Actuator on a can, the contents of which are under pressure
The invention relates to an actuator on a can, which has a valve tube protruding outward from a can wall part, displaceable in its longitudinal direction, which is to be pressed inwards by means of the actuator to allow the liquid or pasty can contents to escape. A common actuator consists of a small cap that sits on the outwardly protruding end of the valve tube and has a lateral outlet opening. The aim of the invention is to create an actuator that can also be used to spread the contents of the can or for cleaning purposes, if the can contains a cleaning agent.
The actuator according to the invention is characterized in that it has a soft body which is provided with means for fastening it on the valve tube and with a bore opposite the same.
In Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawing, two embodiments of the subject invention are shown in longitudinal section. In Fig. 1, the upper part of a conventional spray can 1 is shown, on which a loading actuator 2 is attached. The spray can 1 has a central projection 3 from which a displaceable valve tube 4 protrudes, which is shown in the closed position of the valve located inside the can. When the valve tube 4 is pressed downwards, it moves downwards against a fairly strong elastic force, whereby the valve is opened, so that the pressurized contents of the can 1 emerge in the direction of arrow 5 through the valve tube 4. A small cap, which has a lateral outlet opening, is usually attached to the valve tube 4 as an actuator.
By pressing on the cap, the valve tube 4 is moved downwards and the exiting liquid or pasty substance emerges laterally to the cap, the former in the form of a spray jet consisting of many, finely distributed droplets. Instead of this usual small cap, the actuating member 2 shown is now provided.
The actuator 2 has a z. B. made of plastic circular base plate 6, on which a cylindrical sponge 7 is attached according to the drawing, for. B. is glued. The sponge, which may be made of foam, or in its place another porous body, eg. B. made of felt or textile materials, has a preferably central bore 8, the diameter of which is equal to or greater than the outer diameter of the valve tube 4.
A central, cylindrical, open bush 9 protrudes downward from the base plate 6 and tightly surrounds the valve tube 4, the central part 10 of the base plate 6 resting on the free end of the valve tube 4 and having a bore 11, the diameter of which is approximately the inner diameter of the valve tube 4 and which opens into a flat trough 12 provided on the upper side of the base plate 6. In the shot position shown, the lower end of the socket 9 is at a certain distance from the central projection 3 of the can 1. Depending on the contents of the can, the size of the distance mentioned is selected for metering the amount that emerges.
From the base plate 6, a central, open, cylindrical socket 13 also projects downwards a little further than the central socket 9. The socket 13 touches an annular, upwardly projecting bead 14 of the can 1 from the inside with slight pressure. Finally, protrudes from the base plate 6 still has an outer, open, conically widening socket 15 downwards, the lower edge of which engages a little in an annular rim recess 16 of the can 1. It can be seen that the base plate 6 with the outer bushing 15 forms a cover for the upper end of the can 1
The can 1 can be a pasty cleaning compound or a cleaning liquid, e.g. B. for cleaning upholstery furniture, mirrors, window panes, cars, shoes, etc., as well as cosmetic products, shaving foam, massage oil, sunscreen and the like.
If you take the can 1 filled with cleaning fluid in your hand and press the sponge 7 z. B. against a window pane, the valve tube 4 is pressed inward, the liquid emerging from the same is sprayed onto the part of the window opposite the opening 8, and the sponge 7 can be used to distribute the liquid and absorb the contaminants dissolved by the same. It is clear that the pressure required to open the valve is only maintained as long as one wishes more cleaning fluid and otherwise wiping practically without pressure.
The embodiment according to FIG. 2 differs from that according to FIG. 1 in that the middle socket 13a is slightly longer than the socket 13 and at its lower end has a small outer flange 17 which engages behind the upwardly projecting bead 14 of the can] . When the actuator 2 is placed on the can 1, the bead 14 and / or the flange 16 must yield somewhat elastically. The flange 17 now prevents the actuating member 2 from falling off without the bushing 13a touching the bead 14 and being held in place by friction, as in the case of FIG. 1. The opening and closing of the valve is now not delayed by friction.
As a soft body 7 for spreading the mass emerging from the can not only a sponge can be used, it could, for. B. a body provided with bristles or upright suppositories are used.
