Die-casting device, in particular for the automatic mass production of cast parts in a continuous process. The invention relates to a die-casting device, in particular for the automatic mass production of cast parts in a continuous process.
In the foundries, the casting material, for example magnesium and aluminum, is currently being melted in the form of raw ingots in melting furnaces and then transferred to crucibles that are used in holding furnaces by means of a crane or forklift truck.
Here the metal is washed and, after an appropriate interval, is again transferred to working pans on die casting machines. The die casting machines are filled from here automatically by a nitrogen pump through a heated filling tube or by hand.
This method of operation has the disadvantage that the actually good degree of purity of the raw material is impaired by the treatment with washing salts due to oxidation, slag and the effects of dirt. In the case of magnesium in particular, fires occur despite the melt being covered with salt or inert gas, which result in additional contamination of the melt. All facilities subject to pollution and cleaning for melting, washing,
Keeping the metal warm and for filling the machines are very expensive to purchase and are subject to heavy wear. The cleaning and repair costs incurred are high.
The invention is based on the task of simplifying and shortening the workflow, largely excluding the devices mentioned and avoiding the disadvantages mentioned. According to the invention, this object is achieved by a die-casting device, which is characterized by an electrical melting plant attached to the die-casting machine and working directly in the filling opening of the filling sleeve,
which is designed in terms of its size for the amount required for casting a casting in each case and the casting material is supplied in this amount.
In a further embodiment of the invention, either a common crucible is used for melting and holding the casting material warm, or a separate induction coil, which is arranged above the induction-heated holding crucible and is open at both ends, is provided, which is set in its power so that the The casting material is melted when moving around within the time determined by the cycle time of the die casting machine and flows into the holding crucible. In the latter case, it is useful to attach several, in particular special three ceramic strips to the inner wall of the induction coil, which run in the longitudinal direction of the coil and serve to guide and hold the casting material downwards ver narrowing.
For emptying the crucible into the filling sleeve, a compressed air-operated locking slide can advantageously be provided; or the crucible is arranged tiltable around a shaft for pouring the molten material directly into the opening of the filling sleeve.
A further shortening of the time required for melting the individual ingots can be achieved by arranging an overflow pipe in the crucible to allow the melt to flow out into the filling sleeve. The height of the overflow pipe is then dimensioned in a further development of the inven tion so that a sufficient amount of liquid melt sump remains in the crucible to submerge a single ingot.
When the ingot is immersed in glass in the melt sump, the heat transfer to the ingot is particularly intense and rapid, so that the melting time is reduced and the capacity of the entire casting system is increased. When a pig is introduced, an amount of metal is displaced in the crucible that corresponds to the volume of the pig. This amount flows through the overflow pipe (standpipe) in the shortest possible way to the filling nozzle.
In a further advantageous embodiment of this embodiment of the die-casting device, a protective tube can be provided that shields the overflow pipe at its mouth and retains any oxides and other impurities floating on the surface of the melt, so that only clean material runs off.
The protective tube can be provided with outflow holes, passed through the lid of the crucible and connected to the protective gas line. The melting of the masses, especially magnesium pigs, then takes place largely in the absence of air or under the protection of a protective gas shower. This practically eliminates the risk of fire.
In order to prevent the metal from running on, an immersion body can also be inserted into the melt sump for the duration of the metal overflow when the ingot is introduced into the crucible. After the immersion body has moved out, the crucible is then lowered so far that the metal can no longer run due to machine vibrations or the like. In this way it is possible to dispense with any valves - which are usually susceptible in practical casting operations.
The induction coil surrounding the crucible is expediently seated in a space which is closed on all sides and which is delimited at the top by a frame, at the bottom by a base and at the outside by a Cu sheet metal jacket and a further sheet metal jacket, leaving a gap.
The casting process can be largely automated by automatically feeding a magnesium ingot from a pig magazine to a funnel located above the crucible, the base of which is opened and closed by a slide controlled in time with the casting process.
In order to increase the accuracy of the dosage even further, in a further embodiment of the invention, the die casting machine can also be fed cyclically with liquid casting metal that a drain pipe leading to the filling can is sent through a scoop whose working cycle interacts with the mechanical Pig is actively controlled for filling itself.
With the invention, the previous agile melting systems and all holding and working crucibles with filling equipment such as pumps and filling tubes are no longer required. The washing process and the washing salts required for this are omitted. Transports including transport equipment, cranes, forklifts and other vehicles as well as labor are also largely saved. The space requirement is much less. The working and air conditions in the foundry are improved. The pollution, the resulting wear and tear of the device and repair work are no longer necessary. In addition, there is a considerable reduction in costs.
The invention is illustrated in several Ausführungsbeispie len in the drawings. They show, each in a schematic representation: Fig. 1 a die-casting machine with the melting plant according to the invention, Fig. 2 the same machine as Fig. 1 with a different embodiment of the melting plant, Fig. A section III-III:
, by Fig. 2, Fig.4 a third embodiment of a melting plant with an overflow pipe, Fig.5 a melting plant with automatic loading of the overflow pipe by means of a scoop.
11 with the die casting machine, with 12 its filling sleeve. The die-casting machine 11 is a cold water machine of a type known per se, in which a vertical head plate b is mounted on a base plate a, to which the lock cylinder c is flanged zen cally. The piston rod d of the piston, which is hydraulically moved horizontally in the lock cylinder, works on a toggle linkage e, which moves the movable machine plate f horizontally.
On the movable machine plate f, the movable mold half g is attached, wel che is connected by the toggle linkage e with the fixed mold half h and is firmly locked with her. The fixed mold half h is attached to the fixed machine plate i and the bracing of the two mold halves g, h is recorded by the fixed Maschi nenplatte i and the top plate b connec dende tie rods k. These tie rods k, four pieces at each corner of the square machine plates, are held by nuts 1 on their ends against the machine plates b and i.
In the tensioned form g , h leads a pressure chamber bil Ding supply line m for the liquid melt, which is formed at its outer end as a filling sleeve 12, the piston n of the hydraulically operated shot cylinder in the pressure chamber o protrudes: in such a way that in the starting position in front of the piston n the filling opening p is on the top of the horizontally arranged filling sleeve 12 for filling the liquid melt into the filling sleeve.
After it has been filled in, the piston n is pushed forward hydraulically by the shot cylinder o into the pressure chamber m of the filling sleeve 12, so that the liquid metal shoots into the mold under pressure. To remove the casting, the piston rod d is withdrawn; the knee:
The lever linkage contracts and pulls the movable machine plate f with the movable mold half away from the fixed mold half h, so that the casting can be removed.
On or next to the die-casting machine 11, above or next to the filling opening p in the filling sleeve 12, there is a crucible 14 a or 1.4 b heated by an induction coil 13 a or 13 b, which only contains the crucible 14 a or 1.4 b required for casting a cast part, for example in Stan genform 15 to grasp the amount of weight supplied and needs to be correspondingly large and is emptied directly into the filling sleeve 12 via a slide 17 actuated by the compressed air cylinder 16.
The emptying into the filling socket 12 can optionally also take place by tilting the crucible 14 a or 14 b, which in this case is then arranged next to the socket 12 and its filling opening p, around a shaft 18 (by dash-dotted line drawing of the shaft 18 and a second Socket 12 indicated).
In the example shown in FIG. 1, the crucible 14 a - with the induction coil 13 a correspondingly dimensioned for only one rod piece 15 - simultaneously serves as a melting and holding crucible. In the example according to FIG. 2, the crucible 14 b is used exclusively as a warming crucible.
Here then the melting of the cast part, a rod 15, takes place in a separate induction coil 19 arranged above the holding crucible 14 b, which is designed in its power so that the rod piece 15, which corresponds in size to the melt required for the mold , is melted in a very short time and flows into the holding crucible 14 b.
To fill and hold the casting material rod 15, three ceramic strips 20 running vertically and narrowing at the bottom are attached to the inner wall of the induction coil 19.
The invention makes it possible to melt, for example, of light metal ingots that are supplied via a magazine, to be carried out in a continuous process and that in the time span determined by the cycle time of the die casting machine 11.
Impurities and oxidation can be prevented in the usual way by excluding air or under the protection of a protective gas shower. The invention is particularly suitable for magnesium, with its high filling speed.
The material to be cast is brought to the casting temperature in the small crucible 14 a or 14 b in the amount required for a cast part and fed directly to the filling sleeve 12 of the die casting machine 11, avoiding long filling lines. The processes can be automated from the storage of the raw ingots to the filling of the molten metal into the machine 11.
In the third exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 4, 11 again denotes the die-casting machine, 12 its filling sleeve, n the hydraulically operated pressure piston and 14 the one directly above the filling opening 12 of the filling sleeve 12, which is provided by an induction coil 13 heated crucible.
The crucible 14 with its induction coil 13 depends on a cylinder 53 made of copper sheet metal, which is in turn left in a cylindrical sheet metal jacket 54, which is covered by a bottom 50 and above by a frame 51 with a lid 52.
In the crucible there is an overflow pipe 55 (standpipe) which opens directly into the filling opening of the filling sleeve 12 and is surrounded at this point by a protective gas shower 56 connected to the SO2 line. A protective tube 57 is located above the upper mouth of the overflow tube 55 and is connected to the SO 2 protective gas line 58, protruding through the cover 52, and is provided with outflow holes 59 in the crucible below the cover 52.
The melting system consisting of the crucible 14 and the induction coil 13 is designed in size for the weight intended for a finished cast part and this amount is supplied as ingot 60 in Stan geneform. The overflow pipe 55 is arranged eccentrically in the crucible 14 and its height is selected in such a way that a sufficient amount of liquid melt sump remains in the crucible 14 to submerge a single ingot 60.
When the crucible 14 is loaded with an ingot 60, the amount of melt that is displaced and runs through the overflow pipe 55 into the filler sleeve 12 of the die-casting machine 11 as is necessary for casting a cast part. At the same time, the ingot 60 immersed in the melt pool begins to melt, which ends in the short period of time determined by the cycle time of the casting machine 11 due to the correspondingly high power of the induction coil 13 and the all-round contact of the ingot 60 with the liquid metal is.
As he mentioned at the beginning, the Besdhidkan of the crucible 14 together with the ingot 60 a (not shown) Tauchkör is introduced into the melt and extended again after the overflow process has ended to lower the melt level and prevent any dripping of the metal.
Above the crucible 14 is a pig magazine 61 with a drop opening 62 and below this a funnel 63 seated on the lid 52 of the crucible 14, which receives a pig 60 from the magazine 61 and holds it in readiness and its bottom The slide 64 controlled by the die-casting machine 11 forms so that the ingots. 60 from the magazine 61 into the. Crucible 14 take the path indicated by the arrows.
For the automatic loading of the melting crucible 14, the individual pigs 60 are fed in the magazine 61 to over the filling opening 62 and the funnel slide 64 is opened, controlled in the production cycle of the automatically operating machine 11, so that the mass production of the raw ingot 60 to the finished casting takes place fully automatically in a continuous process.
In experiments, for example, magnesium ingots 60 weighing 7 kg were melted within 80 seconds, brought to casting temperature and cast.
A special embodiment of the die-casting device according to the invention is shown in FIG. 5, in which the discharge pipe leading to the filling sleeve is charged by a scoop, the working cycle of which is controlled automatically in conjunction with the mechanical ingot feed. The melt is fed into the mold in a known manner, as is done by means of the filling sleeve 12 through the pressure piston n.
The feed pipe 100 of an electric crucible 101 is arranged directly above the filling opening p of the filling sleeve 12. The crucible 101 is located in an insulating housing 102, the top and bottom plate z. B. by four (not illustrated presented) in the corners arranged studs verbun can be the. The electrical heating resistors 103 are housed in the space between the housing and the outer wall of the crucible.
The heating power is measured so that magnesium ingots with the weight of a die-cast part are melted and brought to the casting temperature in a time that corresponds to the cycle time of the die-casting machine. The melting process is supported by a melt sump remaining in the Tie gel.
The pigs 104 are fed automatically from a magazine 105 by means of an ejector piston 106 according to the shot sequence of the die-casting machine. When a new pig is introduced into the melting pot, the level of the melt rises to the level indicated by the symbol 107. As a result, a floating body 108 is raised, which switches a contact 109 for actuating a hydraulic lifting device 110.
This lifting device 110 lifts by means of a rod 111 a scoop 113 guided on an overflow pipe 112 into the position indicated by dashed lines, whereby a precisely dosed amount of metal flows through the overflow pipe 112 into the filling sleeve 12 and then in a known manner is pressed by the piston n into the die casting mold g, h.
As a result of this process, the level of the melt drops to the level indicated by the symbol 113. At the same time, the floating body 108 sinks accordingly and now closes a contact 114, which in turn actuates the ejection piston 106 to insert a new pig 104 into the crucible. It goes without saying that the necessary delays between the individual control processes can be observed between the individual processes by means of time switch arrangements.
The maximum melting crucible level indicated by the symbol 107 is lower than the upper edge of the overflow pipe 112 in all operating conditions. A continued run of metal after the filling process, e.g. B. as a result of vibrations of the device is avoided.
With 115 and 116 gas ring lines are designated, by means of which town gas flares can be generated in order to prevent the access of oxygen to the melt surface and thus fires and oxide formation. The same purpose is used to supply a protective gas, e.g. B. SO., By means of the line 117 in the annular space 119 formed by the partition 118 above the melting surface surrounding the overflow pipe 112.
The facilities described can be used in principle when processing all metals and metal alloys. They have proven themselves particularly for the processing of aluminum and magnesium alloys. It does not matter whether you work with casting machines, permanent molds or other casting devices. In conjunction with an automatic removal device for the cast part, a fully automatic casting process, machine interlinking and multiple machine operation are possible. The devices described are basically also suitable for processing plastics.
