So könnten z.
Toothpaste Dispenser The purpose of the invention is to provide a toothpaste dispenser with a container for storing toothpaste. The toothpaste dispenser should be designed in such a way that a toothbrush can be inserted into it and that a predetermined amount of toothpaste is then automatically applied to the brush.
The invention relates to a toothpaste dispenser, which is characterized by a. Gehäu se with an introduction channel for a toothbrush, a sliding block mounted in this channel against the action of a spring, one with the channel via an outlet opening and with a toothpaste container via an opening in connection with a dosing chamber and a displaceable in the dosing chamber with the ejection piston connected to the slide block.
A pressure plate can preferably be arranged in the toothpaste container in order to prevent toothpaste from flowing back from the dosing chamber into the container. This pressure plate can be coupled to the sliding block in order to promote the latter toothpaste in the Dosierungskam mer when the latter is moved.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the toothpaste dispenser according to the invention is shown; 1 shows a front view of a toothpaste dispenser, FIG. 2 shows a horizontal section along line 11-II in FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows a vertical section along line III-III in FIG. 2, FIG .4 a vertical section along the line IV-IV in Fig. 3,
5 shows a horizontal section along the line V-V in FIG. 4, FIG. 6 shows a section similar to FIG. 3, but with the toothbrush inserted, and FIG. 7 shows a section corresponding to FIG. 5 with the toothbrush inserted.
The toothpaste dispenser shown comprises a housing 1, on the side walls of which projections 2 with bores 3 are provided for receiving and storing unused toothbrushes. The Ge housing 6 can be set up or hung on a wall by means of not dargestell ter recesses in the rear wall of the housing.
The upper part of the housing contains a shaft-like interior space 4 which is octagonal in cross section and which is closed by a cover 5 and serves as a toothpaste container. An octagonal pressure plate 6, which is screwed onto a hollow threaded spindle 7 by means of a bore with an internal thread, is mounted displaceably in this toothpaste container. The threaded spindle 7 has an axial bore in cross section dreiecki GE and is detachably slipped onto a drive shaft 8, which is also triangular in cross section and tapered at the upper end and which carries a gear 9 at its lower end.
The toothpaste container 4 is connected via an opening 10 in its bottom with a metering chamber 11 (FIG. 6) in which an ejection piston 12 is slidably mounted. The ejector piston 12 is rigidly connected to a sliding block 13 which is mounted in an insertion channel 14 for a toothbrush so as to be displaceable against the action of a compression spring 15.
In the channel 14, a closing block 16 is also slidably mounted, which normally closes the front end of the channel 14 and which is connected to the sliding block 13 via a further compression spring 17.
The channel 14 communicates with the dosing chamber 11 via an outlet opening 18 at the front end of the latter.
In a cavity in the lower part of the housing 1, next to the insertion channel 14, a vertical shaft 19 is rotatably mounted. The shaft 19 carries an arm 20 which protrudes into a space between the sliding block 13 and the end block 16. On the upper end of the shaft 19 a non-rotatably coupled pinion 21 is arranged on this shaft. Furthermore, a tab 22 is pivotably mounted on the shaft 19, on which a further, with the pinion 21 in engagement pinion 23 is rotatably superimposed ge.
By pivoting the tab 22, the pinion 23 can come into engagement with the gear wheel 9 (FIG. 5) or can be released from this engagement (FIG. 7).
The mode of operation of the toothpaste dispenser described, which, with the exception of springs 15 and 17, is preferably made entirely of plastic, is as follows.
Before the start-up, the toothpaste container 4 is filled with toothpaste. For this purpose, the cover 5 is removed and the threaded spindle 7 is removed from the drive shaft 8 with the pressure plate 6. A plastic bag containing toothpaste can now be inserted into the housing from above. The pointed upper end of the drive shaft 8 pushes a hole in this bag through which the contents of the bag can be pushed out by hand.
After the container 4 is filled, the threaded spindle 7 is placed on the drive shaft 8 that the pressure plate 6 is at the upper end of the spindle 7 and rests on the toothpaste. Then the cover 5 is put back on.
To remove toothpaste, a toothbrush 24 (FIG. 6) is inserted into the insertion channel 14. Since the spring 17 is softer than the spring 15, the closing block 16 is first pushed against the sliding block 13, whereupon both blocks are pushed to the left together in Fig. 3 or 6. The ejection piston 12 is taken along by the slide block 13 and withdrawn from the dosing chamber 11, so that toothpaste is sucked from the container 4 through the opening 10 into the dosing chamber 11. At the same time, the arm 20 is taken along by the end block 16, so that the shaft 19 is rotated counterclockwise in FIG. 5 or 7.
As a result, the pinion 23 is pivoted on the tab 22 counterclockwise until it comes into engagement with the gear 9 (FIG. 5), whereupon the latter is rotated by the pinion 21 via the pinion 23. As a result, the drive shaft 8 and thus the threaded spindle 7 rotates so that the pressure plate 6 lowers and promotes toothpaste into the metering chamber 11.
The transmission ratio between the shaft 19 and the pressure plate 6 is preferably such that the pressure plate conveys an amount of toothpaste that corresponds exactly to the volume of the dosing chamber 11 released by the ejection piston 12.
The toothbrush 24 is now withdrawn again from the channel 14, the blocks 13 and 16 also being pushed back into the position according to FIG. 3 by the springs 15 and 17. The arm 20 is taken along again, so that the shaft 19 now rotates clockwise. Since this causes the pinion 23 on the bracket 22 to be pivoted away from the gear 9, the latter does not rotate and the pressure plate 6 stops.
With the sliding block 13, the ejection piston 12 also moves forward again and presses against the toothpaste in the dosing chamber 11. Since the pressure plate 6 stops, this toothpaste cannot flow back into the container 4, it occurs therefore through the outlet opening 18 and is applied to the toothbrush 24 while it is being pulled out.
The toothpaste ejection process is ended when the sliding block 13 has reached its position shown in FIG. 3 again. Since the spring 17, as already mentioned, is softer than the spring 15, the closing block 16 is still in contact with the sliding block 13 at this point, i.e. has not yet reached the front end of the insertion channel 14, so that the toothpaste that has leaked out can be wiped off properly is possible.
In order to be able to determine when the toothpaste container 4 is almost empty and needs to be filled again, a window 25 made of transparent material is provided in the front wall of the housing 1, through which the pressure plate 6 is visible when it is the lower end of the Container 4 is approaching.
After the toothpaste container has been refilled, the threaded spindle 7 is placed in the reverse position on the drive shaft 8 so that the pressure plate 6 is on top again without having to be screwed over the entire spindle.
From the above description, it should be evident that the toothpaste dispenser described in the simplest possible way enables a uniform application of toothpaste on a toothbrush. If the toothbrush is pushed in completely, the amount of toothpaste corresponds to the volume of the dosing chamber 11. If a smaller amount of toothpaste is desired, the toothbrush is simply not pushed in all the way, so that the dosing chamber 11 is not completely filled.
In any case, the speed at which the toothpaste is ejected through the outlet opening 18 corresponds to the speed at which the toothbrush is withdrawn, so that the toothpaste is always evenly distributed on the toothbrush. It is also important that at rest, as can be seen from FIG. 3, the opening 10, the outlet opening 18 and the front end of the insertion channel 14 are closed so that the toothpaste cannot dry out and there is no contamination of the toothpaste. Donors can penetrate.
Of course, various changes to the toothpaste dispenser are possible. So could z. B. the pressure plate 6, the threaded spindle 7, the drive shaft 8 with the gear 9 and the one-way clutch formed by the parts 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23 can be omitted. Instead, the toothpaste container 4 could be directed to receive an aerosol can which contains toothpaste under the pressure of a gas.
An outlet line of the aerosol can provided with a valve could then open into the metering chamber 11 via the opening 10, and a member coupled to the sliding block 13 or to the ejection piston 12 could be provided to open the valve to actuate the valve when a toothbrush is inserted into the channel 14.
