Traction sheaves for wire rope drives with a grooved lining are known as traction sheaves for wire rope drives, in particular wire rope conveying in mining conveying machines, with a lining in the area of the rope groove made of aluminum and aluminum alloys.
These light metal linings consist primarily of pure aluminum or a softer aluminum alloy with a Brinell hardness of well below 50 kg / mm2 in order to achieve the highest possible coefficient of friction of 0.6 and more. However, among other things, these feedings are subject to very high levels of wear and tear.
Further proposed traction sheave chucks made of an aluminum-silicon alloy have the disadvantage that, due to the composition of the materials, the entire structure hardens in a relatively short time. This then also sinks the original mean coefficient of friction from about 0.5 to about 0.2. The feed is therefore also unusable in practice.
The present invention is a pulley provided with a grooved chuck for wire rope drives, which is free from these disadvantages. According to the invention, the grooved lining consists at least partially of a cast alloy of 11 to 13.5% silicon, a maximum of 0.05% copper, a maximum of 0.05% magnesium, a maximum of 0.6% iron, a maximum of 0.1% zinc , maximum 0.15% titanium, 0.3 to 0.5% manganese and the remainder aluminum.
It is particularly suitable for wire rope conveyor systems and as a drive pulley for elevators.
Such a grooved lining alloy, which is melted with the addition of 5 to 10% pure aluminum and cast in sand, has an average Brinell hardness of about 54 kg / mm2 and results in an average friction coefficient of 0.5, which is completely sufficient also to prevent ziplines in difficult operating conditions.
A post-hardening or hardening of the feed produced in the named composition in compliance with the maximum permissible admixtures as a result of increased warming does not occur and thus the high coefficient of friction does not decrease in operation after years of use.
Numerous practical tests on traction sheaves of blind shaft conveyor systems in hard coal and potash mining under the most varied of operating conditions with lower and higher loads and correspondingly lower to high specific surface pressures have proven this. The rope groove of the traction sheave according to the invention always remains handy, it does not smooth itself.
Another advantage is that the durability of the light metal chucks described is significantly greater than that of the previously used traction sheave grooved chucks made of aluminum alloys with a far lower Brinell hardness.
As a result of the extraordinarily long durability of the grooved lining made of the cast alloy described, the abrasion is also relatively low, so that dust on the machine parts is reduced to a tolerable level.
Due to the greater Brinell hardness of the alloy mentioned, the strands of the wire rope are not stressed more than with softer aluminum alloys, although they still penetrate sufficiently into the metal despite the harder cast alloy. The durability of the wire rope strands is not affected.
The drive pulley according to the invention can also be used with equal success as a lining on drive pulleys of elevators, since the alloy is also well suited for this because of the relatively small pulley diameter and the high pressure load, especially since the material is also very tough and break-proof and an extraordinarily large one Possesses abrasion resistance.
In order to further improve the ability of the described traction sheave to be carried along and to achieve better rope protection, it is further proposed according to the invention that the grooved lining made of the alloy mentioned is alternating in the area of the rope groove with a softer leather-like thermoplastic or thermoplastic-like plastic,
especially based on polyvinyl chloride or polyester with isocyanate.
The proposed connection of the known thermoplastic traction sheave lining with the lining made of the said alloy has the advantage that the wear on this combined grooved lining is more even than, for example, with the combination of the polyvinyl chloride lining with the conventional aluminum lining, which wears out much faster.
The drawing shows an embodiment of the invention.

It denotes 1 the traction sheave rim, 2 a lining block made of the cast alloy and 3 a lining block made of thermoplastic material, which are used alternately in series in the pulley ring.
