amount of heat required for keeping warm.
To prevent hot food on plates from cooling down while serving, warming bowls are used, on the edge of which a plate with prepared food is placed to keep it warm for some time.
A disadvantage of these warming bowls is that they have to be heated very strongly before use, since the food in the plate in question does not cool down significantly.
The invention aims at a device which is able to keep the plate with the food served on it sufficiently long enough without having to use a storage temperature that is undesirably high in terms of its handling and effect.
The device with plate, for keeping food served on the latter warm is characterized (according to the invention by a single-walled, plate-receiving container with lid, part of the container wall is thickened and is formed as a heat store.
In the following two embodiments of the subject invention He are explained in more detail with reference to drawings.
Fig. 1 shows in cross section the lower part of a device with the storage heat-emitting part and the arrangement of the dinner plate with dash-dotted lines.
Fig. 2 shows another device in the ready-to-use state.
The shown in Fig. 1 lower part 1a of a warming device has a bowl-like outer shape and is made of relatively thin-walled material such as. B. made of chrome steel. The bottom part 2a of the lower part 1a is drawn inwards and is set down in such a way that the lower part is only supported on its support with a narrow annular surface 3a.
The s9 ge formed circular cavity between the bottom part 2a and the base can be closed by a flat disc connected to the annular surface 3a, which can be slightly concave ge curved, whereby the bottom part 2a can be kept even better heat-insulating from the support. As can be seen from Fig. 1, the bottom part 2a is kept flat, but can be slightly cambered downwards to act as a heat storage plate 4a, which example, can be made of aluminum and is hard anodized, by gluing or other Kind of attach. The plate 4a forms a thickened container wall area.
The diameter of this plate 4a, which compensates for the heat losses for some time, is dimensioned so that a plate 5a with its flat underside 7a surrounded by an annular projection 6a comes to rest immediately and the projection 6a projects beyond the upper edge of the heat storage device 4a. The plate 5a shown with dash-dotted lines in Fig. 1 is also flush with the lower edge 8a of its cylindri's edge 9a on the bowl edge 10a. As a result, a well-insulating air gap surrounding the heat accumulator 4a is formed between the edge part of the lower part la and the underside of the plate edge.
The edge part of the lower part of the building can also be made double-walled in order to further improve the insulation.
The device finds its intended use by preheating the above-described lower part la with the storage plate 4a to a temperature corresponding to the respective food and the warming time of about 80 to 130 C. Likewise, the plate 5a is preheated to about 60 degrees before the food is served. After placing the plate directly on the hot plate protruding from the bottom of the lower part 1a, the whole thing is covered with a cover (not shown in FIG. 1) which extends over the plate rim 9a and which has also been preheated like the lower part.
A suitable form for the lid is shown in FIG. The embodiment of FIG. 2 shows some changes from the device.
A bowl 1b made of light metal with a diameter of, for example, about 250 mm has a ver thickened bottom 2b, which is drawn in and stepped down, whereby those only with a narrow annular surface 3b is supported on their support, while their lower bottom surface with the contact surface forms a well-insulating air gap a few millimeters thick.
The approximately 4 mm thick side wall 11 rises with a gradual transition from the bottom 2b obliquely upwards and outwards by approximately 30 mm and has a generally conical shape; the side wall 11 ends with the edge 10b which is almost perpendicular to the bottom part 1b. The inner wall of the edge 10b is kept almost cylindrical and thus forms a shoulder with the conical wall 11.
On this paragraph, the plate 5b comes with the lower karst of its cylindrical edge 9b to the Abstüt zen, which fits against the inner edge of the bowl edge 10b.
The upper end surface of the edge 10b of the bowl 1b is flat. Likewise, the end surface of the edge 12 of the lid 13, which is shaped like the bowl 1b, is flat. The edge 12 of the lid runs similar to the edge 10b of the bowl 1b, so that its inner surface is also almost cylindrical.
At the edge 12 of the lid 13 joins the slightly inwardly drawn in cross-section, generally sloping inward, about 40 mm high and about 3 mm thick wall 14, which gradually merges into the flat lid part 15, the thickness is approx. 4 mm. In the middle of the thickened, planar cover part 15, a hole 16 is provided which is intended to facilitate removal.
From Fig. 2 it can be seen that the plate 5b is completely enveloped by the bowl 1b and the lid 13 and both its top and bottom of ge separated, at least 5 mm wide, insulating Luftspal th is surrounded. The inner surfaces of the bowl 1b and the lid 13 are reflective.
These measures ensure that the storage heat after preheating the bowl 1b to approx. 80-130 C is sufficient to compensate for the heat dissipation (to the outside) long enough and to largely protect the plate from heat dissipation to keep it at a minimum temperature of To keep 60 C.
Advantageously, the outer surface of the bowl 1b and the lid 13 can be provided with a hard anodized layer of about 60, c1, which reduces the heat transfer when the preheated parts are touched and the heat is felt less intensely. The bowl and lid can expediently be given a shape such that they can be stacked in and among one another, and that a sufficient air gap is obtained between them and the plate.
