Les avantages de la disposition décrite sont les suivants: La faible largeur (b) de la fente intérieure 8 mini- mise le flux de chaleur susceptible de s'écouler de l'intérieur à l'extérieur de la chaudière ainsi que la surface de matériau du joint exposée aux produits de la combustion; La faible largeur (b) de la fente intérieure minimise les effets d'une pression suivant les flèches F régnant à l'intérieur du foyer et susceptible de chasser le matériau 9 hors du conduit 10;

Method of tight assembly of juxtaposed elements, intended to form a closed chamber Boilers and in particular cast iron boilers used for central heating with hot water or steam often consist of juxtaposed elements or sections.
These sections are generally designed so as to obtain (after assembly) a seal with respect to the atmosphere of the combustion products released in the hearth and discharged to the chimney after passing through appropriate exchange circuits.
There are a large number of methods or arrangements which make it possible to ensure, in an efficient and durable manner, the tightness at the periphery of two contiguous sections so that the combustion products cannot be diluted by infiltration of gas. 'ambient air when the hearth and the exchange circuits are at low pressure relative to the atmosphere, or be diffused into the ambient air, when the hearth and the exchange circuits are at overpressure relative to the atmosphere. atmosphere.
The present invention, which relates to a process for the sealed assembly of juxtaposed elements intended to form a closed chamber, for example a boiler, makes it possible to obtain the grouting of the elements in a particularly rapid, economical and efficient manner.
The method according to the invention is characterized in that a groove is formed on the end faces of the elements to be assembled, in that the end faces of two elements to be assembled are placed opposite and close to one another. assemble in such a way that the two opposite grooves form between the faces a duct open respectively to the outside and to the inside by a slot and in that a sealed plastic material is introduced under pressure into the duct through the outer slot .
It is obvious that the plastic material will be chosen so that it has suitable qualities of adhesion and resistance to heat or cold, or to humidity or to other aggressive physical or chemical agents. , depending on the particular case.
As particularly suitable waterproof plastic materials, mention may be made of silicone elastomers which vulcanize - with or without the addition of catalyst, preferably at room temperature. The essential qualities of silicone elastomers are very good resistance to humidity, very good cold and heat stability; they are strongly thixatropic and have practically no creep.
A particular embodiment of the process according to the invention will be described below, by way of example, with reference to the appended drawing in which: FIGS. 1 and 2 are sectional views of an assembly during and after the installation of the seal, respectively.
The end faces of the sections 1a and 1b to be juxtaposed are each provided with two ribs one 2 adjacent to the outer face 3 of the section and the other 4 adjacent to the inner face 5 of the section and higher! These ribs are separated by a groove 6 with a rounded bottom. They come face to face when you assemble them. contiguous sections 1a and 1b. The two opposite grooves 6 form a duct 10 of elliptical shape having a relatively wide outer slot 7, of width (a) and a much narrower inner slot 8, of width (b).
The median plane passing through the axis of these two slots corresponds to the bearing plane of the two juxtaposed sections.
The largest dimension (c) of duct 10 is located in a plane perpendicular to this median plane. The duct 10 is intended to serve as a housing for the assembly joint of the two sections, made of a plastic and waterproof material 9.
The outer slot, located on the outer walls 3 of the sections, has such a profile, the ribs 2 being rounded top, that a plastic material 9 can easily be introduced from the outside of the sections following the arrows f so as to s '' spread in progressive and homogeneous layers in the duct until the latter is filled.

When the material 9 reaches the inner slot 8, i.e. the slot located on the inner walls 5 of the sections, the force necessary for an additional introduction of material from the outside increases rapidly due to the lamination imposed on the material by the inner slit.
This fact indicates that the air has been completely driven from the offered volume and the material is evenly applied to the walls of the duct.
Fig. 2 shows the material 9 forming the seal in the final configuration. This material is preferably a silicone elastomer.
The advantages of the arrangement described are as follows: The narrow width (b) of the inner slot 8 minimizes the heat flow which may flow from the inside to the outside of the boiler as well as the material surface. of the gasket exposed to the products of combustion; The small width (b) of the interior slot minimizes the effects of pressure along the arrows F prevailing inside the hearth and capable of driving the material 9 out of the duct 10;
The shape of the duct and the ability of the material 9 to react isotropically to any pressure exerted on the openings 7 and 8 promotes the application of the material to the walls of the duct and therefore the maintenance of the seal.
