Self-luminous Christmas tree decorations The aim of the present invention is to create a new type of self-luminous Christmas tree decorations and Christmas tree candles, which realize the liveliness of the open candle flame at least in a stylized form and produce decorative reflections which, despite contemporary technical solutions, tie in with traditional ideas.
The decorative effect of traditional Christmas tree decorations is based on reflections, which reflect the surrounding light by means of shiny, possibly faceted and colored surfaces made of glass or metal, and on the liveliness of the candle flame, which enlivens the reflections with its inconsistent light intensity.
Because of the fires that occur as a result of the open candle flame and the flammability of tree and Ge, electric light bulbs are used to a limited extent in place of candles as a light source. These incandescent lamps have a glass body, which should indicate a slight resemblance to the shape of the candle flame. These incandescent lamps are operated either with normal voltage or with low voltage via a transformer or rectifier. In terms of color and dimensions, the supply lines are usually designed in such a way that they can be installed quite inconspicuously.
However, these incandescent lamps have only found general application where their use is mandatory by legal provisions, because neither the shape nor the type of radiation can effectively replace the living, open candle flame. The attachment of the supply lines is also perceived as annoying and the distribution of the individual lights is somewhat difficult to achieve due to the supply lines.
The purpose of the invention is to eliminate the disadvantages mentioned and to create new variants of self-luminous Christmas tree decorations.
The present invention relates to a new type of self-luminous Christmas tree decorations and Christmas tree candles, but also stars and other, symbolically and decoratively suitable design, characterized in that the light or
Radiation effect comes into play indirectly, in that the lighting effect is emitted by illuminated luminous surfaces, which are provided with colored coatings to increase the effect and an invigorating effect is achieved through radiation intensity by creating a current in a light bulb and / or outside it by means of a Flatterwi resistance, strengthened or weakened from time to time.
The effect can be enhanced by using substances which themselves fluoresce or by applying reflective or fluorescent coatings. If a flutter resistor is built into the light bulb or outside it, the light intensity modulates irregularly, which enlivens the lighted surfaces and creates the impression of a flickering, open flame. In addition, the service life of the battery used can be extended. Where the service life should be unlimited, such. B. for shop window decorations lines must be used.
As an example of a possible embodiment without a line, FIG. 1 shows an indirectly lit candle according to the present invention.
The set goal is achieved in that a radiation source acts indirectly via diffusely reflecting surfaces that radiate secondary, is fed without a supply line and, if desired, the light intensity is modulated at regular or irregular intervals, whereby both traditional and open A candle flame similar as well as new effects and invigorating effects can be achieved.
On Fig. 2 .the candle according to the present invention is shown in its individual parts. Number (1) is a) the luminous surface is provided with openings that imitate the courtyard of the candle wick, which is affected by the radiation or
Light source is illuminated and the design and combination of which when switched on should give the impression of a steadily burning candle flame, and b) at the same time the control switch for switching it on and off by rotating it, (2) is a dry battery, (3 ) a low-voltage light bulb, possibly with a short focal length converging lens, which z.
B. can be combined with a flutter resistor, (4) base for (1), (5) Kontaktfe der, (6) a shrunk-on shrink tube that (2, 4, 5) together to form an exchangeable battery unit Fig. 1- (2) connects.
As an example of a novel Christmas tree ornament, a similarly built self-luminous star (Fig. 3) as a general view and (Fig. 4) as a detailed view is shown and described ben below. Number (1) is the luminous area which is illuminated by the reflector (2), (3) sleeve to accommodate the battery (7), the switch part (6), the switch button (4) and the light bulb (5).
The contact spring (9) presses the battery (7) against the switch (4, 6), and at the same time conducts the current via the contact strip (8) to the external contact of the light bulb (5) and thus attaches the luminous surface (1) to the Sleeve (3). Depending on the distance between the illuminated area (1) and reflector (2), the illuminated area can be larger or smaller.
The luminous surface (1) can be designed differently by means of colored, reflective, fluorescent coatings. By means of a Flutterwiderstan, the light intensity can also be modulated and thus a flicker effect can be achieved. Switching on and off and replacing the battery can be done in a similar way to the candle-shaped design.
It goes without saying that the various shapes and surfaces that are decoratively and symbolically suitable for use as Christmas tree decorations can be designed and used in a similar manner. The battery unit Fig. 1- (2) in the candle-shaped version can be white or colored.
An embodiment is preferred which can be attached to any desired location on the tree without supply lines and like actually burning candles. The burning time of this variant is 6-12 hours depending on the type. Changing the batteries takes no more time and is just as easy as changing an ordinary candle. In addition to the use of disposable batteries, the use of rechargeable batteries is also possible. But there are also cases where a long, uninterrupted burning time (e.g.
Shop window mood lighting etc.) is desired, d. H. the use of leads is preferred. The type of current and voltage are only of secondary importance for the design according to the invention and are therefore not described in detail.
