Juice centrifuge The present invention is a juice centrifuge for grated fruits and vegetables with a rotating sieve basket and one outlet each for the juice and the pomace.
Juice centrifuges of this type are already known, with these previously known juice centers of the type mentioned always having a relatively small juice outlet nozzle and a relatively large pomace outlet nozzle. It was based on the idea that a large part of the air flow caused by the rotating sieve basket should be used to expel the pomace. However, these known constructions had the after part of a relatively low juice production by only a small part of the air passing through the layer of grated material on the inside of the screen basket was used to increase the juice production.
The present invention was based on the object to provide a juice centrifuge of the type mentioned, in which, with otherwise unchanged conditions, the juice production is significantly increased who can.
The juice centrifuge according to the invention is characterized in that the smallest cross section of the juice outlet connector is larger than the corresponding cross section of the pomace outlet connector.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown, namely: Fig. 1 is a vertical section, Fig. 2 is a section along the line II-II in Fig. 1, Fig. 3 is a vertical section through the screen basket and Fig. 4 a section along the line IV-IV in FIG. 1.
The housing 1 of the juice centrifuge shown in the drawing encloses the drive motor (not shown), the shaft 2 of which protrudes over the bottom of the centrifuge tub 3 formed by the upper part of the housing 1. By means of the screw 4, the strainer basket 5 and the grating disk 6 are detachably connected to the shaft 2, the grating disk being provided with upwardly protruding grating teeth 7 in the usual manner.
The sieve basket 5 has a bottom 8 with downwardly directed, concentrically arranged annular extensions 9 which engage in the spaces between corresponding annular extensions 10 of the bottom of the centrifuge bucket 3 and in this way form baffles together with the annular extensions 9 of the strainer basket 5,
which inhibit the passage of air and possibly also the passage of juice. The sieve part 11, which widens conically upwards, consists essentially of the actual sieve 12 as well as the ribs 13 running obliquely upwards in the direction of the sieve, the latter being held together at their upper end by the sieve basket ring 14.
This perforated basket ring has a downward extension 15 which enters between two upwardly pointing annular extensions 16 at the upper edge of the centrifuge tub 3 or the juice outlet nozzle 17 and in this way also forms an air passage inhibiting chicane. Above the upper edge of the ring 14 protrude a number of radial conveyor ribs 18, which each have an inwardly directed leg 18a and protrude radially over the ring 14 by a certain amount at their front edge to form a conveyor wing 18b.
The centrifuge bucket 3 is made in one piece with the lower part 19a of the pulp outlet nozzle 19 and the upper part 17a of the juice outlet nozzle 17, while the upper part of the pulp outlet nozzle is formed by the cover 20 and the lower part of the juice outlet nozzle 17 is formed by the insert piece 21 which last is connected to the housing 1. The pomace outlet nozzle 19 has a significantly smaller cross section than the juice outlet nozzle 17.
The outlet opening of the connector 19 is covered by a closing flap 22 which, pivotable about the axis 23, is held in the closed position shown in FIG. 1 by the counterweight 24. If, as a result, the pressure within the pulp outlet connection 19 becomes greater than the closing pressure generated by the weight 24, the closing flap pivots out of the closed position and releases the outlet opening of the connection 19.
The cover 20 is made in one piece with the filling nozzle 25, which protrudes on the upper side over the cover 20 and forms a guide for the plunger 26, by means of which the material to be grated is fed to the grating disc 6. The plunger 26 is secured against rotation by two diametrically opposed grooves 27 into which corresponding ribs 28 of the filler neck 25 enter. Air passage openings 29 are arranged in the cover 20 around the filler neck 25.
Among these openings 29, an adjusting ring 32 is rotatably mounted between a shoulder 30 of the lid and a guide ring 31 attached to the lid, which ring also inserts over slit-like openings 33 arranged along a circle. On the setting ring 32 sit upward white and through the openings 29 penetrating Be actuation bolts 34, by means of which the setting ring 32 can be rotated from the outside to bring the openings 33 more or less in accordance with the openings 29 and so the air to regulate access to the centrifuge bucket 3.
Furthermore, the lid forms the circular pulp channel 35, which is located above the basket ring 14. In this channel, serving as pomace conveying means and circulating with the sieve basket 5, convey the pomace rising up from the sieve 12 and thrown against the channel 35 towards the outlet connection tangentially adjoining the pomace channel, through which the pomace emerges the juice centrifuge is ejected.
At its lower end, the filler neck 25 is connected to a metering ring 39, the edge of which extends below the upper level of the grating disk 6. The metering ring, which, apart from the neces sary game, includes the grating disc 6 on all sides, be seated a lateral passage opening 40, which is designed as a groove inclined to the radius of the filler neck in the direction of the grating disc (arrow 41, Fig. 4),
so that a sharp cutting edge 42 forms on the inside of the metering ring 39.
If fruit or vegetables are placed in the filler neck 25 and pressed against the grating disk 6 by the plunger 26, the goods brought in are grated in a known manner. The material to be shuffled emerges laterally through the passage opening 40, parts that have not been ruffled by the cutting edge 42, such as for example kernels, pieces of fruit skin, etc., being comminuted until they can also pass through the opening 40. This prevents oversized scraper parts from clogging the sieve and possibly also the pulp channel.
Furthermore, the fact that the material to be graffled can only get into the area of the sieve 12 through the opening 40 results in a dosage of the amount of material to be grated, so that on the inside of the sieve 12, where the material to be grated, thanks to the centrifugal force of the circulating Siebes ge reached, only a relatively thin layer forms. The grated material is thrown out in the sieve 12 by the centrifugal force, the juice-expelling effect being increased very substantially by the air flow generated by the surrounding sieve and in particular its ribs 13.
As already mentioned, the air enters the centrifuge bucket 3 through the openings 29 and 33, this entering air amount being adjustable by the rotation of the ring 32. Since the cross-section of the juice outlet nozzle 17 is large, it is achieved that on the one hand the air can exit through the nozzle 17 practically without resistance and the amount of air passing through the sieve 12 is as large as possible and on the other hand the entire sieve surface is penetrated by the air flow.
Thanks to the centrifugal force of the sieve basket 5, the pomace rises up along the sieve 12 and thus enters the pomace channel 35, in which it is moved forward through the ribs 18 with their extensions 18a to the mouth of the pomace outlet nozzle 19, and then the juice centrifuge to leave through this nozzle. The ribs 18 furthermore prevent pomace accumulations from forming above the sieve basket 11, which could enlarge due to the subsequent supply of pomace and ultimately lead to a blockage.
Since, in contrast to the juice outlet nozzle, the pomace outlet nozzle has only a small cross-section, it will fill with pomace after a relatively short time, which pomace forms an airtight seal so that the air entering through openings 29 and 33 does not escape - Possibility through the pulp nozzle and in its entirety must pass through the layer of grated material lying on the inside of the sieve 12 and in this way must support the juice outlet.
In order to ensure this effect already at the beginning of the centrifugation, the flap 22 is seen, which then prevents the escape of air through the pomace outlet nozzle or, at least makes it difficult, if the amount of pomace conveyed is not yet sufficient to close the outlet nozzle. When the centrifuge continues to operate and sufficient pomace is being conveyed, the flap is then automatically opened by the emerging pomace sausage.
In this way it is possible to force the entire air flow generated by the sieve basket 5 to pass through the thin layer of grated material on the inside of the sieve 12 and thus to achieve a significantly better juice yield.
