La fig. 1 est une vue en plan de dessus partielle d'un mouve ment de montre équipé du mécanisme et dont la tige est en posi tion de mise à l'heure; la fig. 2 une vue en plan analogue à celle de la fig. 1, montrant @la tige dans une position intermédiaire entre la position de mise à l'heure et la position de correction; la fig. 3 une vue en plan analogue à celle des fig. I et 2, mon trant la tige en position de correction;
In traditional watch movements without a calendar device, the control mechanism must perform two functions: setting the time of the hands and winding the mainspring. On the other hand, in most watch movements comprising a calendar device, the control mechanism also performs one or two additional functions: the correction of the calendar indicator member in the case of simple date watches and the correction. selective of both of the calendar indicator members in the case of date and day of the week watches.
To ensure these additional functions, the known control mechanisms include, in addition to the members of traditional mechanisms, additional elements mounted on the plate and the number of which is, in certain cases, quite high. These additional elements must be adjusted to each other with great precision. On the other hand, their shape and their arrangement must be designed so as to avoid excessive bulk. Finally, they must function without disturbing the traditional functions of the mechanism and in particular without hampering the setting. However, these conditions are difficult to achieve.
The displacement of the pinion sliding on the square of the rod from the time-setting position can cause a slight displacement of the movable parts coupled to the hands, which prevents a completely precise time setting.
On the other hand, the plate must have bosses, recesses or holes for mounting part of the additional members of the mechanism and these requirements complicate the manufacture and assembly of the movements.
The present invention relates to a control mechanism for a mechanical watch movement, comprising a control rod, a pull tab pivoting on the movement plate and articulated to the rod, a pull tab spring capable of fixing the rod in several positions. axial, a sliding pinion movable on a square of the rod, a winding pinion coaxial with the rod and a reference intended to be driven in rotation by the sliding pinion, at least in one of said positions of the rod.
Mechanisms of this kind are already known. When intended for simple movements without a calendar, the transmission pivots around a fixed axis. However, in other mechanisms of the type defined above intended for movements with a calendar, the return is carried by a first lever and its axis constitutes the pivot axis of a second lever carrying a correction mobile. These two rockers are superimposed on the usual rocker which actuates the sliding pinion.
There is thus obtained a mechanism with three positions of the rod which fulfills all the control functions necessary in the case of a calendar with date and day of the week, but this known mechanism is relatively large in height and the adjustment of the various scales complicates the assembly.
The aim of the present invention is to provide a control mechanism for a mechanical watch movement which meets the requirements of practice better than hitherto, in particular thanks to a simple and compact arrangement, in particular of low height, capable of be easily mounted and perform the necessary functions reliably.
For this purpose, the control mechanism according to the invention, of the type mentioned above, is characterized in that it further comprises a control plate having in the same plane a rigid part pivotally mounted on the plate and forming a arm which carries said return, and a deformable part forming a resilient arm attached to the rigid part and engaged in the groove of the sliding pinion, the rigid part being urged by a spring and moved against this spring by pressing against said rigid arm, elastic arm itself urged by the zipper.
The mechanism thus defined may present, in addition to the advantages mentioned above, other advantages which will be mentioned later, when it is incorporated into a calendar watch movement. The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the mechanism according to the invention, this mechanism comprising correction members of a date indicator and of an indicator of the days of the week which are actuated. when the rod is in its intermediate position.
Fig. 1 is a partial top plan view of a watch movement equipped with the mechanism and the stem of which is in the time-setting position; fig. 2 a plan view similar to that of FIG. 1, showing @the stem in an intermediate position between the time-setting position and the correction position; fig. 3 a plan view similar to that of FIGS. I and 2, showing the rod in the correction position;
fig. 4 a complete top plan view of the members of the mechanism in their reassembly position, some of them being however cut away, and FIG. 5 a sectional view on a larger scale along the line V-V of FIG. 4.
The plan views shown in FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 show only the parts of the mechanism which are necessary to understand the principle of its operation. The elements which have been removed in these figures are visible, on the other hand, in FIG. 4.
On the plate 1 of the watch movement is mounted a timer wheel 2, the construction and operation of which are usual. In the position of this fig. 1, a transmission gear 3 is engaged with the teeth of the timer wheel 2. This gear is movable in translation, as will be seen below, and for this it pivots at the free end of a rigid arm 4a that presents a control plate generally designated by 4. This control plate is flat. It can be cut from a sheet of steel and carries a pivot pin 5 engaged in a hole in the plate.
It has a second rigid arm 4b and between the arms 4a and 4b an elastically deformable arm 4c whose head is cut with a notch 4d and, on the other side of this notch, a triangular projection 4e. The arm 4c acts as a sliding pinion rocker and its free end is engaged in the sliding pinion groove 6, which is mounted on a square of the winding and time-setting stem 7. The latter is of usual construction.
It is intended to carry a crown at its outer end (not shown in the drawing) and has a groove 8 for receiving the tenon of the pull tab 9 as well as a bearing surface 10 for the pivoting of the winding pinion 11. </ B> The zipper 9 pivots around a fixed axis materialized by the pin 12. Opposite its tenon engaged in the groove 8, it has two nozzles 13 and 14 and carries a pin 15 which cooperates with the head pull tab spring 16.
This head has three notches which cooperate with the pin 15, so as to fix the three positions of the pull tab and of the rod, these three positions corresponding to setting the time (position shown in FIG. 1 and in which the rod is pulled out as far as possible), in the intermediate position or correction position, and in the internal position or winding position.
The pull-tab spring 16 is integral with a rigid plate 17 fixed to the plate 1 by a screw 18 and which has several arms: the arm 19 covers the rod, and the pivoting pin 12 of the zipper, the arm 19 holds the zipper, while the arm 20 keeps the winding pinion 1 1 in place when the mechanism is reassembled. The arm 21, which can be slightly bent upwards, covers the return 3 and serves to hold the plate 4 on the plate. This arm ensures in particular the engagement of the pin 22 fixed projecting in the underside of the plate 4, in an opening or a circular recess 23 made in the plate.
The possible angular movement of the plate 4 is therefore limited by the support of the pin 22 in two diametrically opposed locations against the circular flank of the recess 23. The movements of the plate 4 are still controlled by the res out blade 24 which presses against a boss 25 of the plate. This blade 24, fixed by one end to a lateral lug 26 of the plate 4, is maintained in a more or less strong winding state depending on the position of this plate.
By moving in rotation on the tenon 5 the plate 4 can cause, through its arms 4a and 4c, displacements of the sliding pinion 6 and of the return 3. However, the elasticity of the arm 4c allows differential displacements. as shown in figs. I, 2 and 3. In fig. 1, we see, as has already been mentioned, the mechanism in its time-setting position. The spout 14 of the zipper 9 presses on the arm 4c at a location which is located beyond the notch 4d. The whole of the plate 4 is therefore requested to rotate in the clockwise direction.
The pin 22 has come to rest against the left edge, in FIG. I of the opening 23, which corresponds to the maximum winding of the spring 24. In addition, the elastic arm 4c has bent, so that the projection 4e has come to rest against the side of the arm 4a. Under these conditions, reference 3 has been moved to the maximum to the left in fig. 1, and the same applies to the sliding pinion 6. The axial toothing of the latter member is engaged with the toothing of the gear 3, so that a rotation of the rod drives that of the timer wheel 2.
The tenon 15 of the zipper is pressed against a ramp 27 which constitutes one of the flanks of the notch formed in the head of the zipper spring to ensure the time-setting position so that this position is stable.
We see, in fig. 1, 2 and 3. an intermediate reference 28, the support means of which are not shown and will be described below. In fig. I, this referral is not engaged with referral 3; it works in other positions of the winding stem.
Fig. 2 shows the same elements as in FIG. 1 and that in an intermediate position between the time setting position and the correction position. The rod 7 has therefore been pushed back towards the center of the movement and the pin 15 of the pull tab is now located at the top of the ramp 27, ready to enter the intermediate notch of the head of the pull tab spring 16.
The rotational movement effected by the pull tab 9 has brought the spout 14 opposite the notch 4d of the arm 4c. This arm, whose rigidity is greater than that of the spring 24, is therefore straightened, which moved the sliding pinion 6 to the right while the assembly of the plate 4 rotated slightly around its pivot 5 under the action of the spring 24, and that the pin 22 reached approximately the center of the recess 23. The displacement of the sliding pinion, due to the movement of the arm 4c is therefore greater than that of the return 3 due to the arm 4a of the plate 4. In the intermediate position, shown in fig. 2, the sliding pinion is therefore released from the gearbox 3.
This release takes place from the start of the movement of the rod, so that, when the toothing of the return 3 leaves that of the timer wheel 2, the return is completely free. There is therefore no risk of jamming or of moving the timer wheel.
Fig. 3 shows the mechanism in the correction position. The pin 15, integral with the zipper 9, has engaged in the intermediate notch of the head of the zipper spring 16, the rod reaching its middle position between the position of setting. time and winding position. The spout 14 of the pull tab slid along the upper flank of the notch 4b but, at the same time, the spout 13 made contact with the end of the arm 4d of the plate 4.
This plate has therefore been urged to rotate in the counterclockwise direction, so that the pin 22 has come to abut against the right edge of the recess 23. The movement of the pull tab has therefore had the effect that the head of the elastic arm 4c s 'is moved away from the arm 4b and that the projection 4e has been brought into contact with the internal flank of the arm 4a. Thus, during the passage from the position of FIG. 2 to that of FIG. 3, the plate 4 has rotated without the end of the arm 4c moving relative to the plate.
In other words, the sliding pinion 6 remained stationary, while the transmission gear 3 moved in the direction of the sliding pinion and re-engaged with it. At the same time, the transmission reference 3 meshed with the intermediate reference 28. It can be seen in the position of FIG. 3 that the projection 4e presses against the edge of the arm 4a of the plate 4. The latter is therefore blocked by the two nozzles 14 and 13 of the zipper, one of which presses the arm 4c against the arm 4a and the other retains the arm 4b. The functions which can be fulfilled during a rotation of the rod placed in this axial position will be explained with reference to fig. 4.
However, before moving on to this figure, we will examine what will happen when the rod 7 is pushed back into the winding position. The zipper 9 will rotate clockwise around its axis 12, so that the pin 5 will enter the third notch of the head of the zipper spring 16. The spout 14 will move completely away from the flexible arm 4c, while the spout 13 will move away from the arm 4b. The plate 4 will therefore be held by its spring 24 in a position where the pin 22 bears against the right edge of the recess 23, the arm 4c extending freely between the two arms 4a and 4b.
Thus, the change from the middle position to the winding position has the consequence that the return 3 remains in engagement with the return 28, but the sliding pinion 6 moves on the square of the rod and comes into mesh with the pinion of remon toir 11. The breguet teeth of the sliding pinion and of the winding gear are engaged with each other by the elastic force of the spring 24.
The latter can be subjected to very slight bending when it is subjected to a weak force, so that the operation of the breguet can be carried out in a completely normal way when the winding stem is rotated to actuate the wheel. ratchet.
The positions taken by the various members of the mechanism in the winding position are clearly visible in FIG. 4, although, in this figure, the mechanism is represented with all its parts. It can be seen, in particular, that the sliding pinion 6 meshes with the winding pinion 11 and that the elastic arm 4c extends in a straight line between the rigid arms 46 and 4a of the plate 4. The plate 4 is covered by a bridge mechanism 29 which is fixed to a projecting part of the plate by a screw 30 and maintains the plate 4. This bridge, generally rectangular in appearance, carries the return 28 which pivots about a fixed axis.
I1 also carries, as seen in FIG. 5, an oscillating lever 31 which pivots on a tenon 32 driven into an opening made at its end. This tenon 32 has two bearing surfaces, one of which is engaged with play in an opening of the lever 31 and the other, a little larger, is engaged in an opening presented by a spring plate 36 slightly bent at its free end. The oscillating lever 31 carries at its free end a fixed journal 33 provided with a projecting head and around which pivots a first correction mobile consisting of a pinion 34 and an adjustable elastic washer 35 provided with a correction finger 35a.
The slightly curved end part of the leaf spring 36 extends under the pinion 34 and causes it to press permanently against the head of the journal 33. The lower end of the journal 33 protrudes under the lever 31 and is engaged in an opening 37 of circular shape, which the mechanism bridge 29 has. This engagement limits the possible angular movement of the lever 31. As the teeth of the pinion 34 is permanently engaged with that of the intermediate return 28, this pinion is coupled to the winding stem when it is in the correction position.
However, depending on the direction of rotation of the rod, the lever 31 will move and its position will be determined by pressing the lower end of the journal 33 against the side of the opening 37 at one end or the other. with a diameter of this opening. However, the arrangement of the lever 31 is such that, whatever its position, the teeth of the pinion 34 remain in engagement with that of the return 28.
The mechanism described further comprises a second mobile corrector consisting of a pinion 38 and a plate 39. The pinion 38 rotates on a fixed journal planted in the bridge 29. It comprises a hub and a toothing, the toothing s' extending at the level of that of the pinion 34, while the plate 39 extends a little lower than the plate 35. The plate 39 has two diametrically opposed fingers 39a. The axis of the mobile 38, 39 is fixed and it is arranged so that the pinion 34 drives it when its lever 31 is in the position in which it is shown in FIG. 4.
In this position, the pinions 34 and 38 therefore rotate with the return 28 and the two diametrically opposed fingers of the elastic member 39 alternately actuate the date ring 40 whose internal teeth, with 31 teeth, extend in such a manner. to be attacked by the fingers of the member 39. The chain of mobiles 28, 34, 38 therefore constitutes a date correcting mechanism and acts in this way when the rod is rotated clockwise when looking at the rod. from right to left in fig. 4.
In fact, when the rod turns in this direction, the transmission reference 6 turns in the counterclockwise direction seen in FIG. 4, the intermediate gear 28 rotates clockwise, so that the pinion 34 rotates counterclockwise. Due to the spring 36, the lever 31 is therefore biased in the counterclockwise direction and the pinion 34 is held in engagement with the pinion 38.
If, on the other hand, the rod is rotated in the other direction, the transmission gear 6 rotates clockwise and the intermediate gear counterclockwise, foolish that the lever 31 is subjected to a force which moves it clockwise. schedule. The pinion 34 rotates clockwise, after having moved away from the pinion 38. The finger 35 then engages the day star 41, a star with 14 teeth, which is displaced by one step on each rotation performed by the pinion 34. The star 41 carries a disc 42 on which are inscribed the names of the days, each being repeated twice.
The two indications corresponding to each day are close to each other and appear successively in an aperture in the dial. When the star 41 is actuated by the movement, it advances by 2 steps every 24 hours. Its exact orientation is fixed by the jumper 43.
As the plates 39 and 35 are elastically mounted on the means of the pinions which carry them and as, on the other hand, the pinions 38, 34 and 28 are free as long as the rod is in the reassembly position as seen in fig. 4, There is no risk of the calendar indicator members being blocked when moved by the movement-actuated switching mechanism.
A complete three-position control mechanism has thus been produced, of a very simple construction, easy to assemble and reliable. In particular, thanks to the conformation of the plate 4, which comprises two rigid arms on either side of an elastic arm, the mechanism ensures the release of the teeth of the transmission return and of the sliding pinion while these members are moved. from the time-setting position to the correction position, although these teeth are engaged with each other in these two positions. This result is obtained by means of a single mobile support, plate 4. Of course, this mechanism could also be used in a calendar system with a simple date. The plate 39 could then be mounted directly on the return 28.
As already mentioned above, the mechanism described is of a particularly simple and rational construction. More precisely, we see that it allows an interesting rationalization in the production of watch movements in large series by the fact that the assembly shown in FIG. 5, and comprising different movable members mounted on the plate 29 can be implemented as a single piece. Indeed, these various movable members extend above the plate 29 without interfering with other elements of the movement, so that, during assembly,
the plate 29 can be put in place after all the elements shown for example in FIGS. 1 to 3 have been mounted, the star 41 is then placed in place. In the absence of the corrector support 29 and the moving parts that it carries, the mechanism consisting of the control plate 4, the return 3, the rod 7, the zipper 9 and the zipper spring 16, 17 constitutes a control mechanism. winding and time setting which performs all the control functions required in a mechanical watch movement without a calendar device.
Consequently, it can be seen that the same plates can be used either with mechanisms intended for movements with a simple calendar, or with a calendar with date and days of the week, or with mechanisms for movement without a calendar. As a result, it is possible to produce identical basic calibers, which are mounted on the same assembly lines, and to complete the equipment of the movements at will. To produce calendar movements, it will suffice to add to the base caliber a date ring and, if necessary, a day star, with their drive members and the corrector module supported by plate 29.
In the case of movements intended to be completed without a calendar device, the control mechanism will be mounted with a pull-tab spring whose arm 16 has only two notches at its end and a control plate 4 not having the arm 46.
